Dr. G: Dr Marcus Giffin is the beat in sound Kihei. If you are looking for a great understanding internal physician, Dr. G is the Best I have been his patient since 2003, and he has never let me down. Even when off island he has helped me and my husband to content with other MDVIP physician and been there for use both during hard times. Dr. Griffin has truly been there for us! Also, his great nurse assistance Carmen!

Excellent physician and staff. Dr. Griffin and his staff, Carmen and Lisa, have gone above and beyond to help me and my husband through some very difficult times. They are so compassionate, warm and caring - all qualities you want in your physician and staff.

I worked with Dr. Griffin at the local hospital as a nurse before I retired. So I knew his skills and talents. After my retirement and learning that Dr. Griffin entered MDVIP, I was pleased to become his MDVIP patient. He is complete, courteous and knowledgable. I have recommended friends to his MDVIP service. If my children were living here, I would certainly enroll them with Dr. Griffin.

Ironically, we've never met Dr. Griffin in person...only consulted via phone from Hana. He is our sister/sister-in-law's MDVIP doctor. She has severe dementia and resides in a facility in Kahului. Dr. Griffin makes "home" visits there, and has helped to keep her healthy and content/smiling by adjusting her diet and medications in consort with us and the staff at her residence. Having him as her doc gives us great peace of mind. Highly recommend.

We are so happy to have found Dr. Griffin to take care of our brother. Dr. Griffin is intelligent, compassionate and so easy to get a hold of. Rare here on Maui where there is a shortage of medical personnel.

Dr Griffin is an extremely rare care provider in our current, quickly evolving (in not such a good direction) US medical system of care delivery. I so value a provider that actually sits down and talks with me for a significant chunk of time; someone who knows and cares about my detailed medical history.

Dr. Griffin is a wonderful doctor. I trust him completely with our family’s medical needs. His staff is also excellent at assisting him competently and with aloha.

We moved from the D.C. area to South Maui in April, 2005 with my retirement from the National Football League Players Association (AFL-CIO).It was a long day’s series of flights—the end of which included a stop in Honolulu and the animal control office for our two cats who traveled with us.
We were tired.
And, both of us were coughing and had throat irritations by the time we were settled in our home.
Those conditions didn’t improve those first days here; indeed, they worsened—which was a major worry since we had no idea of any healthcare providers here.
Luckily though, our realtor—who was both a friend and one of the very few folks we knew here—was fortunate in being able to contact her physician and make an appointment right away. I emphasize that was not an easy undertaking because the Kihei Wailea Medical Clinic and Dr. Marcus Griffin in many ways wasn’t taking many—if any—new patients.
Fortunate also because both of us has contracted bronchitis—an illness neither had ever had before.
And it took a number of visits and types of treatment to resolve it.
So that’s how we met Marcus Griffin and his wonderful staff. (There is one problem though; he is a dedicated Ohio State fanatic, while our daughter graduated from Michigan!! Go Blue!!)
Despite that—after all he went to Cincinnati, not OSU—we remain friends and devoted fans of his services.

The only reason that I participate in MDVIP is to retain my excellent, long term physician.

Sells you on the fact that he is "your doctor" very well, agreeing to meet all requirements set forth, to get you to subscribe. When your job involves traveling the country, saving lives and restoring power to those who depend on it to live, he says his staff is too overstretched. Refuses to call an out of state pharmacy and actually get a prescription correct. I requested a refill, go to the pharmacy, pharmacist says the doctor needs to call. Message the doctor to call, doctor says all is well, go back to pharmacist, pharmacist states they still have not called it in properly. Call doctor, doctor says maybe he isnt allowed to prescribe out of state, go back to pharmacist. Pharmacist calls doctor and states exactly how to do his job, finally get cholesterol and maintenance medications. Rinse and repeat for every single refill, every single area, every single month.
