Paia Fish Market South Side

Must try if you are in the area. Fresh and tasty fish - had calamari strips great way to have calamari really liked it 4.8 out of 5, fish tacos ( forgot to get picture) 4 out of 5 and blackened snapper salad 5 out of 5. Fun, place to hang out and eat. We met some very nice people while dining at the tables outside. It was very busy when we went and we had to wait in line 20 minutes, however, Once you order the food come super fast and the service is very friendly.
Worth the 20 min wait!

We walked down from pacific shores condos for what was a very delicious and memorable lunch! The fish and shrimp were incredibly fresh. We had the chowder ( 3/5), deep fried shrimp (5/5), fish tacos (5/5), fish and chips 5/5 and the onion rings 5/5. Magic sauce is so delicious!! Very small place but didn’t have to wait long for a table. Can’t comment on parking as we walked. Cute seating area. Sorry forgot to take food pictures but everything was plated with care and attention. Order inside and then find a table. Service was exceptional.

Delicious and welcoming! We split the fish plate: blackened snapper on rice with coleslaw ($26)... and the seafood salad, blackened Mahi Mahi with 2 shrimp cocktail and served with a tangy papaya dressing ($17). Waited 30m to order, but it came out in under 5m. Both pieces of fish were juicy and tender, perfectly seasoned. Fresh and flavorful!

Traveled to Maui for the first time and our friends highly recommended Paia. The blackened mahi did not disappoint, and their seared tuna was delicious. Calamari was great as well, and there is something special about their tartar sauce that keeps you going back in for another dip.

Ended up going back twice during our short stay. Great informal please to eat some fresh catch in an open air setting. We never waited more than a few minutes for food to come out.

Waited almost an hour, I ordered blackened mahi mahi, fried shrimp and ahi sashimi. Everything was delicious and fresh. If I have to do it all over again, I probably won’t wait an hour. I would call ahead to place a Togo order and it’ll be ready within 20mins instead of standing in-line for an hour.

We loved the food and atmosphere so much we went back the next day. I even got a shirt from here! All the food was awesome! Burgers, fish or shrimp tacos, grilled or blackened fish, home fries and Cajun rice and choppy coleslaw. Everything cooked to perfect and served fairly quickly. Bonus, the seating is outside and baby chick's walked around our feet while we ate.

Unpretentious fish market with fresh plates, burgers, tacos, and more. The cajun style snapper and blackened ahi were stupendous. We stopped by this location and the one in Honolulu, and both were great. Paia is a local staple for good reason.

Normally wary of fish due to the lingering fishy taste, we decided to try the Mahi Mahi charbroiled and the Blackened Snapper - they were downright delicious. The staff's recommendation was a wise move, and we were seriously tempted to make a return visit during our trip. Without a doubt, some of the best food we had on our trip. Mahalo!

Very fresh fish. Got the ono/wahoo blackened plate. Nice firm texture white fish perfectly seasoned and blackened, over cajun rice and side of crisp Cole slaw. Really enjoyed it. Food came out within 5 minutes and the staff was super friendly. Would highly recommend.

Paia was a great stop for a fish dinner. You line up to order, then you find a table. This seems to work out very well. I had the Ono with Cajun seasoning with Cajun rice. The Ono has a light taste so Cajun seasoning works very well with it. Portion size will not leave you hungry. My wife had the seafood pasta dish. The pasta and sauce were delicious and it was loaded with mahi and ono. Again portion size will not leave you hungry. On the list for return visits.

Order at the counter. $22 for a huge piece of tender flaky mahi mahi with crunchy chunky Cole slaw and fries or rice or potatoes. $6 clam chowder soup, $10 glass of wine. They bring it to your picnic type table looking across the street at park and sunset. Nice people. Locals favorite.

Incredible dining experience. Went for lunch twice during our stay in Maui. The cheeseburger was so good, and the various fish menus were a joy to taste. Absolutely recommend for a casual meal.

Both this one and the one on Paia are consistent with great food and service. The vibe is cool too! Love getting the blackened Mahi Salad here now a days. Used to do the fish sandwich, but i just love getting the two jumbo shrimps with it.

the lines here are understandable. one of the best meals we had on the island - i loved my cajun mahi mahi! with the salad, it’s a perfect balance.

Absolutely love the freshness of this place. Took my family here and got the fresh catch plate. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. This is a fantastic spot for a casual bite to eat or even a date night. Will be back!

We called ahead. Grabbed a bottle of wine and took our takeout to the beach. Reasonably priced. Excellent quality.

This place is incredible! The staff are so friendly, and the food was amazing. We came to eat every other day of our trip, once as takeout to eat later at our hotel. Only once was there a long line, but the other times it was very quick with a small line. We tried the tacos, the salad, fish plates, the burger and the clam chowder. Our favorites were the tacos and fish plates. 10/10 would recommend!! At least try it once :)

Informal atmosphere, great fresh fish and service. We waited in line about 10 min maybe, and well worth it.

We came at 12:00pm on a Friday and were helped quickly at the counter by the friendly employees. After ordering we found great shady seating outside and were brought all five of our plates in about five minutes. Everything was so delicious from the fish to the chicken. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. This was our first time here but I will definitely be making a trip here every time I come to Maui. (Everything was so good we forgot to take pictures).
