Absolutely love this little book shop in downtown Augusta. The building is beautiful, with a mix between new books & used to choose from. The staff was kind, and the pricing was fair. Will definitely be a regular here

Book lovers, take note! On my quest to explore bookstores everywhere I go, I stumbled upon this quaint spot. Don't let its size fool you – the collection is great, with an impressive array of LGBT and some foreign language books too, something I wasn’t necessarily expecting for the area. The highlight? The gentleman working there. Not only did he recommend a great poetry book, but he also shared some fascinating insights, making the visit educational and enjoyable. A must-visit for anyone who cherishes a good read.

I love this new location and enjoy the people who work here and lovely natural light. I especially appreciate how much the Book Tavern not only has a really good variety of books and publications but also does a ton with community events, organizing and support. One of the many backbone small businesses of our city!

I've visited this place a couple of times now when I'm in the area. I never leave empty handed. They have a wealth of titles, new and used, and really great staff. They always have great displays, as well, and promote local authors, which I love. I'd always rather spend my buck at a small or local business. It looks small, but they have tons of stuff, plus the store itself is cozy and cute.

Beautiful book store! Love their new location just down the way on Broad Street. Helpful staff and wide selection of books alongside neat little gifts. Happily spent some moolah during my first visit to the new spot. :)

A beautiful store with a wonderful and large selection of books for all ages. We found the perfect "living book" to gift our son's friend. Also, preordering a new book release was an easy and pleasant experience. Wonderful customer service! And when you visit, please remember to treat the staff as you would like to be treated.

I was only there to visit and look around, but the atmosphere alone is worth the trip! I met David who was lovely and told me a little about the history of the shop and what it has to offer! There was someone at the counter who definitely seemed like they are a regular and that makes me happy to see! They have some really cool art and vintage books that are worth checking out! Also met Calvin (playing the saxophone in my photo) which added a lovely touch of music and jazz to a scene that is perfect for reading!

Delightful selection of books, I always leave with a new and exciting read I didn’t even come in for. Their selling program is also great for those of us with limited bookshelf space. Love this bookstore!

Cozy bookstore that just got reopened near Nachos Mama's! Love the new place and interior inside. It looks more fresh and clean. They haven't moved all in yet but you can still go in and purchase books :)

If you love books, definitely check this place out when you visit downtown Augusta near the riverwalk. Great atmosphere and huge selection in a variety of genres. They also have a used book section. Support locally owned bookstores like this one — you won’t be disappointed!

Love this place! The book selection is amazing! There is pretty much anything you could want there!

A fantastic local bookstore within a gorgeous storefront. Great mix of new and used books at great prices.

Plus, they have a dedicated used/new horror section (and it has a LOT more than just Koontz and King)!!!!! Those of you that read horror fiction know that this is not always the case in other bookstores.

The staff is always friendly and willing to help you find what you need.

I probably visit this store 3-4 times a year when I travel through Augusta and encourage you to stop by!

I love the Book Tavern. They'll order books if they don't have them in stock. Even though I miss them being right beside New Moon Cafe, they really needed more space. Wall to wall books. Support your local book stores. I have to come from Aiken SC bc I will not shop a books a mil bc they put our local book store out of business.

This bookstore is stunningly beautiful. With tall shelves along each wall and a cozy balcony, this is a great place to find a book and read for a while!

The staff here is the best! They give good recommendations and I buy all of my books here (almost). The experience of reading is so much more enjoyable with the journeys that you take. I highly recommend you to take the journey to this spot! 🤙
