The BBQ here was awesome. I travel for BBQ and decide to stop by after seeing a billboard on the highway. I had the brisket with a side of loaded potatoes and Mexican street corn. Both were outstanding. I was going to get the moist brisket, but the cutter offered a sample of the lean... it was fall apart tender and plenty juicy. The flavor was outstanding also. It's some of the best BBQ I've tasted. It was a little out of the way, but well worth the detour! You should stop by and enjoy some of the food from this little gem 😜

One of the best BBQ I’ve had while in TX. Love the meats and the Tex-Mex spin on the menu. Great sides too - Mexican elote (corn) and the cucumber salad was dynamite.

Staff came and check on us while we ate.
Highly recommend to anyone.

Stopped for lunch on a brisket tamales day. Loved the brisket tamale. I would've liked a bit more texture to the meat and while it had nice chile flavor, it overwhelmed the brisket. The brisket nachos were massive and delicious. The jalapeno sausage was moist and flavorful. The brisket was very good (although sliced a bit thick-overcooked?) Despite being peak lunch time, the pork ribs weren't ready yet. And the prices are starting to be a bit high for the food. That said, I look forward to returning and trying the beef rib and quail.

Thank you so much for amazing food but even better service today! We appreciate your patience with ordering and feeding our family as we gathered after laying a family member to rest. Can’t thank you enough for making our day better than it started. Everyone loved their food and we had enough for leftovers so looking forward to enjoying it even more later. Street corn and turkey were my favorite!

The brisket here at Schoepf’s was absolutely amazing! About the best I have had anywhere! I am from out of state and came to the area to visit a friend. He took me here for lunch and I was not disappointed! I like how they cut the meat fresh for you and have many options. However, it was the brisket that won me over. The mac and cheese and other side dishes were good as well. It is a bit pricey, but I sort of expected that and as a treat, it is well worth it! I will definitely be returning next time I am in Texas!

The food was incredibly delicious. I only wished they DoorDash or Grubhub all the way too Minnesota. If I’m ever in this town again, I’ll definitely stop by again. 10/10

Wow, so many places to pick and I’m DAMN glad we picked this one!!! The brisket was unbelievably flavorful and tender. The sides were spectacular, and that is usually the part of a bbq place that is the downside.

We tried the cheesy potatoes, elote, Mac and cheese and the beans…ALL were amazing!!!

Delicious BBQ. Best we have had in Central Texas in the 6 years we have lived here. Great music. We had the brisket, turkey, chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, pinto beans, and blackberry cobbler. All perfect. They have live music here too.

We found this as we were driving from Austin to Dallas. Glad we found it. Nice place, they may not have everything you see on the menu, as they cook what they have until you run out. Friendly folks. You order at the start, walk through the food line and choose your sides. Expect a little spice, which I loved. We paid $70 for two people, 2 meats each and a side with drinks. I think that is a reasonable price.

This review is long overdue. I was on a quick 2 day Texas trip back on 6/4/21. My Bestie and I came here because I told her we were not coming back home to Utah til I got to try Texas bbq. We came to Schoepf’s and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! Both the brisket and the ribs were cooked to perfection. Here it is, 2 years later, and I still think about that brisket. The sides were delish too! The staff was so kind. The owner was there walking around, talking to guests. I remember telling her it was the best brisket I’ve ever had and she was so excited as they had just changed their recipe. I told her I was there visiting for a quick trip from Utah and Utah just does not have good bbq. I have tried every bbq place out here looking for quality brisket like I found at Shoelf’s in Texas. Nothing has compared. Thanks for a great Texas bbq experience with awesome service. 2 years later and I still think about it. One day I’ll have to come back for that brisket lol.

Now I know what the hype is all about! Such a great Texas music venue! The food is amazing, plenty of delicious choices(definitely not your average bbq joint) and the atmosphere has perfect Tex Appeal. I will be watching the music lineup and returning in the near future. Highly recommend!

This place needs more love. It's rare you go to a place that has all good meats, good sides and good sauce. Schoepf's is great at all phases of the meal and offers things that most shy away. I live in Austin and we have tons of good brisket around here, but Schoepf's can hang with the best. My favorite part though, is that they offer different types of sausage depending on the season and availability. Love me some venison sausage, but all the options were great!

They hosted a Vanilla Ice concert in the backyard area. Had an awesome time and enjoyed the nostalgia of the 90's. Got some sweet tea and a sausage wrap and listened to the music. Food was good as usual and the service was done with a smile and a friendly attitude. Have every intention of going back.

They say barbecue restaurants (barbecue ‘joints’?) in Texas are like Baptist churches - there’s one on every corner and visitors usually leave feeling blessed but a little guilty. I have had the pleasure of living in the great state of Texas for several years now and I can attest to the ‘blessed but guilty’ emotions. When I visit an Unchained Barbecue restaurant in Texas I really want to try one of everything on the menu because I know it’ll bless my belly. But, I also know that I might miss my calorie cap for the day as well.

Such was my quandary when I visited Schoepf's BBQ in Belton, TX recently. Schoepf’s has been featured in Texas Monthly Magazine, Food Network, and PBS. That much publicity creates some well-deserved foot traffic. I chose a late lunch hour on a weekday and discovered (as might be expected) that many cuts of meat were already sold out. But, my trusty go-to order of lean brisket and mild smoked sausage were still in good supply.

I opted for the sweet sauce with the meat and I paired mac ‘n cheese & potato salad. Meat is ordered in one room and handily placed on butcher paper and a metal tray. Customers then move over to the main dining room and the final serving line. There they pick a side or two and possibly opt for some yummy dessert.

Out back Schoepf’s has built a great outdoor music and party venue. Be sure to check out their website or Facebook page for a calendar of upcoming events.

I highly recommend the next time you're traveling along the I-35 parking lot in Central Texas, take a short break in Belton and visit Schoepf's. They'll welcome you with a smile!
