Urban Tails Veterinary Hospital

Urban Tails has consistently gone above and beyond for us since we started seeing them with our new puppy right when they opened nearly 3 years ago. They genuinely care, are great communicators, and have always treated our dog like their own. We could not ask for or imagine a better veterinary team.

Dr. Bennett was so kind and helpful when we visited! Answered all of my many questions and did tests to try to figure out why my dog wasn’t feeling well. We will definitely be back when we need it.

We've taken 4 pets (2 large dogs, 2 cats) to Urban Tails and have been exceptionally pleased with the quality of care and compassion. Each pet has had very unique temperaments and needs, and the vets/vet techs/receptionists have excelled at dealing with each one.

One of our cats died of cancer not long after we moved to Durham. The staff at Urban Tails were wonderful at helping us during this time; when the recommended vet hospital for an ultrasound didn't have any appointments for weeks, the receptionist called around until she found a place with earlier availability. Just one example of how the staff demonstrates great compassion towards our pets.

One of our dogs has horrible anxiety and behavior issues due to puppyhood trauma; he's also 112 pounds so not easy to manage when he's upset. The vet & staff at Urban Tails were just incredibly patient at helping us figure out how to manage a visit.

Overall, highly recommend for all pets and needs! We are so grateful we found them!

Urban tails is great! I have a nervous dog at the vet and they always go at his pace and put comfort first. Both the vets and techs are amazing! Highly recommend!!

Like others said, this is the best vet experience I've had. My dog is very timid and Urban Tails has worked with us to make his visits comfortable and enjoyable for him. We have been going for a year and my dog is now comfortable getting up on the lobby scale and was able to have 3 vaccines and a check up with no issues. This was unthinkable a year ago. I couldn't be happier

The vets and vet techs here clearly care deeply about their pet patients. The environment is very carefully fear-free and welcoming to pets who need extra support for reactivity. My dog generally dislikes the vet but loves coming here.

My pup is a bit of a frequent flier here and I am continually impressed with their whole staff. Been going here a little over a year and would highly recommend.

I tend to ask a lot of questions and have always been met with patience and understanding. I particularly appreciate the way they follow up with me on how my dog is recovering/ progressing. The actual office is always clean and well maintained.

The best cat or dog veterinary experience I've ever had. The vet techs and veterinarians are so kind to our animals, and they genuinely look out for their best interest. I brought in our cat, who was previously feral, to complete a blood panel and she started panicking during the draw. The staff stopped once they could see she was physically stressing, and instead of us proceeding that day, made accommodations for us to try again the following week after giving our cat some medicine to help her relax. Worked like a charm, and I think we were all happier for the reschedule!

I've never had any issues finding timely appointments. Their app is FANTASTIC and is extremely convenient for making appointments and sending messages to the staff for quick questions about previous appointments, or to ask for documentation, etc. I highly recommend Urban Tails.

Dr. Bennett is one of my favorite Veterinarians I will always go to for any of my babies! She really is genuine and very caring. When I find someone I love, we are committed forever. She was with me when my last dog passed due to cancer & here we are again with another rescue dog. Dr. Bennett is family and you will never feel rushed out to door so she can get to the next patient. Wonderful place ❤ Thank you for all you do, as well as your team!!

When we decided to get our first puppy, we were very nervous about picking a vet. My husband called 5 different clinics, and he said that Urban Tails was the only one to patiently listen to and answer his many questions.

Since that first phone call, they have been nothing short of amazing. They treat our dog like he is their own pet. Our dog became fearful of bloodwork after a wild trip to the emergency vet. Urban Tails worked with him using their fear free approach to the point where now he can get bloodwork done safely and without any distress.

Our dog absolutely loves coming into their office and always runs out of the car with a big smile on his face. Recently he's had to have a couple of unexpected surgeries that were very scary for us as owners. Dr. Bennett, Rachel, and the team not only made sure that our dog was safe and comfortable, but they also checked in on us to reduce our anxiety throughout the process.

We are so grateful to have found this amazing team.

I'm not sure I can fully convey how compassionate and caring this practice is. I'm going through the final days with my beloved 14-year-old pup, and Dr. Bennett, Morgan and Sierra have been so amazingly human and supportive throughout the difficult and sad journey we're on. I feel less alone with them on my side. I wish I'd made the switch years ago but am so grateful that Olle's final six months was overseen by this lovely and caring group.

I have a senior kitty who has always been pretty spicy, but Urban Tails fixed her up with great care, attention and affection. I could not recommend them more.

Honestly would be lost without them, they made the end of life experience for our dog so much more better than we had had elsewhere with our cat 5days before, losing 2 pets in less than a week was devastating for us, we moved away from Durham but we're so glad that we drove the distance to urban tails than to go to our local vets as the staff and vets at urban tails couldn't have been more, kind, supportive and patient with us. If we ever get pets in the future I would fully trust urban tails with their care. Thanks 💕💔

Amazing Vet! Take amazing care of our dogs. Recently moved to Durham. They make the entire process not stressful for the dog. From making sure lobby is empty when you arrive to examining dog on the floor at the dogs level. Modern approach to being a vet.

Dr. Bennett and her team are the absolute best! Dr. B cared for my old senior for years helping us navigate aging, joint support, canine dementia and ultimately the heart wrenching decision of when it was time to let him go. She always answered my questions sometimes through my sobbing tears, showed kindness, compassion and so much empathy. She’s honest and straightforward and gave me the all the information I needed to make fully informed decisions and always delivers information with such kindness. Every person there made my Oscar feel so loved and cared for, and when he crossed the rainbow bridge, they held me in such love and kindness.

Whether you have a new puppy getting vaccines, and nervous/anxious adult who dislikes going to the vet, or a little old senior with creaky joints and dementia(or anything in between)… Dr.Bennett and her team will take care of your precious family members with such love and care at every stage of their lives. She now cares for my 10 year old rescue, Winnie and I feel so grateful for Dr.B and Urban Tails. There is no one else I want caring for my family…animal or human💖

I absolutely love this vet!! Dr. Loughman is fantastic; She is extremely knowledgeable, yet takes her time to carefully address each one of my concerns. I have an older dog that hates the vet, but they do everything they can to make her feel comfortable. I couldn't be happier with my experience here!

The doctors and staff here are excellent. Far too many times do you run into vets who don't show compassion or empathy to you or your animals. The staff here will show you respect and give the proper care and attention your animals need.

Thank you, Dr. Bennett for your help over the years. The staff at Urban Tails was also friendly, helpful, professional. Unfortunately, my cat's health took a nose-dive in a matter of days, and it was her time to go. Thanks for the care you gave us -- she will be missed!

We love Dr. Bennett and Urban Tails!!! I got a new cat who had a ton of health problems & we had a not so great experience with another vet. Rachel & Dr. B made sure to make sure we were comfortable with everything & that all of my questions and concerns were addressed, and we never felt rushed every time we were there (which was a lot with my sick boy). I have also brought my senior dog to them and they were awesome with her & all of her old lady issues as well. Juli at the front desk is great too. Highly recommend Urban Tails to my friends & clients too!!
