We were visiting from Texas, did several searches and Awakening seem like the one. Whoa! Everyone was so welcoming, nice and made us instantly feel like we belong there and we were Church family. After Service Pastor Stephen was just as opening & welcoming. He took time to talk with us, listen as if we were the only ones there even though there was obviously others waiting for him. If you're visiting Maui & need a Church to attend on a Sunday or if you're Blessed to live on this beautiful Island I recommend Awakening Church. The Holy Spirit is Alive in this place. It was our 23rd Anniversary on this Sunday July 18,2021. What a Blessing to us & our family with us. Thank You!

Real people serving a very real God. We’ve had the great honor of getting to see this church in action for the last 6 months and wow God is working here. It’s a small church and with that you get a very connected, caring and personal group of believers here that will make anyone feel so welcomed and loved.

Husband and wife duo- Stephan and Amber are absolutely fulfilling a calling from God. Amber can sing and worship with the best and Stephan has an incredible way of weaving scripture with his own life experiences in a way that will not only keep you entertained but give you lessons to take away. This church isn’t viral or trendy but it’s so so real and will help you in your walk with God. Don’t miss this opportunity!

We arrived in Maui late on a Saturday and wanted to find a church to go to Sunday. We found Awakening on Google and were so, so pleased we attended that next morning. Pastor Stephen and Amber made the experience incredible. Not only are you in Maui sitting on a rooftop with an incredible view, but the amazing music, incredible sermon, and relation to real life made it all so very special. I look forward to visiting every time we are in Maui and plan to follow them online. Really started our morning (and trip) out right! Highly recommend them if you are in the area or live in Maui and are looking for a home church!

You could feel the Holy Spirit in this place! Pastor and his wife are real and are amazing vessels for the Lord. We will be back next time we are in Maui!

When visiting from ON Canada, we googled non denominational churches and found The Awakening church, and glad we did. Great message from pastor Stephen and great worship music and great friendly people. You should attend…you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve gone to a number of churches on this island over the last 10 years, and this is the first church where I walked in on day 1 and felt like “home.” The music is amazing and uplifting, the messages from the pastor are so encouraging and real! My kids love going to the Keiki zone every week. I look forward to coming here every week. And you can’t beat worshiping with the ocean view! You’ll be happy you came and checked it out!

Their worship center is out of this world! I loved being able to worship God in a unique and beautiful setting. The worship was authentic and the preaching was straight out of the Bible. They even had a great service for my sons. When we visit the island again, we’ll be sure to return to The Awakening Church.

Had a great time at Easter service today. Only 50 weeks until our next visit. No, not C&E only attendees. God bless all.

The Awakening is a place you get to experience Ohana and Aloha. The teaching is terrific - it connects to moms like myself. I love the fact that there is place for my kids too. While I get to sit and enjoy the message, they get to connect with other kids their age and learn about God's love for them in fun and creative ways.

So thankful to find this amazing church on Maui. The worship Pastor is so very talented. Her voice and the gorgeous views of Maui all around make you feel Gods presence immediately as the service begins. The pastor is so friendly and very down to earth. His sermons are practical with teachings you can relate to. They make you feel like Ohana.

If you live on Maui, this should be your home church! I don't, but I wanted a place to worship while on vacation, and so attended here several times. It is held "open-air" on a roof-top but with shaded cover and an amazing view. They were very welcoming and offer a lot more than worship--small groups, Bible studies, baptisms, etc. The worship team was talented, leading us in tender, loving praise, and the pastor's messages were Biblical and very relevant to real life. I highly recommend this Jesus-focused, spirit-filled church.

Attended this worship last Sunday. My spouse and I were raised in the Catholic churches and schools, it was the first non-denominational service we've ever been to. It was warm and inviting and the Leader is both inspirational and humble. Great messaging and for me, a very fresh perspective. We'll be regulars here!

Today my husband I visited the Awakening Church and were so blessed by the Presence of the Holy Spirit and getting to worship with your wonderful people. After 20 years of going to a different church each time we come we feel like we finally found a church home when we are away from home! We were in Maui for our honeymoon and decided to look up churches in the area. We chose this one because it looked like it had a similar feel as our home church. The people there were so welcoming from the second we got out of our car. Having an outside (under cover) service provided us with a great view of the scenery so it still felt like we were in Hawaii. Most importantly the pastor preached right from the Bible and didn’t shy away from difficult topics. Great experience and great family feel that I always look for in a church.

My husband and I are visiting Maui and attended “The Awakening “ church , today. The congregation was very friendly. The church had great worship and teaching. The pastor taught the Bible and it’s correlation with Science for the present series. We would highly recommend visiting this lovely church. It was evident they were a caring church with meetings during the week, also.

The Awakening Church is like no other church. It truly is a special place and I’m proud to call it my home church. Pastor Stephen and his wife Amber are amazing people who deeply love the Lord and have a desire to reach people wherever they are. I am so thankful my husband and I came upon this church. I instantly felt comfortable and seen when I walked into the beautiful open-air location (with views of palms, mountains and the ocean… I mean!! Can’t get better than that!). But truly, I felt heard and spoken to from Pastor Stephen each Sunday and we were able to actually have a relationship with him, Amber, and their sweet kids outside of Church as well. I just love this community and I know God is working in that Church. I rededicated my life to Christ and The Awakening was a BIG part of that :) <3 Praise Jesus and God Bless you All at The Awakening Church!

We were in Maui and visited The Awakening Church after browsing a few other places of worship. I wanted to attend a service with richness in biblical principles - not wanting to hear a shallow feel good sermon.
I was glad I did.
Pastor Fussle’s exegesis of Phil 4:6-9 was remarkable. The sermon focuses on Trusting in God when anxiety is riding high. To fight anxiety, one has to rely on the divine weapons of God.
Finding rest in the arms of God will help you fight back anxiety. Be still and listen to God. Anxiety will blind you in seeing the truth. What’s the truth ? Without God there’s no truth.
“Abide in my words. Then you will know the Truth. The truth shall set you free.” John 8:31-32

While vacationing on Maui it was important to me that we took time to remember the Sabbath and praise the Lord. We're never on vacation from Jesus, right?!? I did a quick check of nearby churches and considered a few. I was looking for a place my fully bearded, tattooed covered husband could wear his shorts and flip-flops and not feel uncomfortable or be a distraction to others. Based on a review of each churches website and earned online reviews - we selected The Awakening. The muffins were good, the worship was great, but the Holy Spirit inspired message was the best part. Pastor Stephen presented a holy spirit filled sermon using direct guidance from the Bible, and a little humor too. He provided great historical perspectives of scripture and gave practical and applicable suggestions on how to apply God's word to our everyday life. We were immediately welcomed at the church and extremely blessed to have been able to worship with others in Maui! If you like to attend church in a dark auditorium, sit in the back and not really engage with others - this isn't the best fit for you. But, if you appreciate a small authentic, intimate setting to engage with others in the presence of the Lord - this is your place!
