Great old school bodybuilding gym and fitness gym. Really friendly and fantastic atmosphere. Thanks for letting me come in for a lift today.

The looks of the outside might have you second guess yourself, but the equipment on the inside shows you this is a place you come to lift. No frills, no glam, just straight old school vibes with everything you need. It's definitely a hidden gem amongst gyms.

Was out of town visiting family for the holidays, this was the only place that let me get a lift in without bieng a member, the owner is awesome and this place is straight up the real deal. If you want to focus on yourself and actually make gains, then come here

Today was my first day at asylum I usually go to planet fitness.. walking in was a culture shock for sure. I was greeted right in the door and explained everything right there. The way the gym is setup there is no way you can’t get right. Heavier weights and more of them!! Every single member there was super cool and a few people talked to me and even offered to spot me. If you want a hardcore gym to get yourself right this is the spot!!

The asylum is an excellent place for powerlifters or anyone looking to get involved in strength sports. The intense atmosphere promotes better workouts especially when metal music is being blasted during the day. However, the atmosphere isn’t quite the same in the evening. It tends to be more laid back due to the modern pop music being played. If you want to work out in a more energizing environment, daytime is the best time to go. I enjoy working out there very much so long as it is during day hours.

Got everything you need for heavy lifters. Gary and Vince are very knowledgeable and have great advice to give. Friendly and good for conversation too. Gym is only $20 a month and has every weight you could need

The best gym in Rockford without a doubt. Dumbbells go up to 160lbs and they are pure iron. All plates are steal and they even have 100lb plates. This gym allows chalk and encourage heavy lifting. They play heavy rock and metal music and even though this gym is truly a powerlifting and bodybuilding gym, they cater to everyone.The staff is very friendly and knowledgable, in addition to the members being very helpful as well. This gym is no joke and is truly hardcore.

Used this gym while visiting family when I was on vacation in the area. $20 for the week. They were the only place willing to accommodate. Old school feel. A real gym for sure. Weights and good people.

Old school throw back with a great resource for body building coaching via Vince. Powerlifters or those looking to put in mass will most likely dig the atmosphere

Great gym for serious lifters. Friendly and welcoming staff. Only downside is it's not 24hr.

Really cool gym that has good machines and great music. They should put up a sign because they are not easy to see from the road.
