What a great find! We were unexpectedly in the outskirts of Charlottesville and looking for a place to grab a meal. Really impressed at the quality of food from this place. Started off with a bread basket and pimento cheese stuff hush puppies (who knew that this would be so good!). The pasta with smoked meat was superb and the ‘BBQ Sundae’ was everything you’d expect from a good BBQ meal. Hopefully we will find ourselves back in this area again.

The lady who waited our table is an absolute treasure. Everything was fantastic, all is homemade and made to order. Not a large menu, but a delightful one. Pro-tip: they do chicken and dumplings on Tuesdays and they apparently they always sell out.

My Nana found this place after visiting Goodwill, and we decided to give it a go. The atmosphere is very homey, and they have a chalkboard wall that displays some of the best jokes that people say. It's so cute and personal. I got a cinnamon roll, and she got the sandwich they're known for, the Croby. It came with a side of fries, and when I tried one, I ended up having to order some for myself. Absolutely delicious, the parmesean cheese and seasoning were awesome.

My friend brought me here after a morning hike near by. My expectations were high because my friend had talked this place up. I’m happy to report my expectations were surpassed. This hole in the wall, mom and pop shop is just what the heart desires. Home down soul food with a modern twist. The I ingredients are simple but the orchestration is unique. The flavors and combinations of sauces and textures make this place unforgettable.

I had cornbread topped with lean Carolina style pulled pork and chicken mix, covered in homemade pimento cheese sauce, homemade bbq sauce with a side of bbq collard greens. Although the food was out of this world good that’s not the best part.

The best part is the owner working as a wait staff. This lady is the nicest person I’ve meet in a long while. She came over to our table to check on us and we continued to have a conversation for 10min. I learned about the history and how she comes up with recipe ideas!!

Overall a great place to visit for lunch or dinner. Highly recommend for families or singles on a quick date. Have fun and enjoy this delicious food and family!

My absolute favorite weekend breakfast spot in town. My husband and I visit almost every weekend. They seriously make THE best French toast…nothing fancy, just simple French toast that is perfectly seasoned and cooked. My husband is a huge fan of the biscuits and gravy, as well. Their omelets and biscuit sandwiches are also excellent. Can’t speak too much to their lunch and supper menus but I imagine they’re delicious. Being a family owned and operated business, we are always welcomed like we’re one of their own.

My girlfriend and I chose to have breakfast here. We enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere. Our server was the matriarch of the family-owned business. She was very accommodating, full of suggestions, and gave of a very southern vibe. The food was absolutely delicious! We plan to return for Tuesday’s Chicken and dumplings! We think this place is a hidden gem of Charlottesville!

I randomly encountered "Croby's Urban Viddles" on Thursday at 1 PM. I almost didn't: the name did not sound appealing at all. But I'll try anything once, so what the hell. I am glad I did.

I ordered the "Croby's Sandwich", which turned out to be pulled pork with cole slaw and a zesty chutney (similar in texture to relish, but not pickle-based). The bread was good, the sandwich was good, it was all good. The server suggested the tater tots, so I had those as a side. They were crispy and had a good tasting seasoning (and not too salty, which was a pleasant surprise). They came with a Thousand Island style dipping sauce, which I ate all of.

It wasn't a huge lunch: this is not a place where you spend $5 and fill up on cardboard. But it was a good-sized sandwich and a good amount of tater tots, and I was definitely satisfied. I am rarely in that part of town, but I do hope they are still there the next time I am.

Hands down the best tater tots I have had in my life! Friendly staff and great food; family owned. Prices are very affordable as well. Would definitely come back again!

Ordered several things but the best was the chicken and grits! I would come back just for that tots!

We were all really happy that we found this local restaurant while passing through Charlottesville. Have to thank Google reviews and photos. The restaurant is not big but immediately felt like home. The few main entrees are very unique, I bet that you wouldn’t find them anywhere else. They serve both breakfast and lunch, we decided to try their special creations by the three cousins. They were all very good, however my son thought the BBQ sauce were too sweet. I had to agree with him. It is a well managed family restaurant that officers good food and relaxing environment. Service was wonderful. One of the older lady who served us told us that her son Michael created the Macaroni dish which was my daughter’s favorite. The lady and her sister come on weekend during lunch to help out their children at the restaurant. What a sweet family! You can taste all the love in their food.

Met up with friends in Charlottesville is 1/2 way. Picked Crobys for late lunch. Very happy we did. Everything delicious. Unique lunch in a Ball jar, but it was so good. Try the Pineapple cake too. 😋 Yum

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant from the great tasting food to the warm service we received. Our first experience was so great we made a point to return on the way back home. Even the other customers were shouting out recommendations when we ordered the seafood chowder special and BBQ sundae. The mashed cauliflower is a must have. I even ordered more to go, twice. This gem will.remain on my list of places to go whenever I'm in the area. Tell a friend!

Rob and Shannon are the best caterers. Great especially for Hoo graduation events. Friendly and full of smiles. French toast, muffins, mimosas and roasted veggies were highlights.

This is a family owned, country, comfort food resturant, and its obvious from the moment you walk in. my family was greeted when we walked in by one of the owners. (didn't know who he was at the time) and he was also our server. I mention this because the service was great, they are very friendly and the environment ... Its a cozy. AS FOR THE FOOD... they have an amazing asortment of comfort food... all of it looked really good, my chicken was great and i recommed the fried pickels if you like them these are really good. I highly recommend this place, if you are in the area and are looking for some comfort food that won't break the bank stop by this place.

What a great place to eat! We went here for breakfast the first time today and were waited on by one of the “moms”. Service was friendly and they are extremely happy that you’re there. Food was excellent and we were lucky enough to be there when they had cinnamon rolls. Lots of things on their menu are made from scratch (and delicious). Headed back this week for dinner to try some more stuff. It’s a fantastic place to eat!

Nice establishment with great breakfast and friendly staff. Small, cozy restaurant with limited seating, so plan ahead or plan on a wait. Had their sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit with their hash browns which were cooked perfectly. Also had their cinnamon roll which was delicious.

Absolutely amazingly friendly staff, we felt like Sandy was serving us at her own home! French toast was heavenly, and the burrito was enormous (and equally delicious!)
They're making the best they can through the COVID situation, and have a couple friendly picnic tables where we ate outside.

First time ever and we loved it! We sat in a booth which my daughter loved since she could write with chalk on the wall. The staff were so friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious! I got the Dippin' Mac and it was fantastic! Will definitely be back.

This is a great place for a family lunch, bluegrass music, and Southern comfort meals. The chalk board area for each table is a hit with our son and us 😁. We had so much fun drawing that we almost forgot to order our meal. Lol. Super friendly staff with great recommendations. The waffle fries is a must try. Their sampler appetizer was amazing. Our son couldn't stop eating the fried pork poppers. They could get busy. If you want to sit at the booth to use the chalk board walk, is suggest to come early

Great place to get BBQ and some comfort food. Had the stuffed hushpuppies. They were cooked perfectly and had a lot of flavor. Also had the BBQ sundae. It was a great mixture of pretty much everything they have. The only thing about that dish is, everything is mixed together. So if you want to taste everything separately, not the way to go. It was delicious though! My table also had the hot mess muffins (probably my first choice for a revisit) and the Cuban. Both were very good as well. Over all a great meal with very friendly service.
