Spider Sushi Bar

Chill place in a strip mall. Very good food and waitress Azul was awesome. I had the Panko Tuna. Yum. Everything is good and I love the chill vibe of the place. My meal was $20 with tax before tip.

Just as good as the original location! Sushi nailed out of the ballpark with freshness, flavor, quality, quantity and price. Casual to great place for a date. Intimate due to being a bit smaller than the original. Photos is matrix, scorpion, and wonder women (in that order from outside to middle). Mai Tai super delicious, and other beverages available (alcohol and not).

Update 2/2024: over time and multiple visits any number of things can change. I'm so excited to share that the consistency of food, service, and atmosphere stays a 5. The only complaint... the mixed drinks. The rum iced tea not good at all. The mai tai was okay, a 2 or 3. But the did makes up for it. Maybe next sake. Oh, and get the power shot!!! Different at first but yum.

Unfortunately every sushi place I go to gets compared to my favorite. However if you live in Rockford it is a place to try. They have 2 locations that I know of. The service was very good; the waitress was helpful and accommodating.

Servers are always so nice, nothing but smiles and positive vibes. Chicken teriyaki is amazing!! We have tried a bunch of different sushi rolls, favorite is the spicy spider! Has a nice kick at the end. Favorite spot for sure!

Loved it! For the first time, I had fully fried sushi, and I have to say it was perfect! Take a risk with food. U might not be disappointed!

I said I didn't like sushi. My girlfriend said maybe you just haven't had good sushi. We went to Spider Sushi. She was right. Great food, great menu, and good prices. Miso Soup is awesome. This place opened me up to Sushi and offers a comfortable environment to enjoy the food. I highly recommend trying it out!

Love this place. We were seated immediately upon walking in, even though it was busy. Our server was attentive, kind, and helpful. The food was, as always, amazing. Two appetizers, two sushi rolls, and two entrees, plus drinks, for less than $100. Highly recommend.

Its just a really nice place for the cost. I've been coming to spider for years, they don't disappoint.

My wife and I gladly drive 50 minutes each way for the sushi perfection at Spider. The food and the service are equally phenomenal! Our favorites are the Surf and Turf, Hawaiian and Crunchy rolls. Paired with edamame and a side of fried rice and you’re in for the noms!

Food was excellent, service was good. Had crab Rangoon, shrimp yakisoba, and the Rockford sushi roll.

First time going for our date night, and everything was delicious, our waitress check in on us more than us and re filled our drinks.

Really nice place, great sushi. We had to wait a bit for one of our rolls but it was busy and we understood. Really attentive servers.

We are very excited to have this new sushi location! We've heard Spider Sushi was great, but rarely are near the first location. Now we've tried it for ourselves at this new location, and it's amazing!

This first time we ordered from the sushi roll menu and Crab Rangoon. Their Crab Rangoon is full of so much crab! We look forward to going back.

The Catwoman roll is insane good. Portions are generous and you can get full off just one roll. Place is small and kind of hidden away but well worth a trip. Very impressed and I'm totes picky when it comes to sushi.

Though the restaurant has a little sign near the entrance stating they are understaffed and asking patience, we were quickly seated and fairly quickly served, despite the restaurant being pretty full. The rolls were large and flavorful, and the seaweed salad was a nice light refreshing appetizer!

Our waitress was so so kind! Amazing service and great food. Can't wait to come back!

Haven't been here for a while/But it didn't matter everything was still delish!!!! Love the Power shots with ther quail eggs, ponzu, and Saki!! Just Bento boxes and Saki today! My wife loves the Salmon but I prefer the Eel!

Big sushi fan! I finally convinced my mother to go out for dinner and I ordered enough for 3-4 people… Love this place and highly recommend it!

The food here is always incredible. We come here pretty often. Especially, before the pandemic. We love the sushi rules, the yakisoba, and the bento boxes.

Update: I am updating this review in February 2024 to make clear that this location is WAY better than the Spider Sushi on Alpine. The food and service at this restaurant is far superior. This is the OG Spider Sushi. Love it.

Great spot to stop in and get sushi and a cold beer. Great appetizers!
