Afternoon Delight

We visited AD on a Sunday and weren't expecting the wait for close to 50 minutes! But I guess any place that has this long of a wait better be good and AD did not disappoint, at all! Everyone in our party of 5 enjoyed their main entrees except for the blueberry muffin (very dry) and seafood just doesnt jive with an omelet!! Service was a tad bit slow but that gave us more time with friends. Do try their shakes but be warned of their size!! In summary - An awesome brunch + lunch spot in A2. 5/5!

Love love love this place. Been coming here since I was a baby. Homemade muffins daily. Everyday is a different flavor muffin. Veggie Morning Delight is amazing with their ranch dressing to dip it in.

We catered food for brunch (June 2024) and it was fantastic! The food was delicious, exactly what was discussed in the order process, ready on time and the amounts were very generous,. Everything was packed up perfectly, so all the food looked great as well. All our guests raved about the taste – quiches were rich and creamy, pastries fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend Afternoon Delight and will go out of my way to enjoy their food again! Thank you!

I was just there for takeout but would have loved to dine in the simple, stylish atmosphere. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The menu options are excellent. I ordered Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict with a Mocha Cappuccino shake, and for my fiancé the Tuna Melt with orange juice. Both were incredibly delicious. Obvious quality ingredients. I ran back in to leave a bigger tip after enjoying the meal so much.

We used to come to Afternoon Delight literally every day before the pandemic - it is one of our favorite restaurants in Ann Arbor! It has been a while since we last visited, so we decided to come back again today. We found the food to be delicious as always, top quality and the portions truly generous. The owner, Mrs Williams, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. My wife really loves the Smoked Nova Salmon Eggs Benedict - during the weekday it is served with english muffin, but on the weekend it is specially accompanied by their signature potato pancake. The addition of capers perfectly complements the creamy bearnaise sauce, making it refreshing and well balanced. As shown in our photographs, the poached eggs appear even with running yolks - magnificent :-). The Avocado Toast AD style is composed of whole wheat bread, light, moist and creamy. I normally order a large tossed salad, which includes one of Afternoon Delight's famous muffins, which in my opinion are the BEST in Ann Arbor! We will definitely go back again soon.

Update 04/20/2022: We came back again today for the ginormous and marvelous Split Personality frozen yoghurt, which comes with a lot of fresh fruit and banana. We also ordered a delicious Albacore Tuna Sandwich with challah bread (which came with a side of our favorite potato salad) and a signature muffin (this time, cherry flavored). Our server, Amanda, was friendly and attentive, and Mrs Williams made us feel welcome.

Update 04/27/2022: Today we ordered the Rueben and the Atlantic Smoked Salmon sandwich (with croissant instead of pumpernickel bread), both of which were flavorful and scrumptious. I particularly appreciated that the Rueben was less greasy than other establishments. The combination of olives and capers in the salmon sandwich also worked perfectly together.

Update 04/28/2022: We ordered the Mediterranean Omelette, which came with a peanut butter and chocolate muffin, and three eggs with four sausage links and hash brown, which came with challah toast. We loved the omelette, which was healthy and fluffy. The eggs were also cooked perfectly, with running yolks and the sausages were non-greasy.

Update 04/12/2022: The berry patch is very fruity, health and light, with frozen yoghurt, so a healthier option.

Update 06/10/2022: We tried the Gazpacho, which is specially available for Summer - it was delicious, light, healthy and refreshing! The Malibu club sandwich was enormous and the béarnaise sauce provided a good accompaniment.

Jan 2023 review: I am a big fan of extra crispy thin bacon. So far this is the only brunch place in Ann Arbor that meets my expectation. Love this local restaurant!

Apr 2023 review: I got to try their avocado toast for the first time. The portion was huge and the toasts were very tasty 😋

I ordered a Nova Salmon Eggs Benedict, some Hot Apple Cider, and cornbread. The Apple Cider came out hot and delicious and the cornbread was warm and freshly baked. The highlight was the eggs benedict, which had a generous portion of salmon and had real mustard seed. The only issue was that the lighting was slightly dim, so my photos don't reflect how good they really look.

This place was such a delight! I had the special of potato pancakes with smoked salmon eggs benedict and it was mind-blowing. This should definitely be on the permanent menu! They also did a great job of social distancing and sanitizing between customers. Can't wait to return!

Great menu for everyone. Food is very fresh and healthy. Ordered a pile of dishes first time here .. not a single complaint about anything.

This place is amazing!!! Huge menu, wide variety of food options. Portions were big! Except for the blintzes. They were small and not that great. But the omelets and biscuits and gravy were outstanding!!

One of our favorite breakfast joints in Michigan. We make the hour long trip at least once a month for their boules and muffins.

Super tasty food, in a cozy environment, with quintessential Ann Arbor vibes - you really can't go wrong here!

I'm visiting my brother here in Ann Arbor and we have been coming here for years. In my opinion it's one of the best breakfast and lunch cafes in town. Always greeted with a smile and service is very quick. I would highly recommend Afternoon Delight as a charming place to eat.

One of the best places to eat in downtown Ann Arbor. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Large portions for the price.

This place has an excellent breakfast! Amanda took our order and was super understanding of dietary issues. The good was so fresh and delicious. It was just a great all around experience.

When I went here, they were having a cafeteria type breakfast which was a throwback to my high school days. You ordered up front, but grabbed a tray, a carton of milk if you wanted, and then paid for your meal. A waitress would then later bring it to you. The food itself was really amazing; I had the Meat Bowl and it was perhaps the best breakfast I've had in months!

I've been coming to Afternoon Delight for over 20 years everytime I'm in Ann Arbor. You walk in, grab a tray, are greeted by friendly staff, pick out a great sandwich and drink and get a trip to the well stocked and fresh salad bar. The food is great and the service is fast. I recently had the Super Club, pictured here and it was very tasty. The portions are ample size and I often cannot finish my entire sandwich and take 1/2 home for later.

I enjoyed your food specially the egg cheese broccoli for breakfast, and I would love to try more dishes on site.

The best breakfast in Ann Arbor. We ate here twice and may come tomorrow too.

My husband and I have been coming to afternoon delight for about a year as part of a weekly tradition, and we could not be happier with our experience there. Everyone is super wonderful, even when they are busy and overwhelmed. The tall and tattooed lady (Amanda) has especially been so nice to chat with, she really makes you feel like part of a community. The food is amazing, I especially love their Reuben! Give them a try and you won't regret it :)
