The Oak House Durham

This place is awesome for two reasons. One, it's literally the only coffee shop open in downtown past 4pm (past 7pm, really). And two, because it's awesome in its own right. It's huge, lots of workspace, contemp design, and you can do your work w coffee in hand and then celebrate getting it done w one of their like 15 beers on tap or list of wines by the glass. It is THE Coffee Shop to get it all done in. I love that even one space has 457 outlets available.

One of the best place to have good coffee in Durham. Friendly staff, good music, elegant ambiance, and a perfect location.
I always prefer almond milk Cappuccino, the server recommended Oat milk this time and this was the best Cappuccino I have had in years.
White Chocolate Latter was good too. Definitely a must go place if you are into coffee. They do have several other alcohol based drinks too.

Great home like ambience, good music, we ordered Caramel latte and Caramel macchiato, Brianna was courteous and quick to take our order. Jess was our barista and to be quiet frankly she hit every single note in our taste buds! Awesome job girls!!!

Excellent coffee and the tasting are great! Staff are super knowledgeable, especially the two guys always there. If you want to do a beer tasting or whisky go there. Good pastries too

I've stopped by a few times in the morning since moving to the area in April 21 and haven't been disappointed yet, not that I'm looking to be. My order isn't usually complicated, a mocha or cappuccino, and sometimes a pastry. Today, a croissant. The mocha was about the right level of sweet for my taste and the croissant as expected and lightly toasted. Staff folks have always been friendly. They also have adult beverages, wine, beer, and spirits. I assume the 2 former could be purchased for take-out. Decent amount of seating. At times, the music, which by itself isn't terribly loud, makes people talk a little louder, which makes the overall volume a little high. Nothing that'll stop me from dropping by.

Great vibes and delicious coffee. Lots of great coffee options. Also sells alcoholic drinks. Staff were very nice and accommodating. No laptops after 5 pm but during the day great spot to get work done. Large window in the front with natural lighting and comfortable couches. Plenty of outlets and table space.

When I get to places such as Oak House, I feel Starbucks is overrated. Oak House coffee is too good. I tried Cappuccino which was really good with a balanced storm flavor. Highly recommended

I love visiting this place to have a good cup of capuccino which is simply the best. The baristas are very friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you for made my day even when I am feeling my workday is very stressful

The barista was really sweet and made a great recommendation (lavender tea latte with lavender syrup was amazing!). Great vibe. Will def go again!

This newly opened coffee shop is amazing! They have delicious coffee options with a roaster right on the premises! They are working to add more food and whiskey to their list. Nice place to hang out and enjoy a drink.

Fantastic latte, the baked goods were good, the place was solid. Would I tell you to go out of your way to go to this place, probably not but it was an amazing place, coffee was the best I’ve had in a while and the atmosphere was very nice. There’s a nice comfy couch where there’s a chess/checkers/Backgammon board under the coffee table and I played with that during study breaks. The beer looked good and a few seemed to be ‘regulars’ coming in to grab one so. Try it out if you want beer or coffee.

Great place to have a drink and conversation. Whether it’s coffee, beer, wine, or liquor, the Oak House has a great variety of. Prices are very fair and staff was well educated on the products.

Definitely one of the coolest places to hang out in downtown Durham. The owners are great guys, and I love their selections of coffee and whiskey. A bar and a café in one!!! An awesome place to work too!

After a disaster trying to check into my hotel (no hot water!) I decided to wait at The Oak House while things got straightened out. I was excited to find a chic coffee shop that also featured a full bar and local beers on tap. The bartenders were super nice as I de-frazzeled myself over a beer and made a great recommendation of a super weird sour to try. It was excellent and turned my day around.

Great atmosphere! Got a cold brew and it was amazing! So happy we came here during our visit.

I really liked the relaxed ambiance. People could work remotely, have some coffee or drinks.

What a lovely little coffee house in the heart of downtown Durham. While waiting for a show at DPAC last Saturday evening my friend and I stopped at this coffee house to have a coffee before the show. My cortado was excellent. I only wish I lived in the area so I could frequent it more often.

This place is an absolutely wonderful place. Came here for 2 months for ☕, was never dissatisfied.

This place was a lifesaver. We were on our way home toward the tail end of a travel-heavy day and were exhausted and thirsty. The Oak House won our business by virtue of being open and slinging caffeine, and it won our praise by doing so well. Nutella lattes were among the seasonal coffee offerings, and they were smooth, refreshing, and delicious.

Beyond that, The Oak House is nicely appointed. The woodwork and chalkboard drink lists add old-fashioned charm. While we only glanced at the latter, the selection seemed plentiful.

The bar-coffee shop combination doesn’t always work (one sometimes suffers for the sake of the other), but The Oak House certainly seemed to have its act together.

Bourbon in my delicious Mocha Latte? Yes. Just absolutely yes. I love sitting at the window and you can grab a slice of pizza and bring it into eat with your well made drink! The staff is just fantastic as well.
