Unscripted Durham - JDV by Hyatt

Went there to grab dinner, and boi I really recommend the beef rib with mashed potatoes, it was AWESOME!!!! It is kinda pricey and there is a 20% gratuity that they include in the bill.
But overall it was a nice experience.

First time here and I had a great time in the hotel. It was a surprise to me eating in the igloo on the rooftop. Food was AWESOME 😋 didn’t want the experience to end, will definitely recommend.

Hotel was clean with a great vibe and decor. The bar was wonderful (I went when it wasn't busy because people lol) but had a wonderful stay in downtown, hotel is walking distance to lots of great food and bars.

I visited this location on the night of 10/18/2023 for drinks, appetizers, and good vibes with my friends. I was impressed with all three. The rooftop was a holiday festive vibe with Christmas decor, igloos, and outside firepits and heaters. The female bartender (dark hair) upstairs was amazing, friendly, and attentive. Multitasking at it's best. The jalapeño drink she made me was to die for, both of them 🥴. She recommended the Brussel sprouts....delicious. My truffle fries came out a little cold, and without hesitation she ordered me another and even brought them downstairs to me in the lobby area. Delicious. The security staff friendly and professional. The bartenders in the lobby, energetic and friendly. Dj was a Vibe! I will be back my next trip to NC. Much love and appreciation to the whole staff that was working that night.

I'm giving this a 5 star because of the front desk staff. So very helpful and nice. Wow... they went out of their way to be welcoming!

Went and saw Theresa Caputo at dpac. It was only a 7 min walk. Room was perfect, the bar at the hotel was great!

Great hotel! Located right in the middle of the fun. Rooms are spacious, very clean and modern. Beds are very comfy. The staff was very nice! Yes there is music and fun so if that isn't your thing then stay 10 minutes outside of town instead.
Love the complimentary glass of champagne upon check in!

Have been admiring this place from street level for some time. We finally got to stay here on a Saturday night. They let us check in early, we went straight to the 3rd level pool/bar/restaurant. Pool was busy as was the bar but that just added to the vibe. This launched us into our evening in Durham. We returned around 9pm to a rousing party with live music. The bar was hopping, people were dancing. A great summer night happening. The band stopped at 10 because it is a hotel, some may want to retire. That's ok, just move downstairs to the other bar/restaurant. This is party central. If you want a quiet, low key evening this may not be your place on a weekend night. Want to keep the energy pumping, this is your choice.

Dined last night in one of the rooftop igloos and it was a fantastic experience. The owner came to talk to us, great guy. The chefs are amazingly friendly telling us about the food. The servers were super friendly and fun too. Now, the food was something else; it was superb. Everything that I tried was delicious. The drinks were different and excellent. Lastly, the ambiance was so cool that we felt that we were home, guaranteed: we will return.

The igloos were so cool! There’s an electric fireplace inside so it’s nice and toasty, and a Bluetooth speaker so each igloo can pick their own music. It was harder than I thought to reach the $50 per person minimum. We ordered almost all the appetizers, one of each dessert, and multiple rounds of drinks for everyone before we hit the minimum, so it was a great value. All the food was delicious. I’d say the Brussels sprouts were my favorite appetizer and bread pudding was my favorite dessert. The spiked cider was really good as well.

Our waitress was really nice and chatted with us a lot. She had good recommendations on food.

I will say that they don’t tell you gratuity is added to the total. They bring you a receipt with just the total and a line to tip. So, if you give a tip, you’re really adding that to the 20% gratuity that’s already included in the final price.

Absolutely lovely hotel with a terrace/outdoor pool and cool, comfortable rooms. We all slept so well! Google TV made it easy for us to watch movies when it rained, and any personal details we entered (for Netflix etc) automatically delete every 24h. Live music on Friday night was great, and played generationally inclusive music - our group ranged from 22 y/o to 80 and everyone had a wonderful time. The two minor drawbacks (for me) were (1) shower only and (2) no coffee maker. Aside from this it was the perfect stay 😊

I visited The Patio at the Unscripted, where they have igloos set up for fine dining. It was a great experience and date night!! You can enjoy the scenic downtown Durham and a great meal all while comfortable in your own private igloo. Each igloo can comfortably seat around 6 people with lounge style seating. Plus, the igloos are heated for those chilly nights.

Came for a week long work trip. Amazing staff and wonderful location! Had a miscommunication about my rooms (my fault, haha) and the front desk employee when I checked in tonight was amazing and totally helped me out. She was funny, kind and helped me feel welcome. Got the room without a window on accident but it’s a great room and I didn’t even really notice. Will be back for sure.

We came for the Igloo experience for my birthday and it was so much fun. Such great photos and our group had a great time. The staff was fun, the drinks kept flowing, and the food was surprisingly delicious.

My family and I went for dinner on 11/24 at the igloos at the unscripted. And it was such a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was incredible, the igloos were well decorated and included a heater. We fit a family of 8 people and we’re very comfortable. The food was spectacular and the desserts were out of this world! 10/10 would recommend.

I’ve only gone to the outdoor bar but I’m in love with the fun vibe and great views. This hotel looks amazing and pushes that 1960s decor to the hilt. If you are looking for a perfect night out in Durham you can’t do better than hanging by the pool and sipping a cocktail overlooking the city.

When we first arrived, we thought - sketchy. Outside entrance etc but oh my fun was had. At the end, we realized the nice security, key pad for entrance to sleeping area etc. Dinner was fantastic!!! The staff was great! Only negative, the smart tv wouldn’t accept my cast and we couldn’t cast p&p. Ladies will understand!!! The hotel validate our parking as local residents. That helped a ton!

Fun place to stay, amazing location with many fantastic restaurants and bars within walking distance. We enjoyed a late night chilling by the pool and listening to the DJ.
I would recommend one of the rooms away from the pool otherwise you will not be able to escape the noise. 433 was great.
If you want a quiet place do not stay here, this is a more social hotel.
We will be returning.

We had a great time. Didn't stay but stopped off at the rooftop pool and bar. Had few drinks and enjoyed the band. We plan to visit next time we're in town.
