I've been at this location several times. It is my favorite place to go fishing. The area is very clean and I really appreciate having the police checks.

Amazing bout ride and wonderful staff. Watching the feeding of the manatees and Lu the Hippo was very cool.

Wonderful place. Great birding spot. Water level has risen considerably in some of the ponds. We've observed matted Osprey pair sitting on nest, and a pair of Bald Eagles.
Black-bellied Whistling Ducks were also present as well as many other bird species. Yes, there were alligators as well, big and small.
If you appreciate nature, this is a great place to visit.

LOVE this place, but do NOT like being accused of thievery due to trying to salvage abandoned property left in the river. Also hate that I have to CLEAN bathroom/shower before using, but THAT is due to people mistreating property & being plain old nasty! The bath-house could use a fulltime employee willing to go behind noncaring individuals to CLEAN. (Not gonna happen, but when people won't even turn a light off when they leave a bathroom, you know they're not gonna flush half the time. Gross! Maybe state could install auto flush?)

What a beautiful treasure! We came down on a week long hog hunt and fell in love. The people are also what makes this place so amazing. I'd move here if able.

Awesome place to visit if you love swamps but don't walk your dog near the water. Alligators aren't very friendly.

A place you can get away from civilization. Just take survival gear and GPS and a backup compass. 20 years ago the back areas were well managed by David Edwards the newer managers don't go far from truck to control burn. Thus the ridges in the buffalo swamp are getting to thick the pine beatles and hurricanes have ruined some of the pristine areas. Sad..And I go camping annually and noticed on Lewis side and Cathead side the more accessible camping areas are trashed with beer cans burn it or take it with you don't litter...

Love it here it is very quiet and peaceful except during dove hunting season. The fishing area is separated from the hunting area by gates so there are no accidental crossing of the two

I go often. Great bird and gator watching. A kayak can help make trip even better, but go with someone who knows there way around.

I’m a ex hunter of all season animals but as I’ve aged my heart gotten softer never want anything living to ever indulge any pain in time there will be no hunting & that’s a lot of my life I love for the world “Peace”
