The Golden Bough

The food is absolutely great. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. First night we went all of us ordered the tenderloin. It was absolutely delicious. All 5 of them came out perfect. We also ordered the poutine appetizer. It was HUGE. The fresh cheese curds were great!
We just returned for lunch today and had the Kobe beef burger. Again cooked perfect and accompanied with the fries it was delicious. We ended with the locally sourced Blueberry Butter Cookie Gelato. I highly suggest and recommend going.

Charming, lovely spot for elegant, yet simple, and delicious, bites! The trout is excellent, plated beautifully, and wholly satisfying for the portion. If your appetite calls for more, the 1/2 chicken was serious business, and still a beautiful twist on a classic dish. We were pleasantly surprised to find this gem in downtown Bangor, Michigan. For soon to be mainly locally sourced and farm to table food, the price was reasonable, and the atmosphere is very relaxing and easy to enjoy. Highly recommend stepping out of the norm and into an elevated taste. Thanks to Brad and his partner, Dustin for taking a huge leap in this corner of Southwest Michigan. Keep on keeping on, my friends!

Hidden Gem!! Our visit was wonderful. The food was excellent. I had the house burger and, OMG, the best burger I have ever put in my mouth. I also loved the kobe fries. Our server took great care of us. We will be going back to experience the dinner menu before we leave.

Absolutely delicious! I had the poutine and the rainbow trout and they were both perfectly executed dishes. I love that they source locally, down to serving Brix soda! Impressive and exotic menu. The interior has been beautifully remodeled. This place is an absolute delight!

The food was very unexpected from what I thought was a hole in the wall. For an appetizer we had their bruschetta and the main we had black Angus tenderloin. Both were amazing never seen that coming for such a small place.

The Goat Cheese Bruschetta was amazing!!! The flavor combinations crested a delicious surprise in my mouth.
The Braised Short Ribs were tender with a delightful creamy gravy. The polenta was perfectly balanced with the ribs.

Great food and great people. Everything made fresh and home made right there. And all food is from our local farmers. Even their pop is made right here in Michigan. Way to go. Nice to see the support for our local community. Will definitely be back for more.

I highly recommend The Golden Bough for lunch or dinner and soon breakfast. Not only is the food amazing here and the service beyond delightful, but by dinning here I am confident that I am suppourting local farms. Along with supporting a bussiness who treats thier employees with respect. The Golden Bough is a fresh of breathe air. Durning my visit I enjoyed my chicken soup and fresh coffee and the relaxing atmosphere of jazz and art.

Fantastic Food. Golden Bough, what are you doing in Bangor? Menu and food belongs in a big city with legendary eats. Glad this place exists. Exellent food, top notch service, good prices, fresh ingredients. Of particular note; schnitzel sandwich, burgers, and house, golden, and caesar salads . Oh, and awesome Brix Soda on tap. BYOB is ok!

my wife and i stopped in for dinner last saturday. the weather was getting really bad... i mean normal michigan weather in january (: our waitress was Amazing, she knew all about the menu items and was funny and took good care of our requests.
i can tell you good food isnt cheap but this place has very good food and the prices arent bad. good job GoldenBough glad to have you in Bangor

AMAZING!!! every star deserved these poeple deserve notoriety. Clean calm environment soothing music and the food my god the food. Every meal is detialed picture perfect and sets standards how a meals should be prepared and taste. Im hooked and will return here as my number one chioce.

This farm to table restaurant is a great addition to our small town of Bangor. The restaurant is very clean, the wait staff is very friendly and the food is wonderful! I 100% recommended it!
