Basecamp Tahoe South

This place is so nice and worth the price. Maddie was at the desk and she was so awesome. Despite system issues that were keeping them from creating the room cards she made sure we got into our room and found us a room to check in early. She is great and they are so lucky to have her. I will definitely be back here and tell all of my friends and family about it.

This hotel was THE best location for us while attending an all day music festival at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena next door. It was a 3 minute walk. We had a basic king room but it was anything but basic (except for lighting and scavenging for outlets.) The morning employees were much more friendly and helpful than the evening dude. They didn't text me when my room was ready as I requested but they did let us park early to get to the concert. It was a bit rowdy in the afternoon but super quiet at night. We were on the second floor right near the lobby and the only thing we heard was the lobby music. The other side near the beer garden was definitely louder. We saw the small hot tub right next to our room but quite a few families were utilizing it as a pool for their kids so we walked over to the other hot tub next to the beer garden and found to be HUGE and empty! We could hear the live music coming from the beer garden and it added to the ambiance. We tried the coffee place (lots of good reviews) but it was pretty mediocre and pricey. I noticed four or five full drinks next to the trash cash so I'm guessing I'm not the only person who did not care for the coffee. When we asked about lake access we were offered vouchers for a private beach.You can walk or rent a scooter OR take the Lakeside Association free shuttle. You pay a discounted rate and may come and go for the day. It was awesome! The bed was a little too soft and the shower felt a bit claustrophobic. We never figured out how to turn on the fireplace. There were quite a few remotes and no instructions. Bonus star is for the ceiling fan in the room AND the standing fan. I run hot and it was nice to have access to both. You have to ask in the lobby for pool towels. Seriously, I think if the morning staff had been there in the afternoon/evening we'd know about all the things we had to figure out ourselves. Just ask questions because the dude won't tell you.

07/15/24 Stayed a couple nights with the family. Kid friendly. Convenient location, walking distance to Heavenly area. Offers two tickets a day for private beach discounted to $5 each person. Trailfolk Coffee shop on site-recommend. Fun hangout outdoor area for the fam with food, drinks, live music, s'more making, board games on-site, and corn hole. Place was bigger than I thought, the carpet and curtains were worn out-no big deal- but more importantly the rooms and bedding are clean, and comfortable. Customer service good, just might have to wait if staff is currently helping out someone on the premises. The noise of the music didn't bother us,, I enjoyed the atmosphere. Room walls weren't thin so privacy was good. Parking free but could be a challenge if this place is maxed out, not the best but doable. Felt safe. No problems. Be careful with the bunk beds,, its easy for anyone to hit there heads on the bunk frame, especially little ones, but the convenience and extra bedding is worth it. Good pricing per night. Overall very satisfied and would go again. Fantastic spot with a fun vision I think is well executed.

Cutest motel ever, with a little coffee shop and restraunt. The night we stayed they had live music on the other side and we had an absolute blast. It's quite the little gem!

Very friendly staff. Stayed for 2 nights. We liked the location, very close to everything. The rooms were nicely decorated. They have a brewery that offers a lot of variety of beers. Their food is also good.

Didn't actually go here, but could hear the music from the balcony at Harveys. Sounded great! Looked like everyone was having a great time. I want to actually visit this place sometime. Keep the great music coming!

We loved our stay at basecamp!! Maddie, Lizeth, and Alexiah at the front desk were so friendly and helpful they made the check in/checkout experience great! They had free on site parking which is always nice. It is in a great location close walking distance to the heavenly village and casinos. The rooms are so cozy and cute! I love how they are decorated on theme. And there is directv in the rooms with plenty to watch which was nice. We enjoyed the beer garden at night and the coffee shop they have as well in the morning. We can NOT wait til our next stay here!!

Great place to stay in South Lake! The staff is awesome and we stayed on a hot weekend and the new AC's worked great! We enjoyed a beer and round of cornhole at the brewery and loved the ability to just walk down to the beach.

Maddie with an I-E was the most professional and courteous host I've ever had the pleasure to interact with. Rachel was also an A+ example of what you would hope to see in a hotel receptionist. I hope my sons are lucky enough to marry women as amazing as Maddie and Rachel. The hotel is amazing, and location couldn't be better. There are multiple hot tubs, a coffee bar, and brewery. You couldn't imagine a better place to say. I love this place.

We had the best experience at basecamp south thanks to Maddie and lizeth! I mistakenly booked a hotel in the wrong location and we wound up in Tahoe with nowhere to stay. Maddie and lizeth were sympathetic to my situation and began checking for rooms immediately! They found a couple rooms and they suggested something close to the courtyard since we had our 1 year old with us & worked on finding the room that would suit our needs the best. They saved our weekend and we got a good laugh out of it - and suggested we grab a (much needed) drink that they keep there at the front desk. We absolutely will be staying here everytime we visit!

Super vibey renovated hotel. It has multiple compounds including a beer garden. Live music. Rooms are ok and old school. Great beer at South of North.

Amazing place. Huge public area in the back with a pool, fire pits, and I believe a bar. Room's were comfortable and warm. 5 stars.

Had some trouble with booking and Maddie, Alexiah, and Lizeth helped me more than any other person would in a heart beat. Please please please go visit and experience the home away from home you never thought you would have.

We were impressed with how clean our room was. The person at front desk was also very friendly. Also, they have an amazing hot tub outside. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would stay here with our family in the future as well.

Trendy with lots of fun details like a beer garden, live music (even on a Monday), roof hot tub, and morning coffee bar. We stayed in their most basic room and it was pretty bare and not super private but it was clean and had the best in-room coffee (pour-over) I've ever had at a hotel. We were really tired and wanted to go to sleep early so we weren't the biggest fans of the moderately loud music playing in the walkways outside our door until 10. Booked in early October and got a great deal! I would recommend Basecamp to those who appreciate a trendy and lively environment!

Nice change of pace hotel option. DirecTV in room, balcony, walk to the brewery in 60 seconds! What more can you ask?

Maddie was very personable when we came to the front desk. My husband and I shared some great laughs with her. Basecamp overall is a cool spot to stay. Walking distance to quiet a few places. The outside patio and beer garden is nice. We went to the beer garden while there was a private event going on so we didn't get to sit next to the fire. That was the only bummer.

So kind, accommodating, and gave us the best experience here. The cafe here is amazing too, smoothies are all made fresh! Will def come again thank you for making us feel so welcomed!!

Came twice for spring skiing and it was a lovely experience. Fair value with clean comfortablw rooms; pet friendly rooms and atmosphere! Got early check in and late checkout with no issues (including a super early one around 9!!!). Hotel is very centrally located to the heavenly gondola and the little surrounding village/casinos; most things are a short walk away.

Two clean hot tubs which were usually empty, including a large one served by an awesome brewery with adjacent live music!
