We worked with Shirleen and Chuck Kistner for our kitchen floor. I was looking for a specific look and could not find the tiles anywhere. I walked into Carpets by Otto and found it immediately. Shirleen and Chuck were very hands on throughout the project checking progress regularly. We needed serious floor leveling for our 1920’s home in additional to the tile. It turned out awesome!

We purchased through our Costco membership and Carpets by Otto was the local provider. DJ was very helpful and thorough through the whole process. The installers were great on both our laminate and carpeted areas. Was overall a very positive experience. Thanks DJ!

My parents wanted to replace their carpet in the living room and office after a new sub floor was installed. I suggested they go through Costco and get a free quote from Carpets by Otto. They agreed and the initial appointment was set up for the very next day. My mom was impressed with the samples that were shown to her for both the pet resistant carpeting and the pet resistant padding. She made her choice of color without my dad because he was in the hospital at the time. The carpet was installed and both of my parents are extremely satisfied with the professional service and the carpet. My dad loves the color my mom selected. The product lives up to the pet resistant name because it has been challenged by their dog, my sister's dog and my dog. My dad follows the directions for any stains and it cleans up beautifully. The carpet installation was the only part of the project that my parents were 100% satisfied with. My mom was not happy with the lady who cleaned the walls in preparation for the painter. My dad was not happy with the painter or the installation of new baseboards. Well done Carpets by Otto. Thank you for your fantastic service and we sing your praises. We have no hesitation to recommend your company to others in need of carpet for flooring.

I have worked with DJ on several projects. The selection and service is excellent, and whenever I have had a question he is knowledgeable and quick to respond or point me in the right direction (kids, dogs, wear as part of the consideration in the selection process). Have referred them many times now!

Excellent choice of carpet, ceramic tile, & vinyl. The employees are well versed on the products, and offer advice on choices to fit customer needs.

Nice carpet, fast installation, friendly people all around, better prices than the big box stores. Definitely will shop there again for any carpet needs.

Stay clear of this place , and Amy Cameron, the sales person, what a rip off, I went in there, I picked out carpeting, I was told that she would be able to measure my house, she was there for two hours, measuring talking, chatting estimating, she gave us a quote of about $2300 for the two rooms I wanted done. This was on a Thursday, (I was happy with that price), Saturday she called me back and told me she had made a dollar mistake, I said I can afford a dollar, she says no a dollar a square foot, which made it $700 more than what she had quoted me, after thinking about it, I thought well maybe I’ll go ahead and do it because at Costco, you get a rebate at 15% at carpets by Otto,, so then Tuesday she calls and tells me she needs a copy of the title to my house (it’s-a mobile home), I said, what do you need that for, you’re just laying carpeting, and she said because they had to prove that I did not have lead paint in this house, I said, first of all, it’s a mobile home is paneled, there is no paint in here, second of all you were here for two hours you saw that there was no paint, and they didn’t do lead paint after 1978 in homes, our home is definitely newer than 1978, and there was this arguing, so they had somebody call me from Costco and tell me that it’s Costco‘s policy they have to have the title, but Amy told me it was a government policy, let’s make up my mind who is lying here, finally the owners daughter called I believe her name is Kelly, and told me also, that it was a Costco policy. Also, I never heard of it. She said, what can we do to make you happy,, this was after she said, Amy had bought a brand new house, just give me the carpeting that I originally ordered with the padding that I ordered for the original price and I’ll be happy, Kelly proceeded to tell me we certainly can give you carpeting in your price range, I said give it to me in the price range that Amy quoted me. This just wasn’t happening, so now all this drama all this )anxiety, Amy’s in a new house and I have no carpeting, anxiety, and all the stress, and stress and stress the customer service here is awful (apparently so was the sales person) stay away from this place.

After what was an amazing sales pitch, and many guarantees of the quality, we decided on purchasing carpet. On our installation they sent the wrong cut of carpet, and were short by 9 feet. On top of the wrong sized carpet the installers also left trash all over my drive way. So after discussing our options, we had to wait a month until new carpet could be ordered. Then we had a scheduled date for the second installation, but the installer was over 5 hours late and still at least an hour out before we told him to come back another day. The following week our carpet is installed, other than minor damage to the baseboards i was satisfied.

About a month after being installed our puppy threw up on the stain and animal proof carpet. We paid Stanley Steamer to professionally clean the carpet, but the stain remains. After claims decides they are responsible for fixing the stain we r told that we r getting new carpet. This sounds great but now have moved into that room and installed built-in closet system. Our other rooms are currently under construction so we don’t have a place to move our bed and actually sleep at night. Carpets by Otto expects us to wake up before i leave to work at 5:30 AM unassembled our bed and move it to the living room so they can install new “stain and animal proof” carpet.

I think it goes without saying i regret choosing the big box store with more selection. Next time i purchase carpet it will not be from a company that shows such little professionalism when dealing with issues caused by there own mishandling of the situations. Yes my puppy did have an accident, but there sales woman swore by and sold us on the idea that at most we might need Stanley Steamer to clean it. These now seem to feel like cheap sales tactics and an easy way to add to the commission by upselling us a “superior” product.

Let me first start out by saying I used the company 6 years ago and was very happy with the whole process, but this time was not the case. Carpet was to be delivered between 12-2 on Monday and they did not show up til after 4 pm. During the removal of the carpet the installers took multiple smoke breaks, used the bathroom, charged their phones in my outlets, left trash in my window sill, and asked for cold beverages. It was then discovered that the carpet was not long enough for the family room, but they had enough padding. Error or not, mistakes happen. It is arranged then that they will be back tomorrow between 12-1 to correct. While all of this is going on the stairs and hallway was not completed due to they were busy smoking and will be fixed tomorrow. It was also suggested that I leave my home unlocked so they can "help themselves" tomorrow. Absolutely not, so I rearrange my schedule and take off work again to make it home in time. At 230 still nothing, so i call and speak to the instillation manager who says they are on the way.At this time I also bring up my concerns from the day before and he states "they shouldnt do that," no apology. At 3pm i get another phone call saying he is on second job and will be there in about 30-45 min (although earlier today i was told this second job was cancelled). At 430 there is still no one here, so I call again. The installers were unable to be reached. At 5pm they finally show up. I made a joke about how nice it was that they finally showed up. The carpet installer then proceeded to go off on me for a good five minutes which is totally unacceptable. They then told me that in order to cap my stairs the way i ordered them he would have to remove all of the wood off my steps...never heard of this before, and neither has anyone else So I had to have them waterfall - which ironically is much easier and quicker to do. After all this I called the store again and spoke to salesman and no manager available. The next day at 1pm I was called with response, and not by the manager. There is a huge lack of communication and customer service at this business and i would not reccommend them to anyone!! And the icing on the cake I got to sweep up after all their mess!

Don't come here if you are looking for service of any kind after waiting for over 15 mins for help with the 5 team staff sitting around talking to each other we had to take our business elsewhere.
