Seriously the absolute worst and most corrupt department I've EVER witnessed!!! I just watched the case of Garrett! Nick needs to sue everyone in that city! Absolutely disgusting "detectives". They should be thrown in prison along with that prosecutor. Guilty or not, I've never witnessed so many constitutional violations in my life!! You let these pathetic excuses for detectives and prosecutors get away with this, they will do it to many others, even if they are innocent. The public should be enraged at how this was handled!!!

Fantastic service! They won't give you any information you need, they'll tell you hold on; then drink their coffee and gossip while you wait. That's been my experience so far, they even laughed and called me stupid; no attempt to keep it out of earshot. Love it.

They'll lie to you and send you on goose chases which you'll find out when you call everyone about tickets and tows and they all say "Go to the PD".

Honestly never felt more like a criminal than dealing with the Potsdam PD. Even if you're doing absolutely nothing and just want to resolve a minor parking ticket they'll run you through the ring. I couldn't imagine getting a big ticket or doing a crime; you're family will never figure out how to bail you out.

The documentary about Garrett Phillips made me sick to my stomach. To railroad a man, Nick Hillary, with absolutely no forensic evidence. I usually have the utmost respect for law enforcement and it’s cops like these that give other cops such a bad name. Thankfully he was found not guilty. And it’s a shame that he did not win the civil suit. Anyone involved should be ashamed of themselves and jobs should have been lost.

After seeing the documentary about Garrett Phillips, this police department should be ashamed of themselves. You make the whole town look awful and racist. I hope you guys are embarrassed and know that millions of people have seen this documentary and think the same thing.

This department failed Garrett Phillips by showing how racist they are. The biggest mistake was putting karen I mean Mary in office as DA. This department handled this case very sloppy and with all evidence showing nick Hillary was innocent they proceed to push for him to be guilty allowing whoever did this crime go free. Then have the audacity to say they are not looking for no other suspects because she is 100% sure nick committed this crime. Thank god her sloppiness has gotten her banned from practicing law again. The key part they never paid attention to is Nick was too big to fit through the hole that was created and the person that called the police stated she heard children in the home but they get there and it was only Garrett. So yes I do believe some other children committed this crime and hopefully the current DA do a better job with solving this case than Mary because this boy was failed by this town. PPD should be ashamed. That is one racist town and police department.

What they did to Nick Hillary is so wrong. It's so typical of police. They think that they know who committed a crime and they will lie to make the person they believe is guilty pay for the crime, especially if the person is black. It's so typical of law-enforcement. They think that they are above the law. And people wonder why government in law enforcement can't be trusted.

Cannot believe the racism exposed by a documentary. The inhumane treatment given to a POC compared to the treatment given to John Jones who clearly has power over this syndicate is revolting. Mark Murray is given a promotion??? yet his investigation is grotesquely handled. Why??? Because Hillary is a black man?

Little walks around the town claiming to fight racism will not give Nick Hillary’s life back. No apologies were given to him, no remorse given by this department at all in destroying someone’s life. Shame on this department.

Cant believe how horribly you handled the investigation of Garrett’s death. The interview video of the questioning of Mr. Hillary, borders on criminal. You give law enforcement a bad name.....and should be ashamed of what you did to Nick Hillary. It is just so disappointing and frightening to see the level of incompetence, ignorance and blatant racism in a position of power like that. You wonder why the public doesn’t trust any of you and videos everything now. You are supposed to be the heroes.....not the villain. Very, very disappointing.

This police department failed Garrett Phillips and Garretts family. He deserved better. I've watched alot of true crime, it was fishy from the start. None of it added up.
I wouldn't be surprised if the sheriff did it, man probably did it to get closer to Garretts mom, be cool to get a DNA test honestly on the sheriff and the man helping him on the case.. You never know what a Guy will do to just to get closer to someone, he really was trying to play a white knight and that's fishy for legal reasons, that's only a theory.

I just watched HBO documentary on the Phillip's case. The detectives in this city are incompetent. It is very clear Mr Hillary was railroaded with no evidence. This is a racist department and city. John Jones is more likely to have committed this crime based on what I have seen. Looks like it is another case of cops covering up for other cops.

Police Chief Mark Murray straight up illegally interrogated Nick in the case of Garrett Philips. Him and his partner used manipulative and illegal tactics to try and obtain a false confession. They don’t care about the truth at all. So disgusting and this entire department needs to be scrapped, never given any other jobs in law enforcement, and replaced with competent workers.

A lousy department that picks and chooses when they want to do their jobs. When notified about a speeding issue that had taken the lives of local pets, the dispatchers response was “private property, there’s nothing we can do to enforce the speed limit.” THOUGH there is a posted speed sign.. but they can stop by and do their rounds to avoid their road patrol when they please.
