An unexpected surprise in Greenwood. An historic hotel that is modernized just enough to preserve its charm. We loved everything about it. Super staff and a small but great bar with locals stopping by.

We absolutely adored our first stay here.
Desk and valet personnel were charming and hospitable. Breakfast hostesses were equally as gracious. Rooms were designed with fine quality flooring and frames. Bed linen, towels and bathing amenities were quite up to-par. We will definitely return.

I loved the hotel, but they need to do something about people just letting the doors slam shut at all hours of the night. Put a not on the elevator walls, in the rooms, anything.

Stayed in Greenwood for work and loved staying at this hotel. Nice breakfast spot in the mornings which also has a patio you can hang out in at night. Nice bar area. Great fixture in that community. Rooms very nice - especially the bathrooms.

Beautiful hotel oasis in a depressingly poor area of the country. The hotel, owned and operated by Viking, is a small boutique hotel in downtown Greenwood. The rooms are large and have all the modern amenities you would expect. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Parking at the hotel is free either on the street or in the lot behind the hotel. They have an excellent southern breakfast buffet on the top floor terrace that includes eggs, biscuits, grits, potatoes, and assorted breads.

Still one of the best hotels in the state of Mississippi. The southern charm and attention to detail is second to none. I have family and friends that have raved about this place. It is something that you just don't find in small towns like Greenwood. This place is not for the faint of heart - if you are watching your budget! There is a price to pay for luxury and top shelf service. I suggest even if you don't get a chance to spend the night. Have a romantic dinner, book a banquet, hang out in the garden or just relax at the bar. For you first timers you will never forget this experience. I know people that have spent their honeymoon here and they come back every year. The location is right in the heart of downtown. Check out the great small town stores - I guarantee that you will find something that you like.

The Mississippi Delta's luxury hotel. Accomodations are of the highest quality. The hotel features an adjacent spa as well as cooking courses from Viking. Delicious complimentaty breakfast, shuttle service, and amazingly helpful, friendly staff. Enjoy the history and food of the Greenwood area.

Excellent the front desk was the second best part of our stay. Number 1 goes to the great bellman that helped us out with the immense amount of luggage we had!

Unbelievably charming. "Hidden gem" doesn't do it justice. Every square inch of this place is charming. Our street side room meant that (during reasonable hours) jazz could be heard from the street. Stay AT LEAST two nights or you'll regret not staying longer.

Beautiful accommodations in a quaint, Delta town! Breakfast is a must, especially the blueberry scones. Also, book a cooking course or Spa services just across the street. Live music and happy hour each evening off the lobby, a beautiful southern courtyard out back and a wonderful restaurant with curtained, private dining rooms available.

What a gem of a place. I love how the older hotel (which I had seen in an old postcard) was transformed into this wonderful jewel. The b&w photos on the hallway walls, the fabulous library of books all about the south on the big bookshelf in the dining room, the wrap-
around deck, the restaurant with the private curtained dining, which kept, the feeling of history lives in this building and combined with the modern updates and comforts works so well. It is
a place I'd love to visit again. I had been traveling from New Orleans heading to Memphis and had come to Greenwood to visit Robert Johnson's grave and it was getting late in the day and was told by a resident, Sylvester Hoover, a local Robert Johnson historian, where to find Johnson's grave and about the Alluvian Hotel, that BB King would stay there when he was visiting annually giving a free concert ( he originated from Indianola). Rather than to push on to my destination to Memphis, as it was getting late in the day, and I still wanted to see the Blues Museum down the street too, I checked into the Alluvian for the night. What a treat! The breakfast in the that big dining room was fabulous, best grits ever! Later on I saw a Denzel Washington film titled Mississippi Marsala which was filmed in Greenwood in which Denzel's character's father was working in the restaurant, Giardina's which was founded in 1936. It was a wonderful experience!

I have stayed at the Alluvian several times. It never disappoints. Last week they had Ben Shaw playing the piano in the lounge. He is totally amazing!! Hopefully, he will be back real soon. I would love to bring my friends to hear this accomplished musician.

Top notch boutique hotel. Bar is very nice, and Giardina's Restaurant next door is great also. And of course do the Viking Cooking School that's across the street!

I Stayed here in 2006 for a Viking conference, and I'm glad it's still open. It was kind of a bastion of luxury when Greenwood was shuttered shops and tumbleweeds. It's beautiful and it's great they're still around!

A very very nice hotel in the middle of the Delta. Plus, the neat little shops in the walkable downtown makes for a pleasant experience. Oh, and the staff is super nice and helpful.
