Prophetstown State Recreation Area

Enjoyed our morning coffee watching the lazy river flow by. Absolutely beautiful campground with well maintained sites. All the sites are open to each other, but respectfully spaced. Great for group camping. Restroom/shower was immaculate & cheery. Hiking trails.
Leashed pets ok with owner responsible clean up expected. Very reasonable rates.

Went to fish for a bit, saw several fish but didn't hook anything.
Found some fossils from 500 million years ago when illinois was covered by a shallow tropical sea

Very nice camp grounds. Enjoyed our stay. The knats and mosquitoes were really bad, but that has nothing to do with the campsite.

I love my home town park. So many trees, so much shade. Great playground for kids. Nice bathrooms and showers.

Nice state park. Boat ramp, fishing, playground, picnic areas, camping,etc

Really nice river access. The park had lots of picnic spots and a decent playground. It wasn't too busy though there were other people enjoying the outdoors. Will return to fish in the future.

Serena n Dave were great hosts. Very friendly town. Bruce, the police chief was helpful providing directions to camp.

Always have a good time when we go there for fireworks. Probably the best and longest display in the area. A nice little park for the kids to play at while you wait for the show and refreshments brought to you by the boy scouts. Or scouts. Whatever we're calling them now.

A safe definitely socially distanced place for a light afternoon picnic.
Definitely park staff AND county law enforcement patrolled.
Clean, enjoyable & reasonably quiet.

Very peaceful. Clean. Not crowded during the week. Electricity, showers and flush toilets available. We just started coming this year, and have been back 3 times already.

Prophetstown is a nice friendly town

We stopped by on our way out of town after visiting my Dad. The park is just like I remembered. Very clean and well taken care of.

Great area for the family to visit...lots to do...picnicking, fishing, birding, etc.

My go to place for a drive with our puppy, Teddy..beautiful camping area located on the mighty Rock River.

Great place to go fish. Needs cleaning up but really peaceful and great place to picnic and have a family day.

It was so nice to see the lights of Christmas and enjoy in car and listen the music. More safe than covid-19!!!

Prophetstown State Park is a great place for camping, fishing, family fun. I always have a great time camping with family, friends.
