Devine's Restaurant & Sports Bar

We recently hosted a celebration of life for my mother-in-law, Betsy Kessler, at Devine’s Restaurant and Sports Bar, and I cannot express enough gratitude for how wonderfully everything turned out. Betsy was a beloved figure in Durham’s community, and the outpouring of love and support we received was deeply moving. I want to extend a special thank you to Gene Divine, the owner, for not only allowing us to use this venue for such a significant event but also for being an important part of Betsy’s life. The compassion, professionalism, and warmth provided by the staff made a challenging day much easier. We are immensely grateful for everything. Thank you, Gene, and everyone at Devine’s for your kindness and for helping us celebrate Betsy’s remarkable life in such a special way.

The best place to watch a Duke game!

Lunch Saturday - Shaved beef hoagie and BLT were good, fries the best. Beer too!

The atmosphere of this place is off the charts. Love watching Duke games here. Service is always great! Thanks, Gene.

Sat on the porch smoked a cigar.... had some drinks... watched the game... and had BOMB CHICKEN WINGS!! Local favorite for years.... great bar menu and service.

Came here on a whim, SO glad we did!!! Danya and Maddie were our bartenders. Super cool and made us feel right at home.

My buddies and I got lunch and everything was great!! Super cool dive bar, will definitely be back my next time in Durham! Highly Highly recommend if you're looking for a no frills watering hole with good food!

Devine has been a staple of Durham since 1978 and is still my go to for food and beverage when on Main St.

Great service and food. Maggie and Morgan were awesome. Spent a while here watching the women's final 4 games. Crowd really picked up on SAT around 1030 p

A nice little pub that's essentially a Duke bar. It's inexpensive with good pub food. It's a good little spot to eat prior to a game. The food was a little slow but it was a busy Saturday night and Duke was playing bball at home so it's understandable.

The chicken wings are awesome and the lady who took our order was amazing everything was correct the first time and we definitely will be back

Super chill spot! Ordered the Boston steak sandwich with fries! Very delicious! Asked the bartender to make me a fun drink and she supplied! Refreshing drink made on the spot! Outside had lots of tables in the patio area! Will be back!

Very enjoyable out on the patio. As a plus size person, the chairs were very comfortable and didn't dig into my hips. The restaurant next door had live music which would have been too loud if we were there but was an enjoyable volume from Devine's patio. The food was good and the service was great. The cocktails were watered down but otherwise...

Great venue with patio and indoor seating for lunch/dinner/snacking, hanging out with friends (birthday parties, reunions) & watching a variety of games on numerous flat screens! Traditional pub food with old standards (Big Guy Burgers, BLT, fries, tuna salad and includes the best wings in town with flavor varieties to fit any taste bud. A 40+ year establishment with live music/open mike. While some sports bars are new & flashy Devine's has weathered many storms of an ever changing Downtown Durham atmosphere since 1978 and continues to be comfortable, cool place to be!

Genie”s is the best place to go before or after a Duke football game

I love the wings. So far they are the best I have had in the triangle....when they are cooked right. It is hit or miss. When they are on point, the wings are life changing. The place is a bit run down, but I prefer this type of bar. I go once a week and the 5 star rating is for two reasons; Great wings and never crowded.

Devine’s is awesome love the pub style decor. Its a great sports bar. They have college night which is always wild and fun. The wings are so good! I always go for the wings and a good beer. The bartenders and servers are always friendly and welcoming. They greet you as soon as you get through the door.

What an eclectic place! Just a great, wooden, hole in the wall! Gives you a better feeling than walking into your house after a long day at work. Everyone knows everyone and everyone is better than the next. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel like you are able to kick off your shoes and put your feet up and relax. Metaphorically speaking of course! Danya, Julian, Brian, Savannah, and Whitley are like coming home from college and asking your mom to do your laundry. It's just one of the greatest places I've ever been.

Best burger I've ever had in my life. First person I've ever come across to poke the holes in the take away container so the food doesn't get all soggy. The drinks were great as well and Anthony was friendly. I live 3 hours away but I would seriously come back to this place. I would give more stats but there aren't any more :(
