Shinleaf Group Campsites

Great camp area. Be sure to look at their online maps and pick a camp spot at the ends of the "branches" where you will likely have more space and privacy. Hike on the Mountain to Sea trail that cuts through Shinleaf (just before the loop parking lot) or hike down to the end of the Shinleaf campsite area. It is a total of 2.8 miles to do the entire, wide path trail down the middle of the Shinleaf campsites to a narrow point of Falls Lake. This path is super easy.

Very nice and quiet, we camped here for 2 nights. Bathrooms were clean and trails were great.

Very nice primitive camping area for groups. Enough space for 11 tents and plenty trees for hammocks.

We had a blast enjoying labor day weekend beside the Neuse River.
There are restrooms at walking distance from the camp site, and bathhouse at the entry. Bring hand soap as sometimes it runs out.

The walk in campsites here are awesome! They are well spaced apart so you have your own area, fire ring with grill, picnic table and lantern hook are available on each site. The main bath house and the small, composting out house close to our site were extremely clean and well maintained. No electric available. Really beautiful spot for a few nights of camping--will be back!

Amazing campsite! Most all of the campsites have water access... Very clean, very friendly and helpful rangers. We had a great time and couldn't have asked for a better location. Highly recommend this place, and we will be back this spring with a lot more friends. Very close to Raleigh!

Nice camping area with fire pit, benches, and access to Falls Lake. Great hiking trails nearby, and a good spot to relax. Vehicles can be parked next to campsites for convenience

Campground and bath facilities were clean and well maintained. The campsites feel secluded as each site is set back in the woods with lots of tree coverage.

Go here annually. Always enjoy a clean campsite and restrooms. Shaded sites, so even when the temps are high, it's nice.

Our favorite place to camp around here. Bathrooms are convenient, sites are spaced out with grills! Make sure to lock your cars in the parking lot.

Excellent group camp sites. The Overlook site has room for lots of tents (we had about 45 people), right next to the canoe put in. Not the best beach for motor boats, but we made it work.

Nice big camping areas with access to the lake. Group areas are furnished with very nice big grills.
