MADE SOUTH CATERING

July 2019: Visited Dallas & Jane last night with my fellow foodies Carmine and Rachel Grasso. Tuesday is “Date Night” at Dallas & Jane so it is a great opportunity to try different dishes at a discounted price.

Some of the appetizers shared was a hunk of freshly baked bread and seaweed butter. I must exclaim as odd as it may sound, it was damn good. The bread was perfect with a nice crust and soft interior but the butter was so interesting and flavorful. The Corn & Crab, Fresh Pasta, Corn Broth, Crab Salad, Parmesan appetizer disappeared quickly and was delicious.

I started with the appetizer Tomato Salad which consisted of exceptionally meaty heirloom tomatoes, burrata, corn, ramps, Duke’s Mayo, and breadcrumbs. While this is an appetizer, it could also be a side to any of the meals served here. The combination of flavors and textures was spot on and the dis was lite and extremely refreshing. For dinner…I decided to try the Prime NY Strip with Elotes (cooked sweet corn in a spicy mixture), Chayote and Cotija. The steak was prepared a perfect medium rare/medium as requested and the flavors were incredible. The char was perfect and the flavor was great with the marbling…extremely tender steak! The sides were really good, but contained a bit too much heat for my tastes.

My fellow foodies went with the Wild Maine Scallops…I’ve had this dish before and it is wonderful!

Dessert here is always an adventure…of your taste buds. I tried the Polenta Pound Cake with champagne poached peaches, honey, and Basil Ice Cream. The challenge here was trying to figure out the fusion of the various flavors into this dish. Basil Ice Cream??? Seriously??? Seriously good!!! You become a bit leery when you have to Google what your dessert is made of, but the combination of flavors was incredible!

While I am not a cheesecake fan, Carmine and Rachel made the Chocolate Cheesecake, Cherry Preserves, Matcha Crumb, and Lavender Cream disappear!

Service…the standard here is exceptional, and was exceeded by the ladies who took great care of us!

June 2018: My second visit to Dallas & Jane and brought a friend with me. For appetizers we went with the Crawfish Hush Puppies and the Korean Meatballs which are excellent. For dinner I went with the Sea Trout with poached vegetables and a great sauce. My friend chose the Halibut with white asparagus, trumpet mushrooms, and beluga lentil. Both of the fish dishes were exceptional and the sauces really set them apart. This was my first time having Sea Trout and really loved the flavors and the texture of the fish.

While I can't remember the name of the French dessert it was awesome!

This place is a very welcome addition to the Murfreesboro dining scene. Very unusual dishes and flavors combined to create a rare dining experience.

A fabulous meal at Dallas & Jane! Their signature cocktails are delicious and different form other bars. The Coal Miner is a definite must try. Small plates for us included Korean wings, crawdads hushpuppies, and charred okra, all wonderful! Our entrees were pork chops with peach salsa and grits and a ricotta gnocchi with shrimp. Ended the meal with champagne poached peaches. Simply marvelous from start to finish!

This place never disappoints! The wait staff is still a little green but we live in a college town where it's hard to find waiters who care. The Food however is always amazing. The meals are creative and fresh. The drinks are very well made. I love going for happy hour and sitting at the bar. The bartenders are great conversationalist. You will pay a little more because of the high quality, but it's totally worth it.

We used Made South Catering for our Client Christmas Party this year and we are so glad we did! From beginning to end they made it a simple process and the food was amazing! Savannah was a joy to work with and helped me so much with getting everything together. The option of drinks and having a bartender and server was a huge help and made the process that much easier. The guests could not say enough good things about the delicious food and the beautiful set up. You can't go wrong using Made South for your event!

We had a fantastic dinner here! The service is top notch and the food is phenomenal. This has quickly become our favorite date night spot!

Alex Belew Catering was an answer to our prayers. The food was absolutely delicious, and he worked with us within our budget to create something really special for our guests during cocktail hour — a biscuit bar with his award-winning biscuits and array of local honeys, prosciutto, and jam! The main dishes were equally special and delicious. Everyone was so pleased, and we felt so thrilled and thankful to offer our guests the best!

Not only was the food incredible, Alex was a dream to work with. He made us feel so special as he helped us create a menu that was perfect for our dream wedding. He arranged for everything to be set up, prepared, and styled to perfection. At a wedding, these are important details, and I was so relieved to know that the food would be nothing less than perfect in terms of both taste and presentation.

And even though we were warned that we may not have time to eat at our wedding, I think the photo says it all...enjoying our first meal together as husband and wife on our big day thanks to Alex Belew Catering!

And just in case, Alex’s team had packed us a to-go box which was the perfect after-wedding treat! Thank you so much for the incredibly professional and personal service!

It was incredibly nice talking with Chef Jay as he’s the new owner as of just last week. We absolutely love the vibes and atmosphere along with the amazing food. The portions are great for the price. Plan to make this place a regular hangout spot from here on out.

Dallas & Jane never disappoints, from unique cocktails to a seasonally changing creative menu. And the desserts....wow. The food and atmosphere is so unexpected for Murfreesboro, as chef driven restaurants aren't common there. Don't let the strip mall location deter you. The moment you walk through the front door, you're forget all about it. Never had a bad dish or experience.

Excellent meal start to finish. Our server, Cameron, was knowledgeable, personable, and most importantly enthusiastic about the menu and our total dining experience. The combinations of flavors and complementary compositions of dishes was excellent. This was a phenomenal meal; one of the best I've eaten in a very long time. A true hidden gem in Murfreesboro.

Really cute little place. The food was amazing. We had the crawfish hushpuppies and then I had the scallop entree for dinner. THEY WERE SO GOOD. Best scallops ive had this inland. The pumpkin risotto was so perfect. The chocolate panna cotta was delicious also.

It was amazing. The waiters were great I didn't feel out of place being a middle class guy in a snazzy restaurant. Thanks for the chow.

Had a great time trying Dallas and Jane's for the first time. Top notch service, great atmosphere, and amazing food!

My dining experience was elegant! The dishes were delicious, and exquisitely arranged. The service rendered was absolutely attentive and polite. I was impressed with the ambiance of the restaurant, the lighting, soft jazz music, and the mere atmosphere of people engaging in merry conversations with their guests and loved ones. I loved how the chef and his staff graced my girlfriend with a complimentary birthday dessert and greeting. We felt very welcomed here. We will definitely return. I'm really anticipating the meals for the Autumn/Winter season!

A trendy, upscale place good for small plates (tapas) or full - on meals. The bar is nice and they have excellent and unique cocktail options. We had the Korean Spicy Wings appetizer at the bar. The Bartender was very good and friendly. The wings were delicious. The prices are a little higher, but this is an upscale place so they weren't out of line. We were seated just before our reservation time, and the place was starting to fill up. The service was excellent. The menu looks a little small, but when you really start digging in, there is a lot of choices! I had the Wild Maine Scallops and they were perfectly cooked - just delicious - and my wife was very complimentary of her steak. We would definitely go back to see what other flavor creations they have come up with! You don't expect this place in the location - it is in a strip-mall with a dollar general just a few stores down. However, it's easy to get in and out, plenty of free parking, and not too far from the highway for a quick escape from the Murfreesboro traffic. Thanks Dallas and Jane's for a wonderful evening with great food and fun with our friends.

Murfreesboro has never had a restaurant this exciting. The cocktail menu was so enticing we tried 3 different drinks- all were great but the Coal Miner mood got be the best Old Fashioned we’ve ever had. The clams and the wings were both excellent starters. All 4 of us ordered different entrees and each dish was devoured. The scallops, snapper, strip and short ribs were all perfect. We shared 2 desserts that were also delightful. Chef Alex is so personable and friendly. This is a special spot that we’d love to see succeed! Reservations on weekend a must, Tuesday night specials worth looking into. Wednesday’s and Thursday’s walking welcome.

We arrived early for our reservation and if it had not been for GPS we would not have found it. Being located in a “strip mall” where everything else is closed at night was not what I was expecting. Do NOT let the location keep you away, it is nicely decorated and is an excellent place for a great meal whether a date night or just a night where you can get Nashville cuisine in Murfreesboro. The bartender was friendly & greeted us as soon as we walked in & he mentioned the hostess was seating a customer & would be right with us. Initial table was wobbly & asked to move to a level table, our waitress accommodated us without complaint. Our cocktails were expertly made and worth the price point. Lobster mac & cheese was phenomenal (did ask for salt & it was provided, perhaps finishing salt was not added?). The shrimp & scallop ink dish was superb, and my dinner partner raved about the sweet potato gnocchi dish & the chess pie. Only disappointment was the pumpkin desert which had been recommended so I think I may have ordered it on an off night. Will definitely return and recommend!

This meal was amazing from start to finish! We elected to do several of their appetizers instead of an entree, and the variety was a perfect balance for the meal. The chef himself served our wine along with a couple of our dishes. I love seeing a chef out among their diners. Our server was warm, friendly and made good suggestions to improve our dining experience. Will definitely come back!

I cannot help but rave about how Dallas and Jane is truly a gem in Murfreesboro. I’ve been there about 5 times. The best craft cocktails around, hands down. The food is always delicious, and definitely unique if you are a foodie and wanting to stretch outside your comfort zone. The food is always fresh and presented so beautifully. The service is impeccable as well. Highly recommend this for your dinner outing or day night, as it never disappoints. ❤

We had a lovely dinner at Dallas and Jane. It was our first time visiting last night and it was excellent. The winter menu is fantastic. We had Charred Broccoli Rabe, Baked Ricotta,
Hanger Steak Toast, An Octopus dish that was the night's special, and
the D&J Cheeseburger. My husband and I shared it all and it was more than enough food for both of us. I also had a cocktail- the Pretty Sexy Cool- which was delicious. It is definitely a special occasion restaurant for us, as it's more expensive than we would do for a regular night out, but it's well worth it for the food and atmosphere. Next birthday or anniversary celebration should be with them, for sure.

Atmosphere and ambience was awesome! From hostess to server to other team members that were running food -- everyone was fantastic. We noticed so many little details - it's apparent the owner really loves what he does. Our food was AMAZING. Haven't had a meal this good in a long time.

Can't wait to come back!
