Gateway Motel

We stayed at the Gateway last weekend. We were pleasantly surprised opening the door to our room to see it had been tastefully updated, spacious and clean. The AC was perfect with steady white noise all night, the beds were very comfortable and the owner went above and beyond to offer additional assistance that we needed while we were there. I'd give 10 stars for the customer service alone if I could!

We had the pleasure to stay in this newly renovated motel. Our room was absolutely beautiful, clean and comfortable.

We loved the Gateway! It was perfect for our little get away to catch some of the changing colors. Everything we needed was close by. The motel is a bit dated as far as decor but it is clean and has updates that are important. There was a small room heater that looks like a fireplace and there was a refrigerator and microwave as well. Hot coffee in the lobby with some danish for breakfast. The staff were all very welcoming. We loved are stay and will be sure to stay again.

Excellent place to stay. Rustically nostalgic where your not paying for amenities or overhead, and you will be transported back to a time when the things we were told mattered actually did. Room was clean, and with COVID-19 sanitizing protocols in place a fine place to stay.

Owners are good, down to earth people and I highly recommend this quiet, out of the way place to rest from your travels.

New owners from the last time I stayed here. They are just as gracious and friendly as the old owners. Was very accommodating and friendly. Nice mom and pop motel. Very clean and very peaceful surroundings. Great prices. But definitely stay here every time I come to Michigan.

The location was great, just fifteen minutes from the sand dunes where we had spent our day. When I called about prices, the owner was very kind. The room had brand new carpets and beds. It's the cleanest motel I have ever stayed in. We loved it.

Awesome mom and pop style motel. Very clean rooms with free coffee and pastries in the morning at the office. Also, unlike just about every other low cost motel I've been to, the rooms did not smell like smoke. I would definitely recommend this motel!

We stayed here on our trip to the dunes and have nothing but good things to say. We hadn't planned the trip in advance so this was about the only room we could find, but I'm glad we did. Its a bit of a drive to the dunes, but its very cozy, clean and the staff was nothing but nice and helpful. Will definitely be back.

Very quaint and cozy a bit outdated but I love the old feel it brings me back to childhood memories of grandmas. Definitely a place to stay again. Owners are wonderful!!!

Amazing, the people are so nice. It's quiet and they serve coffee and pastries at the office in the morning. Also they have bonfires and the owners are such nice people.

Great place to stay, close to Pentwater and Mears. Clean, comfy rooms. Deer in the back durring the evening. Friendly owners.
