East Liverpool City Hospital

I have been here a few times. My first experience was not very good. The staff were not nice towards me at ALL and did not listen to me and treated me as if I was a child who didn’t know what they were talking about. (I have an extensive background in the medical field) That was in 2016. However my last two experiences were undoubtedly wonderful. The nurses and doctors listened to my concerns and treated me with respect and dignity even though at times I wasn’t the most pleasant patient. They still didn’t get frustrated with me and answered the call lights and were very attentive. A few years ago I would’ve told you I wouldn’t take my dog there. Now, with the changes they have made I would recommend going to this hospital. I live closer to other hospitals but this one made me feel more comfortable than any others. AMAZING STAFF!! They all deserve a raise!!!

We took my mother to ELCH emergency. Wow! The people working were all so kind, caring and efficient. They were patient with my 80 year old mother and communicated appropriately. Every human… amazing. Upon being admitted, always kept the family informed and provide information that we needed whenever we called or visited. If it’s possible, my hospital of choice even if it’s 45 minutes away from Boardman. Thank you ELCH. Keep doing what you’re doing!!! We need great hospitals!

My only complaint was during my hospital stay was the food was always cold. So most of the time just left it. I know everyone on the floor is busy with trays patients etc so I just pushed my try aside. Usually ate my salads they were good. Oh I understand from all the floors etc probably there’s no solution. But it’s my only complaint. The Nurses, aides, etc were all great . I’d recommend to anyone.

My son was taken into the ER and later admitted and spent 3 days here. The nurses, Doctors, nurses assistants, cafeteria workers and house keeping were all AMAZING!! Very attentive in all areas. When I would go to the cafeteria at lunch to grab something to eat, they asked about my son and how he was doing. Doctors were attentive a thorough, Nurse were great, friendly and always coming in and explaining everything. The house keeping would come in to change garbage cans but go the extra mile and ask if my son needed anything. I would highly recommend East Liverpool City Hospital! We couldn’t be more pleased with the experience we had.

I am forever grateful to Linda, emergency department Nicole, and Brenda main hospital for their dedication and care during my time in the hospital. They went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and well-being, and their expertise and compassion truly made a difference in my recovery. I cannot thank them enough for their hard work and the impact they had on my health. They are truly beautiful souls, and I am blessed to have crossed paths with them.

Fortunately, I have only been admitted once before to ELCH, but this latest stay was a positive experience just like my first time. I received prompt and professional attention in the ER, and after my admission, my level of care was top notch. I think we all expect good medical care and that's exactly what I received. The doctors were unknown to me, but because of their caring nature and professionalism, I will be following up with two of them. The nursing staff was exceptional! Every single one, from the ER LPNs and RNs, to the professionals on the 4th floor, were some of most caring, respectful and professional woman anyone could ask for. Nursing is not a career that just anyone can handle, nor should they attempt to be successful at. The nurses assigned to me were such a blessing both in their level of knowledge and their concern for my comfort. They were gracious enough for some conversation, as well, and made my short stay the best that it possibly could have been. Thank you to each of my caregivers. Once I was cleared for discharge, everyone involved made it happen quickly.
I am so thankful to have ELCH so close to home when an emergency presents itself, and to know that I can have confidence in the care I will receive.

I went to have my echocardiogram on Wednesday 3/23/22and Sue in cardiology was excellent! She was very sweet and caring! Explained things to me and was very gentle! I’ll definitely recommend everyone to have their echocardiogram here at East Liverpool City Hospital! Sue rocks!!! Also she’s very knowledgeable another echocardiogram as well! Thank you!

I had my rt shoulder operated on Dec 29th and I have to tell you our surgery department rocks! They were so attentive to my needs and getting me comfortable! I think her name is Tina that did the block for my shoulder, she was excellent. She explained everything step by step! She put me at ease. I would recommend our surgery department every single time. I have to have back surgery and I wished we had a doctor here that could do this surgery instead of having to go to Boardman to get it done.

I had a total left knee replacement on February 13th and my experience at East Liverpool City Hospital was great starting with the surgery staff, they were excellent and very professional in doing their job! I always love our surgery staff. Dr Shaer is an excellent surgeon who knows his job. He explained everything to me and asked if I had any questions and he answered my questions as well. I love his bedside manner. I was admitted and the staff was wonderful! I first was in ICU and then put on the 5th floor. Everyone was wonderful and helpful. Maggie Fryman is wonderful! She took very good care of me and checking on me. I can’t say enough about our staff at ELCH! My stay was wonderful. Oh even the staff who brought my meals to me were very pleasant and friendly! Thanks everyone for making my stay at the hospital wonderful!♥

4 month old daughter had her lip tie corrected and the surgery staff were absolutely amazing. They took such good care of her

I went into the ER last night. I was there for about 4.5 hours. If you look at the sign in the room, it explains how long tests/labs will take. I was well taken care of, they figured out what was wrong and I feel much better now. If it takes a few hours to feel better, that's fine by me. All staff was very kind to me. Thanks for the awesome care.

My outpatient surgery went very well. All the staff were very friendly and efficient, and explained everything well. I always get sick after anesthesia and my anesthesiologist, Pete, did preemptive measures that took care of my issue. I am extremely grateful for that! Great job all around.

We were treated like royalty by the entire staff! So impressed. Better treatment than I ever received from trinity in Steubenville, like night and day. Informative, knowledgeable, detailed explanations! Made the experience of knee replacement , well it raised my own confidence. To endure. Cant thank you enough!

The girl from registration to the blood work to X-ray was all wonderful. Took the time since I was on oxygen and walking with a cane put me in a wheelchair and each department took me to the next place I needed to go. I truly appreciated what they did for me. Beverly Pucci

A little late but on September 26 2022 Dr. Ashley was amazing. My son Shawn had a massive headache and right away she did a ct scan and found he had a brain aneurysm and she was amazing with us and he was then life flighted to Pittsburgh children hospital. I’m so thankful and blessed he is with us today. Thank you so much Dr.Ashley .

This is how you should be treated in a hospital!

I was at the hospital for some blood tests ordered by my
primary care provider (Dr. Kern). While I have always
dreaded blood tests because I REALLY HATE needles
and I have always felt the process, and not in a good way. They have ALWAYS hurt. BUT this was different, I
didn't feel anything. In fact, the nurse had the needle
in and was drawing blood before I knew it.
THIS WAS THE MOST PAINLESS BLOOD TEST I HAVE
EVER HAD. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL
TO ANYONE. I was truely and pleasntly surprised.
