Wonderful!
I thank God, RPS 205 and Dr Oates for the services my grandson received! My grandson was in need of dental care which our insurance didn't cover and in order to get treatment I would have have to travel to Chicago. Fortunately Dr Oates and his commitment to the children in the community where he lives stepped up and provided the care that seemed out of reach for me and my grandson. There are not enough words to express the gratitude I feel in my heart.
Thank you Dr Oates for being a willing provider when so many others place profit over the well being of a child. They say that it takes a village to raise healthy and wholesome children and I am proud to have you in our village ❤.

I am so impressed by everyone and everything that goes on at Oates Dental. Kind, friendly and they make going to the dentist fun. Thank you for you wonderful care over the years.

Dr.Oates was so wonderful with my 5 year old son. I was just so amazed how easy he made the procedure seem. He walked/talked my son through every step. Made my son comfortable. I am just so happy I brought my son to him.

This Dr is an outstanding and great person. He also has and chooses outstanding and amazing staff. He does so much for the community this area is lucky to have a man like him in it.

I made an error with my calendar and showed up one hour and 15 minutes too early for my appointment. They were WILLING to accommodate me and able to see me. How cool is that?

The people who work with him are also highly skilled and stay working for him.....that alone should tell you something about the quality of the person helping you to have a great smile! Thank you all at Oates Dental!!!!!

Dr. H. Cyrus Oates & his entire team are extraordinary professionals! Dr. Oates is very knowledgeable & personable. He has been my dentist for over 15 years. He has done an array of services to keep my teeth healthy & beautiful. He is a master at putting his patients at ease! His dental hygienist, Jody, is sensitive & skilled. His office assistant, Marsha, takes care of business quickly & efficiently!! They are an exceptional team!!!

Dr. Oates and his staff have provided me with exceptional dental are for 6+ years. I find the entire staff to be not only very knowledgeable, but super accommodating. Anyone looking for a new dentist should strongly consider Oates Dental.

My Special needs Son is so so afraid of the dentist from past experiences.He would puke at the thought of going dentist . He said I am now over my phobia of dentists I love this place can’t wait to go back ! I’m in tears 😭. I am so thankful and grateful Dr oats and team ! My son said I give them 5 stars ⭐ this is huge !! Thank you so so much ! Def a great place !!

Very satisfied with the service! Very kind receptionist and staff!!! My kids were extremely scared to go to the dentist, but now they love coming to Dr. Oates!!!!

Never again, this man was so awful to my daughter and my mother. My mother attended a appointment with my daughter for me. He kept drilling in my little girls mouth after she raised her hand 4x. Mind you before they started my mother told her raise your hand if you feel anything. She raised her hand he didn’t care. My mom moved closer to sooth her. He says to my mother, grandma your not making it any better. I’m overly upset & heart broken. My daughter is a very well behaved child. This type of behavior as a grown man isn’t expectable. I don’t care if he was having a bad day you don’t take it out on my child. You are a business man who works with children. You don’t get to go around traumatizing peoples child. You don’t continue to afflict pain on a child. You don’t know if she’s hard to numb like I am! How dare you your a disgusting person. My child is a very soft personality. "She said mama I don’t understand why he kept hurting me when I raised my hand mama, I really did! What goes around comes around Ashé!

We waited 45 mins without so much as a thank you for waiting or updates on why we were waiting. Dr Oates was short tempered and verbally abused he my son. It was absolutely HORRIBLE. He was yelling at 7 year old who was brought to tears. AWFUL DENTIST. THE DOCTOR HAS NO PROFESSINALISM. I can't believe RPS 205 allows him to go into schools and treat children.

Called and spoke to the receptionist who asked for our insurance which I gave her. She then proceeded to ask if our children were enrolled in the Rockford Public School system. I told her that they were not and was immediately told that they only treat children enrolled in the RPS and to have a nice day.

I still cannot really process that conversation. But if you happen to be looking for a dentist for your children and are not enrolled in RPS 205, then save your time and look elsewhere especially as this is not noted anywhere on their website.

Wish I could give 0 stars after contacting my insurance provider to find a dentist for my 9 year old & 3 year old daughters. They gave me this location and number. I called to schedule an appointment & I kindly asked if they accepted Ilinicare insurance through the state of IL since my insurance said they did & the receptionist was nothing but rude, with a very unpleasant attitude! Her exact words were "nope we're not supposed to be on that list, but they continue to put us on it SORRY! bye" I hurried up to ask how much out of pocket it'd cost me & she breathes heavily in the phone like she's annoyed I called. Sorry last I checked she chose that position & if she's annoyed with people calling asking simple questions then maybe she should second guess working with people on & off the phones. (Speaking from someone who used to work in an E.R on the phones) having a bad day...?? Check it at the door because what I just encountered over the phone was unprofessional! I'll never recommend this place & even if my insurance did cover it, the woman's attitude was enough for me to not want to bring my children in at all for an exam.
