Kahale's Maui's Local Dive Bar

Well this is a place where a lot of local people from the island go.so you get visitors and they get to see and experience Island living ,and our daily lives, are our struggles, and successes.but this place is different from others...because you meet people that live here they're not tourists. so tourists can meet locals and get a taste of what it's like to live on Maui. So this isn't a normal place where they serve food but all the locals bring food.

Awesome little bar with amazing friendly owners! Great atmosphere makes you feel like your home. If your on vacation and need a nice Mello place to have a drink, stop at Kahale's!

So, I traveled to Kihei by myself from 30 Aug to 3 Sept. After exploring the island during the day, I was thirsty and wanted to grab some drinks and meet some people.

Sure, Tiki is kind of cool because of the "Hawaii" look to it. What Ales You has some craft beer, okay whatever. There's also that club type of place in case I wanted to relive my 20s (Not happening, I'm 36).

But this place? I felt like I was at home at local dive bars in Tempe and Chandler, AZ. Beverages were cold and cheap (Don't listen to that scrub who complained about prices. $4 Bud Lights and $5.50 Fireballs are more than reasonable). The female bartender, whose name I forgot, was super cool and actually remembered me each time I came in, which was usually around 18:00. And if you're staying around Kam I-III, this place is located close by.

In the end, I was stoked to find this hidden gem. I'm already planning another Oahu and Maui trip around May/June, and will literally go out of my way to come here again. Even if I have to take a $40 Uber each way from Lahaina. Cheers! 🍻🤘

Didn’t try any of their food but the drinks and atmosphere was amazing. Luckily came during a former coworkers wedding and their staff was nothing but friendly and welcoming! Would highly recommend and I’ll plan on visiting next time I’m on Maui!

Exactly what you look for in a dive bar. They have good prices, its dimly lit, and there's a pool table; the only thing missing is stale cigarette smoke. It's less of a tourist crowd, at least in the afternoon portion of the day. I'm not sure how the bar is at night but a few of the surrounding bars can get rowdy around 10pm. The bartender (Matt?) was really pleasant and attentive

My favorite dive bar in Maui

Cold beer in tall glasses and a fun atmosphere. What’s not to like. Only thing is that I wanted to get nachos and the kitchen closed at 8 so I had to settle for onion rings. Turns out they were bomb as hell onion rings!!! Would go again

We always have a couple of beers here when in Maui. Yesterday 3.2.22 we had a few more and they were truly the coldest beers! Period!!! Great vibe in this dive bar.

This place was awesome. We stumbled in because we could hear the live music. Would def recommend going in on a Tuesday night to check out some bluegrass tunes. Those boys can pick their instruments. There are also like 6 other bars all in the same parking lot.

Met the owners today. They're extremely friendly with great personalities on top of that. it was a pleasure meeting them and hearing about they're awesome live bands that they have along with great bar service and always a fun atmosphere.

Great music often plays there. The owners r sweet congenial people and their friends who come into the bar make u feel at home. Altho I'm not a drinker nor a frequented of dark seedy bars, Kahale's is an exception and exceptional! Dare to enter this dive bar u won't b disappointed unless someone too drunk is losing it.

Britt is such an amazing bar tender!!!!! My two friends and i walked into the bar to grab a drink and had the whole place yo ourselves! Britt treated us so well and made us feel so included. A great girls night thanks to that girl. Hooked us up with some great swag and made drinks to die for. Thanks for the wonderful experince Britt!

Great local bar. Visited after work yesterday and was a very nice bar, super friendly staff, live music, and cold beverages. Recommend for everyone.

Bachelor party here 1-15-19 for a friend. Decided to take a chance here and everyone is unbelieveably happy we ended up here. Sumner and his wife who are the owners introduced themselves and made us feel very welcome. Cant recommend this place enough. 5/5 or a 10/10

Stopped in for a quick beer! What a great choice...! This is my type of bar and the drinks were priced very reasonable. I wish this bar was closer to home for me...
