Limited parking at this trailhead. Limited parking at Emerald Bay State Park lookout too which is very close by. Go early!! We got there a little after 8am and it was almost full already. $10/day.

Beautiful trail!!! Steps for most of it. Water falls here and there on the way. Eagle Lake at the end of the trail although the trail continues if you want to go further. From the start to Eagle Lake, it took about 40 min. Prob my favorite hike of all time!

What an amazing place to check out Be there early in the morning. Parking lot is small and fills very fast. Get a permit at the trailhead if you plan to hike to Eagle Lake. It’s a steady climb all the way to the lake. It seems like it is farther than 0.9 miles. We really enjoyed ourselves by taking our time and taking in the scenery.

We parked just before the turn to this trailhead to check out the lookout which was incredible. My children had no problem along this short trail although we did not make it all the way to up to the bridge.

Had patches of snow on May 13, 2024. Despite that, it was easy and didn’t really need special equipment. First-time hikers are welcome and it’s definitely a rewarding trail. One of the best trails in Lake Tahoe.

Parking at the trailhead however the restrooms were closed.

Amazing views! Not a bad hike for beginners. Be prepared to climb semi steep paths, but most have large rocks that form steps. Walking poles made a huge difference for balance both up the trails and down. The lake is well worth the trek, very cold but we swam anyway. Crystal clear, gorgeous. The falls are beautiful. I highly recommend starting early. (Although it’s not a long hike) Plenty of shade but the cooler temps on the way up and down before noon were a game changer!

The Eagle Falls trail is a great trail that leads to the smaller Eagle Falls waterfall on the East shore of Lake Tahoe near Emerald Bay. The hike to the waterfall from the parking area is only a quarter mile so easy to access with just some incline to reach. There is a bridge which crosses the top of the falls to the other side of the stream. A great smaller and easily accessible waterfall to check out. Further past the waterfall about a mile hike from the trailhead is Eagle Lake which is a nice alpine lake surrounded by mountains.

We got there super early (630 am) and had no problem with parking but as others have said, it's super limited. The hike to eagle lake is on the top end of easy IMO, plenty of stairs on your way up to the lake. Made the trek back super easy though. Still pretty wet, so wear good shoes. The lake itself was beautiful, definitely worth it.

Beautiful hike over waterfalls and surrounded by many awesome views of the mountains, ending at a smaller lake in the hills, Eagle Lake. Not that long, however it is rather steep and there are a lot of stairs. I enjoyed it.

Absolutely love this trail. It is a good family hike. Our kids have done this trail twice, as young as 4 years old. It is difficult enough that you feel you’ve accomplished something, but not too tough.

As of our most recent trip on June 6th, 2023: There was a lot of run off. It is not impassable, but you do have to move off to the side of the trail a few times. Still fun and gorgeous at the bridge. Snow doesn’t start until just after the bridge.

Parking lot is tiny. Plan to walk to the trailhead, unless you are blessed beyond measure.

Beautiful hike!! Pretty crowded but once you get to Eagle Lake it’s a lot less busy. Really beautiful views and so worth it - definitely hike to Eagle Lake at the very least, it’s a great spot for lunch

More rocky and technical than I expected. Because I had two miniature Schnauzers we decided to take pics at the bridge and turn around. It is very scenic and worth your time.
Get here early even on a week day to secure a parking spot. It was a Wednesday and the parking was full when we left.

Great trail, easy parking (paid).

Just beware of the bathroom/outhouse at the parking lot. 🤢

Stunning hike, going all the way to eagle lake is well worth it and the water is about as cold and perfect as it comes! The views of Lake Tahoe are fantastic and the falls themselves are very impressive. The parking fills up fast so get there early or be patient

This is a 2 miles trail. I would rate it as difficult for people like me who hardly ever hike. But I have started liking it now and aiming to become a pro ! The view along the way is breath taking. Especially the unique barks of trees and placement of huge peculiar shaped stones. The silverish mountain view gives a Yosemite like feeling. I don't think I would want to go to Yosemite after experiencing this wonder. Stock up enough water and something to eat. Reach as early in the morning as possible to avoid excess heat, crowd and parking issues.

I highly recommend coming here if you are visit Lake Tahoe. It was pretty crowded so if you are hoping to avoid crowds definitely go early. There’s plenty of space so the crowds really isn’t noticeable except for finding a parking spot. You have to pay to park in the lot but street parking is free. If you hike to the bottom of the road near the castle check out the waterfall trail. There are picnic tables near the water to enjoy lunch or dinner. Also they have bathrooms!

These days it is free to enter. You have to arrive early to enjoy the scenery with snow. If you arrive early you can park easily. Totally worth to climb up and it leads to multiple trail heads.

The parking can be difficult but you can’t blame them with all the tourists. Beautiful views and an easy walk

This was a great first hike to Eagle Falls Trailhead. It is a short climb and hike to Eagle Falls, and then as you continue you get a beautiful view of Emerald Bay as a reward. Make sure you check out the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains as well. I was in awe! The trail is very clean, but bathrooms were not open due to the winter season coming.

This is an easy hike for the entire family! I would recommend having a picnic there and taking I. The view and fresh air.

What a great and easy loop hike to do with your dog! Paths are well marked and signed, there is just enough parking available (although in the winter snow covers the car park entrance but you can still use a smaller car park by the side of the road), public toilets also available. Our dog loved exploring the area with us. In the winter it wasn't too crowded. Views were lovely. I'd come back.
