Serendipity Books

Such a cute and welcoming small town bookstore! They have monthly book discussions, wine tastings, and other fun events! I have been to several and they are always so fun. Thanks for offering early morning pick up and breakfast to go for Iron Flame on release day!

I was having a difficult time finding a book for my wife's birthday. The person working took the time to help me find the perfect book and on top of it she offered to gift wrap the book. My wife loved the choice. I will definitely be coming back!

I had a delightful experience browsing the shop while I was in town. A surprisingly robust selection of genres, books, and authors for a small shop. A welcoming and warm environment. The perfect place to spend a rainy and gross day. And my daughter loved the book I brought home for her from my trip. If I lived nearby I’d certainly be a regular.

I loved going back there. I'll return again later with more time to savor the offerings. Independent bookstores are the life's blood of our cultures spiritual/,intellectual development.

I just love this bookstore! The space is inviting, cozy and beautiful, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. They have a great inventory of books, and when I can't find something on the shelves, an order is easily paced and arrives within days. The owner, Michelle, is a delight and I always feel welcome to discuss a book or ask a question. They also host special events and book readings, as well as a book club that's become my favorite monthly evening activity! I've really enjoyed this in-community experience. Whether you live in the area, or are just visiting Chelsea, you should stop by Serendipity!

This bookstore is charming, well-curated, and a great addition to Chelsea. The overall vibe of the store felt relaxed, cozy, and welcoming, with a great selection of titles in each section. The staff was helpful and it's clear that a lot of care is put into the store and the relationships built with its customers. I would love to come back to Serendipity the next time I find myself in Chelsea and would happily pick up more books to add to my collection.

My niece and I wandered into this cute bookstore yesterday while we were in Chelsea and I loved it. It was small but very well curated. All of the fiction and nonfiction bestsellers were there but they also had a section by Michigan authors, they had medicinal herb books and cut flower books and philosophy books and graphic novels and children’s’ books. The bookseller was really nice and super helpful. I’ll be in again the next time I go to Chelsea.

I absolutely love this book store! I love that they have both new and used books. They are so inclusive and have a great assortment of books both popular and lesser known titles. The staff are knowledgeable and so great to chat with. Highly recommend!

This is my favorite type of bookstore! A mix of used and new books; many staff picks and synopses tucked throughout the shop; friendly and helpful workers. I left with an assortment of books… literary fiction for myself, an early reader book for my niece’s birthday, and a few used kids books for my own children. Can’t wait to visit again!

This book store it so cute, Sue was the person who helped me and she was the sweetest person I have ever met. Even if you don’t like books you should still check it out at least once it’s adorable

This is a great little book store. They always have a good variety of books for adults and children. They offer both new and used books. They also will gift wrap your purchases with beautiful wrapping paper. The staff have always been friendly and helpful.

I stumbled across Serendipity a few years ago and it re-ignited my love for reading. It’s everything you dream of in a local bookstore: comfy cozy vibe, knowledgeable staff, and lovely store dog named Otis.

One of my favorite part of the bookstore is the variety of genres. There’s memoirs, history books, romance, thrillers, cook books. They even have a selection of staff picks with hand written notes telling you why they love them.

They’re also very involved with the community both online and in person. They have book clubs, author showcases with the authors themselves, and community events. They also have Instagram and Tik Tok that keep you updated on all the happenings at Serendipity.
They even take book donations meaning that you can spread your love of books with the community too!

I’m truely so happy that I found Serendipity. My heart and bookshelves are so full with love and literature. Thank you Serendipity for doing what you do!

Amazing atmosphere, friendly staff, and great book selection! Also if you’re looking for a book in particular that they don’t have in stock, they order it for you. Such a staple downtown, couldn’t recommend a bookstore more.

My husband & I love independent bookstores and were very happy with our first visit to Serendipity! Of course we purchased a few books! We'll be returning!

The best little bookstore I’ve ever been to. It’s cozy, and the owner, Michelle, knows more about books than any person I’ve ever met. She gives excellent recommendations. She hosts a reading group once a month, where there is always interesting conversation, snacks, and wine. Absolutely my favorite place in Chelsea.

Every time I go here I feel so welcomed. The owner is fantastic and always super nice and willing to help you with anything. The other staff I’ve met have also been super willing to help. When they didn’t have an author or book I was looking for they would tell me about others to try and help out. I called to see if they had a book in a series I’m reading and they put it on hold for me so I could finish the book I was currently on. I go here over Barnes and Noble anytime.

Great book store. They have a little of everything and have always been able to order what I needed if they didn't have it on hand. And they always have the best recommendations if you're not sure what to get next.

What a cute and cozy bookstore. A perfect touch of old world charm and lots of books to browse. I loved the pre- loved books sprinkled in with new.

It's a cute store with a variety of new and mostly used books. The woman there was very helpful to me when trying to find a couple books based on some vague interests. I would certainly go here again if I was looking to find something new (to me.)
