Maywood Evangelical Free Church

Went here for the 10:15 Easter service. First time attending. There is ample parking. The worship team had a variety of instruments, including a violin. Top notch music. The congregation is diverse in age and nationality. The sermon was projected in English and Spanish. My wife liked the bulletin insert which is used as a fill in the blank during the sermon. The message was straightforward. Welcoming people.

I serve as the Lead Pastor and I have been on staff going on 19 years. I am blessed to serve with five other pastors of Godly character and integrity. We are pursuing our vision of "Becoming a People to Reach People for Christ." This means we will remain Biblically Rooted, Driven by the Gospel, for the Glory of God! I've been going here for over 5 years, probably closer to 10. We think of ourselves as not just Christians, but Christ Followers.

There are 2 church services. The sermon is the same for both. The first service has traditional music and the second service is more contemporary.

Church service and most Sunday bible classes are on one floor. On the shorter side of the building is valet parking. The picture in this post is the valet door on Palm Sunday.

We have a good healthy age range. They have nurseries for infants and toddlers that is by the main lobby. All children Elementary School age and younger are signed in and out at dusk and the both the parent and a child get a sticker. Only the person with the matching sticker can get the child at the end of service. I think this is a good safety precaution.

The congregation is about 80% - 90% white.
I think that has more to do with the location then acceptance. Last year the pastors were only 60% white.

Maywood has an app that's has announcements, a copy of the newsletter, sermon notes, videos of sermons and other things that I don't remember right now.

They are for your children learning the word of God, they are our future! Great people, great church!

Very caring and welcoming community. Wonderful pastors and many programs and activities for people of all ages! You will definitely grow in your faith at this gospel preaching church!

I have seen God at work at Maywood in that the staff and other leaders have grown in their roles and have worked together very well. (I am not on the staff) When Scott said the Lord lead him to write and do prayer walks I believe it. I also believe that same Lord is among us now.

I think that Scott would shudder to think that he made "Maywood what it is today" as a previous reviewer suggested.

One thing Scott personally taught me about ministry, is an attitude he passed on the me, "Maywood is God's church".

Please come see us at one of the adult, or one of the many children's, Sunday school classes. This is a church that loves to learn, do and teach the Word of God.

I love this church been in the children's ministry since I was a child but now going to church her now at my old age I just love this church

Your choir did a beautiful job with the National Anthem at the Ice Hogs game

I just go to the college group here, but it's pretty great. The people are very welcoming, the building is clean, and very extensive. Watch out for speed bumps.

It's a very nice church to attend good staff and pastors as well
