Keawala'i Congregational Church

We shot a micro destination wedding at Keawala`I Congregational church in February. This church is located by the beautiful water with amazing corals - the areal shot could capture their beautiful building, ocean and the mountain backdrop. Both getting ready office building and the church had ample light; especially the church had windows on both sides so it was easy for us to shoot indoors. We had Chinese tea ceremony on the greenery side, and that side of the building had nice shades and cute white framed windows where was perfect for some getting ready shots. We walked to a near by beach to take some photos before the ceremony, and went to Makena cove for the post wedding shots. It’s a perfect church for an intimate wedding like theirs. I truly enjoyed shooting here for both photo and video.

Beautiful church set in tropical setting. Went to Easter service and very welcoming people. Pastor gave a very nice service and the singers were awesome. Thank you for making our Easter even more special.

This sweet little old church is one of our favorite places on earth. Whenever we’ve been lucky enough to be in Maui, we look forward to the warm aloha we always receive at Keawala’i. 🌺

We accidentally discovered this wonderful church over 30 years ago. Every time we're in Maui, we try to stop by and say hello. There's so much history here. Be sure to wander through the cemetery and read the headstones. The views are beautiful.

Hanathan and I seen a "Fireball" at night along the Church shoreline, back in high school. Went from the size of a cherry on a cigarette moving around spiraticly, to the size of a shock put ball, in a matter of minutes.. stopped, Then zipped straight up into the sky and vanished. Unforgettable 🤨🤔😲😨😰😱🤯🤯🤯 🙏🙏🙏🤙

We attended their Christmas Eve Service. It was wonderful.

We were visiting Maluaka Beach and had issues with our rental car. We entered the Keawala'i Church and John immediately called our rental car company's roadside assistance. Many thanks to John for his generosity and his help! Without him, it would have been a very long walk back to our hotel. Although we never attended the worship services, if we lived here, we probably would! :)

We came back to Maui this trip especially for the retirement service for pastor Kahu after his 29 years of service. This is our church away from home with a very loving and welcome ing congregation.

We have attended services here several times and it is a unique cultural experience. We always look forward to having the opportunity to go to church here. It is one of our highlights when we are on Maui.

This is where my wife and were married and it holds incredible memories. I have never felt as grounded as I was here. In fact, we named our first child Makena after this part of the island.

I worshipped at Keawala’i UCC for the first time this past Sunday. The aloha was palpable. Folks were very friendly and the services were very moving. Incredible music!
