Vista Point Boat Launch Parking, Jordan Lake recreation area

A great place to spend the evening. Good star spotting place.

Pick a nice day and pack a picnic and head here for the solitude and scenery!
Plenty of sites to choose or pull near the water and stay in your car.
Bathrooms are convenient at several different locations
You can watch sailboats almost any day
This spot is far enough off the main road you will not hear any traffic ... you need binoculars to see the nearest road and bridges ... If you go early you could be fortunate to spot osprey or eagles...
Just a very short distance off NC Hwy 64 in fact it is so close you will not believe how remote it feels only a very few miles off the main road ... less than 5 miles!
Do drop by ... you will not be disappointed.

Came here for a short hike, here we saw an osprey family on top of that man made pole, 2 babies were fed with a fresh caught fish by parent bird! Too bad we didn’t have binoculars.

I've only used the facilities here for boat launch. Floating docks are well maintained and huge parking area is excellent for rigging/de-rigging sail boats.

The camping facilities were full, but another state park on the other side of the lake had plenty of waterfront camping with water, shower, and restroom facilities.

We got there after 4 pm and it was quiet not many people there. Just stopped to cool off from being at the zoo all day. Didn't pack bathing suits or towels but it was nice.

Came to paunch paddlboards. Easy access, abundant parking (free), and not too busy around 1000 on a Sunday, would come back! FYI, no bathrooms.

The beach at Vista Point is for the launching of Multi-Hull Sailboats. It is not a public swimming beach. Visitors are required to yield to sailboats and should not be in the water off the beach. Sailboats have knife edge rudder and daggerboards and collision with a sailboat can result in a serious injury.

One of the quieter areas of the park. Great spot for watching Ospreys and Eagles too!

This place is never open every time I've tried to come here but on 10/11/20 it was open & beautiful

Jordan lake has no shortage of outdoor activities, boating being one of the largest.

Incredibly clean facilities for group camping and excellent grills and fire pits.

Beautiful views. Clean restrooms.
