Durham Marriott City Center

Staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful. They accidentally sent me up to a dirty room at first, but when I came back down, they gave me access to the "M Club," so I could have free breakfast and snacks throughout my stay.
Location close to quite a few restaurants.
Nothing exceptional about the rooms or the gym, but they did the trick for what I needed!

This is my first time ever writing a review, and it’s all thanks to Stuart (the bartender at the hotel restaurant, Table South). I had the absolute blessing of coming to the hotel restaurant and being served by Stuart. My job allows me to travel every single day, and I am always experiencing new people, restaurants, and different levels of service. I have never had a better experience at a restaurant and it’s all thanks to Stuart. I watched him, as he went out of his way to make a connection with all of the Customers that came to the bar. He created an experience I’ll never forget and I am looking forward to coming back to this hotel just for his service. The world needs more people like Stuart. I hope anyone who comes here in the future has the pleasure of being served by him.

Been here last week and met the best bartender ever Stuart. He’s a great company and excellent bartender and made perfect old fashion!

Had a great stay during a business trip here. The rooms are well equipped, spacious and well decorated. I liked the couches in the room and the ambient lighting behind the bed was great too.

The staff was courteous from the check-in and the M-Lounge, Bar/Restaurant area downstairs in the lobby was also very active and fun at nights. The breakfast in the lounge was adequate and I liked that you can access the lounge 24/7 for soft drinks/coffee etc.

Huge common space at lobby. Decent Fitness Center. Great rooms, very clean.

Terrific amenities, service, and luxury appointed rooms. Pedestrian access to downtown businesses, entertainment, and retail...and spectacular staff. Business or tourism, you're in for a treat. High value - definitely worth every penny spent here with quiet rooms (are they sound proofed?!) that let this road warrior have a great night's sleep. Seriously 💯/💯.

amazing hotel with great staff. rooms and clean and the beds are amazing. You must checkout the lounge in the lobby. They offer light snacks and happy hour. The host in the lounge is fantastic. Amazing customer service and very knowledgable about Durham and very approachable.

The room was beautifully decorated and had a nice view. All outlets we tried worked. But there were some areas on the outer wall that appeared to have been water damaged and just painted over. Shower pressure was great and water was hot but tub drained slowly so by the end of a shower there were a couple inches of water. We didn't stay long enough for housekeeping to be needed but the personnel we interacted with were all very friendly. The lobby had a lot of comfortable seating areas and many had charging stations, which was very convenient.

Went for company ceremony event. Has no parking of its own, must pay. Some of the serving/service staff looked unkempt, shabby and sloppy. Expected more polished and neat appearance for this event. Wouldn't be encouraged to do a wedding here. But facilities were clean and polished.

All great!! They helped me from my 1st car door opening to the last when we left. Desk staff.... Wonderful. Cleaning staff ... Wonderful. Suite...Wonderful. Price...Wonderful. Breadfast included... Fabulous. had a great 3 day stay!!

My stay at the Durham Marriott City Center was excellent due to the fantastic customer service I received from Jazz, Brittany, Josh and Kaitlynn! We were there for a dance competition and the hotel was completely booked. Despite the large number of guests present, the staff mentioned above were polite and professional at all times. They went above and beyond to ensure every guests' needs were met. They are an invaluable asset to Marriott. The room was also very nice and clean. We enjoyed eating at the hotel and socializing at the bar. I will not hesitate to stay at this location again. The accommodations were great but the customer service was outstanding. We had a great stay recently at this hotel. Very modern, newly furbished rooms and fantastic location in downtown Durham. What took the cake was that we forgot a laptop in the room so the General Manager called us asap and took a lot of trouble to ship it to us safely. This hotel really went the extra mile to ensure our laptop made it's way back asap to us in one piece.

This is one of the best Marriott properties I have stayed at around the world. The staff is friendly and very nice. The lounge is very well setup and one of the better more spacious lounges I have been at.

The hotel is located in the heart of Downtown and so many shops, restaurants and bars are all in walking distance. Compared to other hotels in the area, this is an absolute gem that mixes updated rooms, great views with modern amenities and a mix of high-end hospitality that is more than just a cool concept. The management here is first rate. There is no better place to stay when visiting the area if you want to walk to world class restaurants and bars and be back in your hotel in 5 minutes.

The Durham Marriott City Center is located in downtown Durham. It is a 9 floor gem nestled in the heart of Durham's convention district with plenty of food and beverage options within walking distance.

While there isn't a pool here, the fitness center is open 24 hours a day. The property had a fun holiday event on Wednesday. Their celebration of Octoberfest was a beer and sweets sampling event hosted by Alexandra. It created a warm environment that greeted and involved guest at the door. It has been one of my more memorable experiences at any property.

The staff here really goes above and beyond with their service. Chanda, the server and bartender was great. She was friendly, fast, and made superb recommendations. Alonso recognized our status and he upgraded our room to the top floor.

Parking is valet only, as are most properties that are located downtown. The valet staff run 24-7. Raymond is the best.

I loved the concierge lounge. It opens for breakfast in the morning and has appetizers in the evenings during the week.

Considering the service alone, I would recommend the Durham Marriott City Center to anyone. But this property has more to offer than just a professional staff. The views and location are quiet and serene.

I cannot say enough about the staff and the quality of this hotel! From the moment we drove up and were greeted by the valet service…to the gracious reception at check in…to the cookies and fruit that greeted us when we returned from the concert (special shout-out to Brittany 💖) for my birthday…it was perfect! Every hotel should strive to be like this one! We’ll be back soon!

Great hotel! Very clean...staff was great and friendly!! Breakfast was great!! Rooms were very clean & spacious!! Great views of the city...close to everything!!! Highly recommend this hotel!!

The staff was extremely great! The hotel was very well maintained, nice and clean. I got great dining advice from the hotel's bellman. Plus, the Marriott Members lounge had a really nice snack area...great added touch. Having the conference center being attached was extremely beneficial.

Best breakfast I've had from a hotel that offers.

My brother and I stayed here while attending a rare and vintage beer festival. The room and service were both great, plus the hotel is within easy walking distance of so many things.

Quality hotel right in the middle of downtown, employees are friendly and rooms are nice and clean, no complaints.
