Hatteras Library

We LOVE this library & the whole library system! The staff is pure gold! They are so friendly, knowledgeable & wonderful!!! We have used this library extensively over the years for our home schooling education & pleasure reading. We find new gems all the time. The Hatteras library is packed with great books & resources. Highly recommend!!

One of my lifelong favorite spots on Hatteras Island - I am so very thankful that the library is in the village. I grew up riding my bike here, attending summer reading programs and am pretty sure I read every single book in the young adult section. I still read as much today -- at least 100 books a year and love that I don't have to buy them all!

Excellent library! Unfortunately it was closed to browsing due to COVID, but the staff was extremely accommodating and left books for pick-up as well as craft kits for my nephews. Very kind gesture that was greatly appreciated!

A real gem of a library! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, surprising scope of services and collection. Love the honor system beach offerings and frequent book sales! limited hours and parking can be a little challenging.
