Family Private Ski Lessons

We stayed in South Lake Tahoe, but We booked our private family Ski lesson in Sierra At Tahoe Resort. Their schedule was much easier to work with in comparison to Heavenly Resort..price was about $300 less.
Our instructor , coach Debbie, was awesome. This was our first ever Ski experience, and all of us ( me and my husband just over 40 and our 7byear old daughter) were able to go up and down the slope multiple times after about 1 hour of coaching. I recommend this resort. It is usually less busy than Heavenly, prices in general are lower and the staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Bought a season pass here for the first time after multiple trips over the years. It was 1000% worth it. Buy it early for the best price. Always plenty of parking (get there EARLY on weekends /pow days) employees have all been great.

Food/beverages are pricey but pass holders get a discount. Chicken tenders & fries are $16 I think but it’s a pretty generous portion. Basket of fries is about $8. Beers run about $12 and cocktails are $16.

They also have a ton of events & live music on the weekends.

Views are great and the runs are long which I love.

Did a day trip from the bay on a beautiful day after a storm with some fresh snow! I got a discount code from Sports Basement, making my weekend/holiday day pass come out to $95. Definitely recommend doing that as skiing and snowboarding at a resort is becoming more and more of a luxury. The staff, especially food service, were very nice and respectful despite what I imagine they have to deal with on a daily basis. Also found a cool spot to park and drop in out of the parking lot to get to a lift.

Chris at the repair shop is incredibly helpful and helped out with my purchase with outstanding customer service. The mountain is beautiful, lines are short and move quickly, and there is so much wonderful terrain.
Great resort for beginners and there is more to discover as you improve.
Cannot recommend it enough!

I came here several weeks ago as part of a work event (shout out to Nugget Markets!) and I’m still thinking about how great of a time I had. I arrived with no idea how to turn both ways and thanks to Joe B, who is an excellent instructor, I now can’t wait to go skiing again with my new skills! He was incredibly encouraging and gave helpful advice that built up my confidence. I highly recommend a private lesson from him!

The food is expensive, but the gear checkout process is easy and streamlined and all of the staff were wonderful, even going to the lengths of helping me pull off my boots at the end of our day. I hope to come back soon!

Great small resort for skiing. Rarely super full so lift wait times are mostly short. Season pass is fairly cheap and offers a lot of other benefits like buddy passes and discounts on food and drinks throughout the mountain

We spent two days skiing here using our Powder Alliance passes. After exploring the area we found the best skiing in the trees off of the Grandview lift. The vert on this lift alone is 1600 ft, with nice long runs and amazing views. We were a little confused about the black diamond rating for some of the runs, most of them felt like blues to us. Lots of places to eat/rest inside and outside. Great ski hill, it was well worth the trip!

One of the last independently owned mountains in the Tahoe region, Sierra is a locals resort. They are super friendly, affordable and support their youth ski team and the region. Great ski school. Much of their terrain burnt down in the fire so what was once gladed tree skiing is now open bowls, but still great.

Sierra is like a Phoenix that's risen from the ashes! The terrain, vibes and snowfall are still top notch. While there may be fewer trees now, it's all good. Skiing Sierra post-Caldor fire is such a testament to a community banding together post fire. Massive kudos to the team to make it happen. I've spent 10x the time at Heavenly and Kirkwood in my life compared to Sierra, but finally got a pass here and am quite stoked to get to learn another amazing mountain with abundant snow. Ski you out there!

We took two ski trips there this season. The whole family had great fun! Good facilities and super friendly staff. We agree with the other reviews that if the gear rental can be a bit more streamlined, we would add another star (on top of 5-star! LOL).

The main reason for this review is because we were super impressed by the staff in the cubbies day care, Kim and Chris in particular. Their patience and kindness are out of the world! Our 4-yo daughter is quite timid about the whole ski thing, however, at the end of her 2nd day there, she is confident enough to ski down the hill with some help! We saw in the videos and pictures (yes they took those & emailed to us!), Chris was running up and down with her keeping her balanced. He probably did it 100 times. OMG! What a wonderful coach he is! I won't be able to do that with that much patience. And we know Kim's warm encouragement and kind words kept her going too. Kim was also super nice about our daughter's potty accident, she even washed everything before we picked her up and lent her some new clothes to put on (you know... parents who rushed to ski usually forget to bring extra clothes... sorry!). BTW, they took the class out skiing for at least half of the day which is amazing! Snacks and lunch are included as well. Well worth the price!

We are floored by this wonderful service provided by Sierra-at-Tahoe which not only let us ski with 0 worries and get our little girl started her journey too. We are forever grateful!

As a kid, I grew up going to Sierra and now I come here with my daughter. This place always delivers. Has a great variety of terrain. The pub is killer, great drinks and food. Highly recommend...

Love Sierra at Tahoe. Glad they've reopened after the fires. Some of the runs are very barren and hard to navigate due to the lack of trees, but the resort has done a great job of updating their maps and setting up ropes and signs

I got the FOMO pass, which is a killer deal and I’ve been up here for a few days and I’m loving it. All the employees have been super friendly the facilities are nice and the snow is just gorgeous. Oh wait, I mean no it’s terrible. Don’t come here.😂

Really the best place in Tahoe for kid's lessons (my four year old can already do full green/blue runs, she gets so much personal attention!). Also a great place to learn as an adult.

Welp… Not too bad, actually amazing! The backside or West Bowl Express has not a long line. Don’t go to Grandview Express, so many people. Only go there in the morning. The morning snow is crusty and icy. Powderhorn is not so good or bad in the morning. You can acess Powderhorn from West Bowl Express. Dogwood is not so bad in the morning and afternoon. Powderhorn has lots of powder and bumps, hence the name. Upper Sleighride is not so bad at noon but bad in the morning. Pretty much every trail is bad in the morning. Even Sugar n’ Spice. Tahoe King is next to Grandview Express, not so crowded.

Great instructors, I enjoyed the lady that’s 68 I can’t think of her name and Lucas I think is his name who instructs the beginners. I’m sorry I’m not 100 percent on his name but he’s soft spoken young guy. Really good instructor

The kids I I had a blast! There is only two lifts open right now because of lack of snow. Looking forward to coming back after a couple of stoms roll through. The staff were very nice.
