Love the vets, techs, and staff. They care and treat your pet right. My dog doesn't like them, but she likes no vet, so dont listen to her. I love them!

This review is long overdue, as we relocated to Raleigh at the start of the year and established care at the Person Street location shortly after we settled in. The staff is so friendly and we've been so pleased with the care provided to our senior pup by Dr. Hamilton and Dr. Sawyer.
We had an after hours emergency recently, and the sister location on South Saunders was experiencing a high volume of ER patients at the time I called to let them know we were on the way. They referred us to a competitor with a shorter wait time, and we were seen immediately, reinforcing my belief that Oak Heart truly prioritizes the safety and well-being of their clients/fur babies. Thank you Oak Heart for the wonderful care you provide.

My puppy became a patient in 2019 when we moved to dt Raleigh from Apex. I was a little worried when City Ver was bought out and that we would receive less personalized attention. I am glad we stayed because the care has been consistent and my girl is genuinely seen for her 💞

We love this vet! We see Dr. Hamilton- she is truly the best! She is very good at what she does and her approach is calm and supportive. She offers different options for diagnosis and treatment of a pet depending on your situation and options available. We saw her multiple times when we had an elderly diabetic cat and she helped us navigate treating him the best we could while also keeping him happy and comfortable. We wanted to avoid stressing him too much with extensive testing & procedures. She listened to us, saw the relationship we had with our kitty, and helped us navigate what was best for him while taking his feisty personally into account. Although we were able to control his diabetes fairly well, we ultimately helped him cross the rainbow bridge after he developed a rapidly growing cancer. Dr. Hamilton made it so peaceful and comfortable - just what we would have wanted. Dr. Hamilton now cares for our 7 month old puppy and Peaches LOVES going to the vet. Even when getting her vaccines she was always comfortable and happy to say hello to the staff. There’s nobody we trust more and the staff is always available to help answer questions and guide you when you need it. I’ve recommended this vet to all of our friends and will continue to do so. Thank you!

Oak Heart Vet on Person is such a great place for my little old ladies. My two 17 year old cats are high anxiety because of a bad experience at a vet office when they were little. Oak heart has a soft hand working with them and worked to get them on a sedative regimen for visits that makes things easier. They have taken great care of my girls who are starting to have kidney and thyroid disease and have taken the time to help me find the best kidney diet for my cats even when they are picky eaters and we have to go back to the drawing board repeatedly on food and medication delivery. They really are so kind and patient with the animals!

Couldn't recommend this place more! I moved back to the area and decided to take my English Bulldog back here because we were always roomed immediately after arriving - this was very important to me as he was not dog friendly, and they made so many accommodations for him to keep him and the other animals safe in the facility. He had suffered from allergies, and seemed to be getting more chronic ear infections. Dr. Sawyer suggested that I switch his food to a reasonably priced plan (because who doesn't love saving $$$ while also taking care of their fur baby?!) and his ear infections never came back.

Not only is this a great location, but they're less than a 10 minute drive from their emergency vet facility. The staff there helped me through the decision to say goodbye to my little man, gave me the time and privacy to say goodbye, and were compassionate and sympathetic through the entire visit. I want to thank you all so much for caring for my best friend while I had him!

Took my dog here for the first time last week & they were more than accommodating. They were so good with him & made us feel like we'd gone there forever! Very personable & made sure my dog was comfortable - would definitely recommend!

Dr. Rebecca Hamilton is wonderful. She has been looking after our family dogs Gizmo and Rocco. What a smart, kind and caring Veterinarian. Our family and pets are lucky to have her as our doc!

My dogs got their annuals here and my pup, Finley, got his first ever dental. They did great and his teeth were sparkling despite his history with heart issues. They were able to fit my other dog in as well in the same day that he wasn't feeling well. I appreciate their accommodations to my little pack.

I have been going to this vet for a few years. The staff and doctors are always very thorough and caring. I have had several same day appointments needed in the past year and they always find a way to accomodate me or find me another option. Dr. Ekblad and Dr. Sawyer are amazing and friendly. Henry and Bailey love going there :)

Really loved this vet. It was clean, comfortable and had a great vibe to it overall. Julie and Dr. Barnes went the extra mile for our cats and I felt they were really genuine. Everything was also transparent which is a big deal to me personally with no hidden fees and I was also able to comfort my cat during her testing so she wasn’t scared or alone. It’s really refreshing finding a place we can trust as this has been a source of stress after a couple of visits to different doctors elsewhere that didn’t have the same level of compassion for animals. Thank you so much for the help today!

It actually pains me to write this review as I loved this vet for both our dogs for over a year. They seemed to really care about our dogs and answered our questions every time we called or took our dogs there. This last week one of our dogs needed a dental cleaning and she seemed to do wonderful after the procedure and they answered all of our questions.

That night she didn’t seem to be reacting well to the anesthesia nor the morning after as she whimpered the entire night and couldn’t keep food or water down. We called City Vet the morning after and they told us to keep an eye on her and call at 12 pm if she didn’t seem better. She wasn’t better so we called and the receptionist who answered didn’t realize she was not on mute and complained to staff in the background that “it was those owners again and they’ve already called twice”. We heard responses in the background saying “oh god” and “you know how they are” which was directed at us. Mind you we only called once and we told to call back if our dog did not get any better.
We realized than that they were nice to our faces but that changed once we left.

Due to this, we have now found a new vet. We did speak with another individual at CityVet who was very nice and apologetic for what happened so we are thankful for that.

Update (12/15/2021): Since our last above experience, we have been back to the newly branded clinic and not only have they remedied our last experience but they are again offering the great service that we had gotten use to before the above happened. We will definitely keep them as our primary vet now. I have also changed my review to 5 stars.

Great vet. The staff is so friendly and really really care about their animals. We started taking our year old dog here after clinical, sterile, *expensive* visits to a chain vet who seemed just out to make a buck. But CityVet is reasonably priced, and has taken great care to help our pup and walk us through treatment options.

Absolutely fantastic!! The staff is uber friendly and efficient. Prices here are also reasonable. I just moved here from TN and was nervous about finding another vet. Glad I chose the most perfect place for our pet!!! I will be a loyal customer so long as I am in the area.

I bring my four pets (two dogs and two cats) here for their regular checkups, dental care, and anything else that might be needed for them. I always feel reassured and at peace when I talk to the staff and doctors here. They treat my pets with kindness and are very helpful and understanding of my pets not being very cooperative sometimes. Overall, this is the best vet in Raleigh and I wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else.

I've been going to CityVet for about 4 years now for various dogs of mine. I've always been really happy with the quality of care my dogs get. I live in Cary and have a vet within walking distance of me but I much prefer CityVet and am happy to make the drive. Lately we have been seeing Dr. Sawyer and I really like her! She takes the time to get to know my dogs before jumping right into the exam, which as the owner of two anxious dogs I really appreciate. I understand the vet industry is currently super overwhelmed and struggling so I really appreciate how timely and accommodating the people at CityVet are.

I was able to quickly schedule a same day appointment for my sick dog. They were very friendly and my dog was very comfortable there. They gave her so many treats too! They were very open with their costs and gave me an estimate of everything before any treatment was given. They even provided a way for me to do a payment plan (Carecredit) if I found the treatment was too much. I found their prices very reasonable and I was actually expecting to pay a lot more. I made another appointment to come back for my dog's vaccines once she's feeling better.
