Located very close to Fredericksburg and the historic northern neck area. The owners work very hard to put on a variety of events throughout the year. They love to have paranormal focused events as well as themed afternoon teas and Christmas parties. Absolutely check out their website for up to date events they have going on.

Plus, you can always tour the great house even if they don't have an event.

An easy drive from Maryland to enjoy high tea at the plantation. Wonderful tea service and delicious scones, finger sandwiches and desserts. Following tea we toured the Manor House with knowledgeable guides. This place is a treasure!

I had the special pleasure to stay here for a night in order to attend a Titanic tea the next day. What a special venue. Rooms were outstanding and impeccably decorated.

I had the salmon for dinner. Delicious! Michelle was a great host and fabulous cook. I very much enjoyed chatting with her and her husband Brett. Such nice welcoming people. The breakfast was equally delicious the next day and it was nice to meet other guests staying there.

I attended a tour prior to check in. What a treat. Be sure to make time for this on your visit. I enjoyed learning all the history on this place, as well as the extra tidbits about the rooms, furnishings and other goings on at the house.

There is tea for purchase and a gift shop in the basement, as well as more information on the history of the plantation.

I could clearly see Michelle's passion for this wonderful place at every turn. Her attention to every detail made this a wonderful experience all around.

I booked the Madison Suite for my elderly mom and her husband to celebrate her birthday and their honeymoon. They had a fabulous stay! Definitely recommend breakfast on the porch of that suite as that was one of their favorite parts. She said everyone was so kind and helpful. Michelle was amazing to work with in coordinating their stay. Would highly recommend a stay here.

This is a gorgeous old plantation on the Rappahanock River. The rooms are huge. There are only 4, so it makes for a nice, private stay. The porch overlooking the river is the perfect place for an early cup of coffee! The breakfast was delicious. A great place to stop and stay for awhile.

Went for a formal tea party. It was delightful with finger sandwiches, scones, pastries and of course many flavors of tea. We had a tour of the historic building and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

What a wonderful and historical stay! My wife and I chose to make this the first stay of our honeymoon, and we are so glad we did!
We stayed in the Conway Suite, and were so impressed with the historical upkeep to keep it like a traditional plantation home. The grounds are beautiful!

The meals are homemade luxury meals, having a choice of eating in the room, on the patio, or on the portico.

In the evening we were able to participate in a ghost tour, with an authentic ghost investigation society!

Definitely looking forward to staying here in the future.

This beautiful old plantation house is extraordinary and so much to see. Each room has historic artifacts and will keep your attention throughout the stay. But a lot of the charm comes from the staff/manager. She is a delightful historian superseding all expectations! The menu is solely hers as well and is exquisite! Her heart is in this house and they are welcoming. The views from the grounds are simply beautiful and peaceful. I strongly recommend this stay!

To start, we drove up from Virginia Beach on a Friday evening when we got off of work, so we appreciate being accommodated with a later check-in. The weather threw some challenges our way when it came to the Belle Grove and our room. However, we appreciate the accommodations that were made in order to make sure we could still enjoy our stay. Even though we didn’t get to stay in the Madison Room on Friday night, it made the stay more interesting and enjoyable that we got to stay in two different rooms over the weekend. Both rooms were immaculate, beautiful and comfortable. We fell in love with the entire plantation. The history, the decor, the beautiful scenery… all of it. Michelle & Brett were the most kind, people pleasing, hosts. Michelle’s meals we’re amazing. I highly recommend the dinner and breakfast packages during your stay.
We also got the pleasure of meeting their son, Tyler, who lead our paranormal investigation of the plantation during our stay. He was very professional, pleasant, and made sure his guests had hands on participation and experiences during the hunt. The spirits were very active for us. I already cannot wait to come back for another over night stay and investigation. We’ll be back as soon as we can get away from the kids for a night!
Brett & Michelle, we sincerely hope you know how much we appreciated everything this weekend. Hope to see you all again soon!

We went here for a Native American powwow. Took a brief tour through the house, there is a lot of history here. During the tour, our guides earring just flew out of her ear. Supernatural? I really dont know, but I will admit it was strange! I was told by one of the other visitors that he seen a female ghost last night in one of the rooms. Would I come back to a more indepth tour? Absolutely!!!

I could not recommend this B&B highly enough. My wife and I visited and just fell in love with it. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful rooms, outstanding food, and a wonderful staff. The grounds are large enough to wander around with great views of the Rappahannock River and abundant wildlife. We stayed in the Madison room which was great, but it was also nice to be able to comfortably wander through the house and take advantage of the many common areas to relax, read, or browse the extensive book collection. We especially enjoyed the upstairs porch overlooking the river. Simply outstanding, and we've already planned a return trip. Thank you Brett and Michelle for a wonderful time!

WOW! What a wonderful experience! We made a last minute reservation and were thrilled that they could accommodate a 4 course vegan meal as well as a fantastic vegan breakfast. Michelle and Brett are the most gracious hosts we could have asked for. They were so kind and clearly love what they do. The entire experience was beyond our expectations. The level of service we received was exemplary!
I highly recommend all aspects of Belle Grove, from the standard tour, to the ghost hunting tour and especially an overnight stay! Fantastic in every way! Thank you again to our lovely hosts for making this a truly remarkable experience!

I attended the Spring Bazaar at Belle Grove Plantation, King George, Va this past weekend and had a wonderful time. There was a very nice variety of vendors that were small businesses, crafters, face painter and a very happy clown, as well as delicious food!
The tea was lovely and I found the tour to be amazing. There was a lot of work done in the restoration of Belle Grove as was evident in the decor. The docent was very knowledgeable about the history and gave us a wealth of information about its beginnings and importance in our history. There obviously has been much research done as it was shared extensively during our tour. There are four beautifully decorated bedrooms available for their bed and breakfast each boasting of their own historic occupants.
I enjoyed my day and found that others on the tour were equally pleased. I look forward to another visit! Thank you so much to the owners and staff of Belle Grove Plantation.

This bed and breakfast is beyond extraordinary. A U.S. President's birthplace has been exquisitely restored and furnished with dazzling period pieces, with no expense spared. Staying there is like visiting a museum and being allowed to stay overnight and make yourself comfortable. And the hostess, Michelle, is not just a dedicated and knowledgeable historian of Mr. Madison, but a truly amazing, delightful person from who exudes genuine, warm hospitality. And she is an amazing chef who serves breakfast on your balcony overlooking the river! This was a stay of a lifetime. Go.

Awesome get away spot on the potomac river. The house has a lot of history and Michelle is an outstanding host. If you stay be sure to sample the menu, as Michelle created some amazing meals - TRY THE MEATLOAF! Also make sure to look at the monthly events as they change every month and are always themed.

Belle Grove tea room is set in a beautiful historic location. It is the birthplace of the fourth President of the United States, James Madison. Because it is a private residence, the hosts are able to offer things such as ghost tours, Tea with Elvis, and it can serve as a wedding venue or a location for a private party. The base price for tea was $35 per person. It included a choice of teas (blended in-house), and both savory and sweet options. There's enough food to serve as a meal. 9 of us we're seated around a large oval table. The gold napkins in elegant napkin rings along with delicate tea cups, saucers, and teapots made the whole experience feel very special. Due to the timing tea can only last an hour but that seemed like more than enough time. Most items were made in house with a great deal of care. The hostess is quite lovely and intuitive. Rest assured I will visit again.

We had one of the loveliest, most delectable Afternoon Teas followed by a tour given by a charming, knowledgeable docent ever! The food was delicious & the teas are made especially for Belle Grove. It is a pleasure to see the progress over the past few years. Our guests from Seattle said they were very impressed with everything about Belle Grove!
