Mountains to Sea Trail Parking Area

Great spot to pick up the MST. Small gravel parking on the left about 1/4 mile before park entrance. Going west will take you to the boardwalk, and going East will take you back towards Falls Lake Rec Area. Keen spot to run and enjoy the trails.

Small gravel parking area located across from the Rolling View Recreation Area entrance sign. Two trails leave this parking area. The first trail is located by the road near the sign board, just follow the blue blaze crossing Baptist Road at the cemetery and the trail continues on to the MST. The second trail is in the back of the parking area by the “No camping” sign. Follow the blue blaze for about 0.3 of a mile to the white blazing for the Mountains to the Sea Trail. Turning right will take you back to Rollings View entrance road just north of the guard shack. Turning left will take you to the boardwalk about 4.2 miles away.

Excellent trail both West and east, not technical

I live near here and I love this park. It's a great walk for a nice day. Fairly level and a nicely maintained, well marked trail.

Nice parking area to jump on the mountains to sea trail. It's a bit hard to spot so be ready for a sharp turn. The Google maps location is accurate.

Nice place to park and take a walk in either direction of the MtS.trail.

As a past through trail I am sure it's great. But if you are just a casual hiker camping overnight at a state park in the area, it isn't great. It doesn't actually follow the shore so there isn't much to see and because it is part of a larger trail system it doesn't loop or lead to any monuments. I will leave it to the real hikers.
