Huge store with lots of variety. Candles, Vera Wang purses and accessories, some food items like dips, sauces, candy and honey. Child / infant section with stuffed animals, games & puzzles. Large clearance section of candles at discount prices.

If you need a candle. A real candle. A good smelling, made with local bees wax and a real quality candle that’s been around for the entire history of the town of Medina. This is the place. It’s a beautiful and historic building where they still manufacture the candles on-site. The showroom is full of assorted products, not just candles and is stunningly beautiful. A lot of care is put into the setup of Root Candles to make it very enjoyable for everyone. Even the old safe is utilized into a mini showroom. Seasonal setups offer unique scents based on the time of year. The fall, Halloween and even Christmas are clearly visible, or smellable I should say, at this time of year. I came in early September. The staff is really friendly and offered an explanation of the store for us because we were first timers. There’s a huge clearance section with fantastic deals. There is also a cafe with special hours, call for details. They also have a huge grocery section full of unique foods, honey, sauces and many many other really interesting products. I’m highly impressed and if you ever get to Medina OH, this place should definitely be on your to-do-list.

LOVE this place!! It's been a while since I was able to get down to Medina, but my son and I went last weekend and spent the day, and Root Candles is definitely a stop that you HAVE to make!! My son loved all of the candles and I have to control myself because I want to buy every scent in every size when I'm there!! They have beautiful decorations as well. We plan on going back before the holidays, so I won't be waiting another 20 years to go back! We're looking forward to going back in the fall. The employees were very nice and helpful too. They wrapped my son's hat in tissue paper, but the girl didn't wrap my candle in tissue paper, which I thought was odd, but it was a different lady who waited on me than the one who waited on my son. That lady was A LOT nicer and helpful!!

Large candle store. I smelled every scent. Also has a new hive and plenty of gifts.

Nice stop. Everyone in North East Ohio should stop here at least one time. The candles that I purchased smell good and seemed to burn slower than the store bought candles that I have purchased in the past.

Root Candles is an Amazing Shopping Experience ! The physical structure is historic, cool, spacious and well-organized. The candles are high quality, fragrant and long lasting. The decor pieces offered at Root are high end and high quality. They carry some unique pieces designed to enhance the ambience of your home. The sales staff was awesome to work with - Debbie, the manager, Cathy & Hanna, sales associates, Becca, talented designer & Sandy, in the Cafe. This has become one of my favorite candle/home decor shopping destinations - be sure to go on a day when you have time to fully explore all they have.

We enjoyed this store very much. They offer beautiful American-made candles, decor, and gift items, and are a Vera Bradley retailer as well. The prices on some items seemed a bit steep if, I'm being honest. I do understand that quality comes at a price, but I got sticker shock from a few things I picked up. I had read about the store online and was expecting a small gift shop, and the factory seconds/out of season section that I had read about online, and was surprised at how large the retail area actually is. I learned later that there was an entire upstairs that I managed to miss, and we were shopping for over an hour. The factory seconds area was very small and had very little to offer. I'm not sure if this is due to being cleared out during the winter holidays, or the production problems that a lot of smaller businesses are facing right now, or if the dozen or so varieties in small quantities are what you'd typically find in that section. I did end up buying some candles, some votive holders, and a Vera Bradley item. They have a wide variety of candle scents. Something for everyone. I will definitely be back.

Love this building and company. As soon as you walk in the door you are hit with an amazing aroma from the candles. The colors and scents are wonderful. There is a cafe. It wasn't open when we went but they sell soup and dip mixes. Tons to check out and smell!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this store!! The candles smell WONDERFUL and they're not anymore expensive. You get great quality candles for what you would pay at Walmart for a candle with hardly any scent.

Aside from making really sturdy candles, I can never leave without something beautiful from this place. A must if you visit Medina.

Their Bourbon Pear scent is phenomenal. I have yet to find a better fall scent anywhere!

The holiday displays were stunning! The space is huge and provides an hour or more of retail therapy;) It's a great place to pick up a gift for someone or to treat yourself to a candle, decor item, or gourmet food.

I love visiting this shop. They have the most gorgeous smelling natural beeswax candles and tons of adorable holiday decorations. The live bee display is a real favorite as my family are really into bees. It is safely behind glass for anyone who might be concerned about live bees buzzing about. They often have really good sales as well. Worth a visit if you're looking for holiday decorations, trinkets or stocking stuffers. Plus some really interesting sauces and spreads in the back section.
