Calfkiller Brewing Company

We're on a trip to Cookeville TN for the week. As usual we like to check out local breweries in the area. Sort of located in the middle of nowhere, weren't even sure that GPS brought us to the right location. We loved this place, it's in the top top five breweries we've visited. Great choice beers, they do rotate. The prices are amazing, $4 pints!

What a unique little brewery. I wasn't so sure driving out here but I am greatly pleased with this spot. Limited beer list but available for tasters, pints and growlers. Cool vibe to this spot. They also had a food truck. Good music playing when we were there. Definitely a spot to try.

Great little spot to enjoy some local Sparta brewed beer. They are only open til 4 pm central most nights so be aware that this is a lunch time spot. Last call is at 3:45. they have lots seasonal and small batch beers to sample and try. The bartenders were very friendly and had great recommendations for the beers. Tons of merch and a beautiful Biergarten to relax in.

This brewery is a true gem! They have a wide selection of brews that make it easy to find a selection you’ll love. We went there on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, where. We were able to enjoy their beautiful beer garden and even enjoyed some great BBQ they had from a food truck there. I highly recommend you stop by and visit this brewery in Sparta!

This place was very cool! The staff were extremely nice and friendly! Any and all questions I had were answered.

This was my first stop on my road trip from Maryland for a weekend with my sister and it did not disappoint! The beer was as great as a the atmosphere and everyone was so welcoming. I will definitely be back!

Great place to hang out and drink a great beer. Comfortable place to sit and visit with other like people. Love the "beer garden". Although the beer is very good, they don't have a large selection to choose from and I do like a good NEIPA once in a while and they shy away from hoppy beers, I guess.

Great beer - I am not even a beer drinker and I really liked the beer! Totally delicious - Awesome spot too, nice vibe and cool environment. Great spot for dogs too! My husband loves beer and he was so impressed by the beer and everything about the brewery. New go to spot!

Amazing atmosphere and beer! It is always a treat to travel almost two hours to this brewery. I can't say I'd travel far for many but this is on the list. If you are traveling through the area make sure you stop. When you get about 15 minutes away make sure you drive slow to take in where you are, Amazing scenery! Once you enter the brewery everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable about the beer. Super cool bar area, small but cozy! Can't go wrong with any of their beer. Once you got your beer just relax in there super awesome outdoor area where you can play games, build a fire, and pet the brewery dog Claus Sergio.

My new favorite brewery in TN. Fantastic people, great beer, awesome food truck, perfect atmosphere! The kind of place where you can have a great conversation with a stranger. I came alone, from Chattanooga, and had a great time!

The warm & personable feel of the place is great. It is way out in the country just so you know. I love it! It is so welcoming and everyone is so friendly. All these traits breweries tend to lose once they get too big. So glad to see a brewery keeping everything in order and in the family. Highly recommend the tour with Don! Very informative and a lot of fun. You'll love the PowerPoint presentation! These guys are down to earth and care about making a great balanced product. I'm really looking forward to everything they have in the works with their other property. It will definitely continue to be a destination for me!

Wow! I found this hidden gem after a long hike yesterday. I can't say enough good things about this place. The employees, brewers and even the other patrons were so friendly and welcoming. I tried 2 different beers out of the 4 that they had on tap and the lovely woman behind the bar was very knowledgeable about them both and they were both amazing. I even took some of the Grassroots to go! They have a cute little shopping area when you walk in and there are some fantastic products from some of the local vendors around town as well. They make their own soaps here too and they smell amazing. I can't wait to come back!

Recently sanpled a Calfkiller pint at the Outback in Cookeville. When I learned it was a microbrewery I would be able to visit, I made a plan to stop by when I had to travel to Sparta, TN. At the time I decided to sample a small growler of the Sergio's Ole Ale and with a straight face I can say that Sergio's Ale from the Calfkiller Brewery is currently the single best beer I have ever had. For me, it hits my tongue -- jist right, found it to be an excellent complement to steak. Nice job, can't wait to visit again soon.

Very friendly staff. Multiple people came speak with us. 1st taste tour. Its in the country. Excellent setup. Dog friendly. Had a couple of fire pits going.

Unique brewery in the country, great vibe! Outdoor patio was great and dog friendly which we love. Beers rotate often.

I don't know why this place means what it means to me. I love the beer. The people are warm and jovial; heck they feel like family... The smell of wood fire and a slight chill in the air. But what I feel here goes beyond any of that. There's an aura about it. Like I'm walking with friendly ghosts on hallowed ground. When I'm here there's nowhere I'd rather be. My wife and I have visited three or four times and it strikes me the second we come over that hill. Love to the team here and thanks for what you do. It's more than just beer.

Kudos to this brewery for making beers that are enjoyable without adding the bazaar flavor combos like so many others do. Rita was awesome, giving us a taste and explanation of each beer on tap (only 4 on their menu board, but she served us 2 others that were "in back"). All were solid, fresh and unique. Also, nice outdoor seating area for warmer days!
