The Read Queen Bookstore

Super cute, charming, local store that boasts an eclectic array of books and other oddities, all tucked away in a delightfully cozy atmosphere. There is also an amazing café staffed with friendly faces and delicious treats. I just finished a book and needed the next one in the series, it was so nice to just walk across the street to my local store <3 I am looking forward to reading on their patio with a coffee all summer.

I’m so happy to have found this place!!! So many books and trinkets to choose from!!! The matcha from the coffee shop was perfection!!! I like that there are used books + blind books options. The used books have cute little gold stars on their spines. The Read Queen has just about everything!!! The staff are all incredible people. Can’t wait to come back!!!

everyone there! we loved the blind date book we chose and the book we bought based off of a staff pick recommendation posted. the seats and tables around to drink coffee and peruse are greatly appreciated! the selection of books available both new and used is vast and varied, again truly something for everyone to enjoy. also, another token of appreciation for the available space to lock up bikes for people who didn’t drive! shop local indie bookstores!!!

What a charming little place for books and coffee! I wish we would have checked this place out earlier. I really enjoyed my mocha latte and my husband loved his cortado. Kids also loved this cute kids area with toys and books. We left happy with some books and coffee. All the staff were nice and friendly as well. We will be coming back for sure!

Great People, and a cozy shop... excellent selection in science, kids and all sorts of fascinating historical topics. For a small store its packed with goodies... I got these books there. Worthy of reading twice they were so good.

Beautiful indie book shop! They have a nice mix of books (both new and used), local trinkets, and coffee. They take great care in helping people find the right books. Can’t wait to go back!

One of my favorite places in Lafayette. Welcoming, friendly, great place to meet friends for a delicious spicy chai or coffee. They always have great reading recommendations and interesting new books.

Places like this need to exist. It is one of the unique pleasures of living life in a small, connected community. The girls working were so friendly and welcoming, as was everyone who seemed to enter. This experience simply cannot be emulated by sipping Starbucks with an Amazon book on some crowded city block. I will be coming back often! The rooibos almond milk latte was possibly the best thing I've had outside of Europe (sorry if that sounds pretentious but anyone who's been to Europe knows our stuff can rarely compete 😂) I'm already craving a second one and might just need to take my partner back there after work. Plus you can never have too many books right?! I know convenience and pricing often drive people to online book shopping, but their prices seem REALLY competitive, and for a couple dollars more than Amazon books, and a few less than Starbucks drinks, Id rather support this place 💛 hope you can too!

Adorable place with immaculate vibes. Packed with a fantastic selection of books and gifts. The coffee was fantastic and the staff were wonderful. I only wish their location was larger so I could experience more of their curated selection and ambiance.

Cute and cozy. Good coffee. WiFi. Many little gift ideas beyond books. However, I wish there were more indoor seating. Although the place is quite small. There are only two two-person tables inside along with some lounge chairs. Many outdoor tables in warmer seasons. Highly recommended nonetheless.

The Read Queen is an absolute treasure! The staff is so friendly and helpful and their collection of books, board games, jewelry, toys, and gifts (not to mention a wonderful coffee bar!) is so well curated. I have found some of my kids' favorite books there as well as unique gifts that I would never have discovered through online shopping. The Read Queen is a real gem!

This place is great! I called on two different occasions to see if they had the bizarre item I was looking for on that day and they did both times! I didn't have any trouble parking even though this is old town Lafayette. The staff is very helpful and kind. Grab a coffee and a book and enjoy some snacks. There's plenty of seating outside and in. There is even a little lounge area that is in another building. It shares a parking lot with Cherry's Cheesecakes. This is a fun spot! I've found my new favorite place.

The Read Queen is a quaint, yet abundantly full and vibrant bookstore! The staff is very sweet and courteous and there is a lot to choose from! They also have some beautiful little cards and gift ideas! (Not to mention the spicy honey chai latte is to die for!) I will be visiting often!

This place is Nancy Meyers heaven! It’s the world’s most perfect bookshop with incredibly kind staff, delicious coffee, and an atmosphere that begs for you to be wearing an Icelandic sweater and oversized mittens. It’s a book lovers paradise!

Such a great selection! I love how each shelf has staff recommendations, makes the whole place feel personal and loved. Great food, a really good London fog (which is hard to find) and a nice, quiet reading room nearby.

Readers paradise. Wonderful bookstore with great hand-picked selections, with a cafe and coffee reading room. And a nice separate kids-books area.

What a cute little bookstore! I was here yesterday and was surprised by how big the selection was for being the size it is. Just goes to show that size doesn't matter! This bookstore is definitely for tall people like me, though it is not as easy to navigate as someone short like my partner. That being said, there is very friendly staff that I'd always be willing to help. Cute store, great atmosphere, and I found a book that I didn't think was still being sold, so that was cool!
