Fun, clean, great history. This is a great spot to stop along 290. The tour guide is outstanding and she knows her stuff. The gift shop has great souvenirs. It’s amazing that they still let you go and get up close to the 100+ year old cotton gin. They even had a little quick movie about the history of it. They have a huge pavilion that host a festival every April! Don’t miss this gem if you’re traveling along 290.

Great use of a previous ginning mill for educational purposes. They also grow a tiny patch of cotton. The tour guide is knowledgeable and engaging. They run the mill now only once a year for demonstration in April. The admission is free on the Festival in April and is an excellent opportunity for kids.

I scheduled a field trip here for our homeschool group and Tynan made the process so easy! He was accommodating, organized and so friendly. We had a large group and even though it was Tynan and Steph, they did a wonderful job helping us juggle the group to experience all the fun had to offer. The tour led led by Tynan was engaging and he was so good about making sure the kids were paying attention, asking and answering questions. He even answered parent questions too. They have a cute gift shop as well. I highly recommend a trip here if you’re in the area. A great way to support a small business. We will absolutely be returning in the future!

The huge gin machine reminds us how much progresses we have got in mechanical technology in past 100 years. You will feel proud for our Texans’ business collaborations in doing big constructions in the early days. Highly recommended!

So much history in our small little town and this museum is the prized jewel of them all. Great place to host events under the cool new pavilions too.

This place is great country fun steeped in Texas history! This is our second visit, coming out for their 30th Annual Cotton Gin Festival. Lots of fun vendors, a classic car show, tractor pull, awesome local music and food, and they actually fire up the cotton gin and make a ceremonial bale!

If you're ever in the area, stop by for a tour. It only takes an hour and the staff are very friendly, willing to answer all your questions. Find out how cotton shaped Texas history today!

We didn't get to go inside the Gin itself as it was raining heavily but the museum is pretty nice and well worth a visit.

What a delightful surprise to find out my husband‘s great grandfather and great uncle were original shareholders at this Cotton-gin! Our Tour Guide Steph was very knowledgeable, personable and informative. You learned so much and truly appreciate the sacrifices people made when they lived off the land. In honor of my husbands and daughters ancestors, we even purchased a Legacy Brick on the path from the museum to the gin. This is a true gem in the little town of Burton Texas!

Mist have been grueling for those poor families who had to labour in the hot Texas summer to pick the crop... smh.
And then the plight of the slaves... Lord have mercy!

Awesome! This was my first time to ever go inside the 100+ yr old Cotton Gin to get an up close look at the interior workings of the old Gin. Watching that old Bessemer engine crank up is something to see.

Most friendly and positive ladies you can ever find work here. They'll take you on a whole tour through the cotton gin factory back there which is there since some 19th century and its still running perfectly. Theres an event area on the front yard where you can chill out with a lots of fresh air. Their restrooms are clean and fresh with powerful ac, and they have nice and cold water fountain in front.

Amazing piece of history right there. Very nice and knowledgeable museum staff. We went there with kids of different ages and they all enjoyed the visit. I would recommend if you are in the area. There is a small museum, then a 15’ movie to watch, and 30 to 45’ tour of the old cotton gin.

what a unique piece of Texas, engineering and agricultural history. I have seen these big, tin, abandoned buildings all over Texas my entire life and finally got to see what went on inside them for most of the 1900s. Very interesting!

Great display, movie and tour through historical cotton gin. Really helped me to understand agriculture in the early to mid 1900s in this part of the country as well as how the US fits into the cotton growing industry now. There were children on the tour with us and they were very engaged and clearly enjoyed it too.
