My grandmother (Valerie Ford) passed away on September 13, 2024. It was a very hard time and we live in Texas so of course this was all new for us and she was sent to a funeral home there then had to be transferred to another one. We had to pay about 6000 dollars between those two funeral homes up front and when we viewed her there she was in a garage. Then we had to figure out how she was gonna be transferred to Illinois and I brought up schilling funeral homes, my mom gave them a call and they accepted my grandma. When we arrived to schilling, John was amazing. John didn’t care if he got the payment up front, he pretty much did a loan payment plan with us which was great because we didn’t have another 5000 up front. He even set up my grandma in her casket and let us view her properly and it was a better experience. John also gave us a pastor preference and asked us all the questions needed and answered all of the questions we had. Amazing funeral home just amazing. We appreciate John and Schilling funeral home for caring for our family and taking care of my grandma. ❤

When you lose a loved one it is already a hard time. Our loved one was out of state coming back to sterling. The schilling team was amazing and helpful. My grandma passed on September 13th and we live out of state but are originally from IL and needed to get my grandma back home to be buried next to my grandpa....John made sure that all things were taken care of from Texas funeral home all the way back to IL even letting us view her before the funeral. One of the hardest things we have to face is making funeral arrangements for a loved one as the process is not easy nor is it fun but schillings funeral home is the best. I highly recommend them to any family going through this. We did an out of state transfer for my mom back to ILLINOIS to be buried next to my dad, John was amazing, so caring and compassionate the whole time and kept the communication going no matter what time of day it was. He made sure my mom got taken care of as well as my family and I from Texas all the way to ILLINOIS, from day 1 all the way to the funeral. He answered all the questions we had. I just wanted to say thanks to the Schillings (John) for everything he is doing for my Dad and working trying to help me with costs since my father didn't leave any life insurance or anything, and im on Disability. Mr. Schilling was so kind and compassionate when we lost our aunt. We were not from the area and didn’t know who to turn to, but they worked with us and turned a bad situation into a solution that worked for our family. If you’re in the area, they should be your first call.

Schilling funeral home was wonderful. They are all kind, caring, patient and compassionate. Schilling Funeral Homes is a place I highly recommend. When my grandson passed away, they handled everything as if it were their own family member. From picking baby Adam up at the hospital and wrapping him in soft blankets, to helping us organize the funeral that would best honor him and then helping my daughter create thank you notes at the end. Not only that, they grieved with us and blessed us with their services at no charge. John Paul and Mary were amazing to work with, available to us no matter what time we called, caring, compassionate and simply a class act.
