Local 22 Kitchen & Bar

So glad we had a reservation for a busy Friday night. I had to use my phone light to read the menu. We were seated in a dark corner it seemed like with a small candle on the table. The atmosphere and aesthetics were great otherwise. The food was delicious and based on our server’s, Kendall, recommendation and overall wonderful attentiveness we’ll be coming back for brunch.

My go-to brunch spot to catch up with friends and dinner spot when I want to brag on Durham. Casual cozy atmosphere and great service. Everything I’ve ordered or pilfered off friends’ plates has been delicious but it’s hard to resist the burger and tots. In all honesty, I’m mostly here for the Bloody Mary.

First time eating at this restaurant. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Our waitress Evan she was fantastic and she made the meal and the atmosphere so warm and inviting. Gave us suggestions and bent over backwards to make us comfortable. Because of our waitress I will definitely go back.

First time coming here, and was not disappointed! The Brussels and Mac n cheese were absolutely amazing. We split the coconut curry and that was perfect as well. Great portion sizes, loved the atmosphere as well. Prompt service and friendly staff. Not to mention carefully crafted cocktails! Will definitely be coming back!

Enjoyed Shrimp and Grits at Brunch last Sunday. Food was great and the atmosphere was beautiful.

I came here with my girlfriend for her birthday and everything from the food to the service was spectacular! We had the joy of dinning with Nichole, she was very informative and super friendly! Made some great suggestions for us and we were very pleased with them all! Such a great time and yummy food! Thanks Nichole and local 22 for a lovey time :)

My friends and I had the special pizza (bresaola white pie), the beet salad with chicken, the shrimp and grits and one of the hamburgers. All were very good. Our server was friendly and helpful. She answered all of our questions. There was a discrepancy between the cost of the special pizza on the menu board and the bill, but it was promptly addressed. We enjoyed our dinner here.

Really outstanding, I don't have a single negative thing to say other than I didn't feel cool or trendy enough to eat here at times. The cocktails were fantastic (Old fashioned, and pink gin and tonic were my favorite. The traveling Broadway gets better as you drink it). I had the bone in pork chop special with orange maple glaze, potatoes, and asparagus. Wonderful. My son had an excellent Caesar salad. The tater tots appetizer and corn bread were A+. Also the peach bread pudding dessert was quite good. I would go again.

Wow, wow, WOW!! That is about all I can say about this place. Atmosphere: wow. Service: wow. Food: WOW! Honestly, you can't go wrong coming here. Trust me, you won't regret it.

We wanted dinner with friends at a great local Durham eatery and Local 22 was perfect. The restaurant was full but not so packed you couldn’t move. Definitely make reservations. The ambiance was cozy and inviting. Our server was great at suggesting one of their strong signature cocktails to answering questions about the entrees. The ingredients for the dishes were locally sourced. The food came quickly and each dish was utterly amazing. The food was good. The company was good. Everything was wonderful. Make sure to give Local 22 a try because you’ll not only get great food but you’ll be supporting local.

What a great local spot! Strolled in off the street from out of town and so glad I did; the hostess was pretty frazzled but my server Landon (I think?!) was super friendly and responsive. Cast iron pimento and Brussels sprouts were delicious, cocktails were pared down and flavorful. Love the rotating menu with locally sourced ingredients! Definitely will be back.

Ordered some appetizers and burgers for take out. The burgers are perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. The cast iron hush puppies were divine. Thank you for putting the condiments on the side to ensure the burgers would not be soggy.

Loved EVERYTHING about this restaurant! The cocktails are delicious, as was every meal we ordered. The service was perfect! I cannot wait for my next visit back!

Got to Durham late on a Friday, celebrating a birthday. Was looking for a spot I could reserve that got good reviews. Came across this place. Arrived and was immediately seated, glad we reserved. Waiter was very attentive and food came out quick. Had an extensive drink selection and tried a couple of there specials. Definitely made with fresh ingredients. Was very happy with the meal which was kind of a sampler, Mahi bites, class with bread and the lamb burger. Couldn't decide what was better. Looking forward to trying additional items next trip. Oh and we got a free slice of cake for the birthday.

We enjoyed the food immensely and thought the prices were great for the taste and quality. The service was great. Our table was a little off the bar, so it was a little more noisy than we prefer, but overall it was a great experience we hope to repeat.

Second time in Durham, second time here. Our waiter Ryan S. was phenomenal, helping us make decisions that were top notch. Carolina Pimms, the Brussels sprouts and lamb burger were all awesome, and the apple tart he suggested for dessert was *chefs kiss*. Be sure to stop here when you’re in the area.

A near perfect dining experience. We got a quiet table on the sidewalk under beautiful, tall, old trees, and felt we had the place to ourselves despite it being relatively busy. Never would have known we were nestled in an office park. I'd call the menu "Southern fusion" with wonderfully creative takes on classic dishes. We got the special small plate, braised pork cheeks with gochujang eggplant and marinated mushrooms--I love being delighted by a surprising dish with perfectly balanced flavors--that I hope makes it to their regular menu. The grilled brussel sprouts were tender with fantastic, flaky, charred exterior. They weren't drowned in sauce and the light red chili aoli gave the right amount of subtle accent without masking the flavor of the vegetable. I love lamb, and waffled between ordering the burger and the pizza, but went with the pizza because it's easier to share. We were not disappointed. We got three of their signature cocktails. I got two whiskey based drinks and my daughter got the vodka berry, and I'm pleased to report that the bartender is every bit the artist as the chef. We rounded out the meal with the "pot de crème", an intense chocolate mousse that have us just the right amount of sweetness. We left feeling pleasantly full without being stuffed. Highly recommended!

The aesthetic of the place was really cool. I enjoyed the art style of the metal animals. The food was awesome. My fiancé and I shared the Sweet Potato Fries with Hot Honey, I got the Berry French Toast and she got something with Salmon. We really enjoyed hitting this place up for brunch and would love to go back to see what else they’ve got for lunch or dinner.

We chose tavern food which was delicious. The dining room is run like fine dining and perfectly timed bravo. It was too dark to read the paper menu so the waitress gave us a qr code that worked great. We can't wait to ho back.
