Bushplanes are so cool! This is a must see museum if you are in the area. The 20 minute movie in the back theater on firefighting with bushplanes was fabulous (included)! There also is an insectarium with weird bugs and cute lizards.

Loved it. So much history that is not available anywhere else. Great value for the small admission fee. Bonus insectarium where friendly knowledgeable staff let you hold rare creatures. We got to see float plane land. The place is on the water and bicycle paths.
Definite must see in SSM

I've been here twice, and loved it both times. They have a lovely collection of both common and rare planes that helped shape Canada. There is a very informative section on Forest Firefighting. The section is complemented by a number of aircraft used in those rolls. Early airlines also feature heavily at the museum. Both with artifacts and a number of aircraft. Another good section is early radios in Canada. They have a large number of scale models. The models are a little dated but well maintained and represent a large range of aircraft. The Museum also shares the space with an Entomology group called Entomica Insectarium. It's only a couple of dollars more but it is worth it to see some rare and unique critters. These critters included insects, frogs, tortoises/turtles, salt water and fresh water fish, lizards, and birds. Also located here is a trading area for fossils, insects feathers and the like. You bring stuff you've found and trade it with stuff in the museum collection. I highly recommend it if you are visiting Sault Ste Marie.

Fantastic morning activity with kids (we could have stayed all day). Don't miss the movies (there are 2). Kids got to climb in planes and then hold tons of bugs in the insects section.

Excellent small museum featuring a unique collection of Bush Planes that you can walk right into, even up to the cockpit. Good history, and great activities inside for the kids!

What a history to learn about from historic airmen and women who flew in this lush and rich country. Plenty of stories and adventures of both transportation and rescues to firefighting. Great place to visit to the aviation enthusiast.

Participated in a great event here. The staff was friendly, the facilities were clean and spacious. The amount of planes they have managed to get into this area is impressive. A great team of workers and volunteers do such a great job of making this an engaging and interesting stop while in Sault ste Marie

Stumbled upon this place while driving through town. The displays are very well presented with many accessible aircraft.
There are interactive things for kids to do as well. I’ve visited many aviation museums and this is one of the best I’ve visited.

Very interesting looking back in time at the early
Float planes. You can climb into some but watch your head. Then there is a very interesting movie about fighting forest fires. The aerial shots of the large forest fires is something else.

Very cool first thing was coming in the front accessible doors and they even can provide you with a Scooter but I already had mine . Than they talk to you about the museum tell you about the App then you carry on your way and check out all the great exhibits . Definitely check out inside of some of the planes they have screen to watch a video of the area . And the bush fire video that we didn't get to see (my bad ) lol .
But it's cool cause now we have to go back and check that out . The staff are very helpful and polite the gift shop is amazing .

It was a pleasant surprise to find this museum located downtown just a block from the Sleep Inn. My 15 year old son and I had a great time touring around the numerous planes, watching informative videoes on most and catching one of the two movies shown. Don't forget to seek out and maybe have the opportunity to have Willie Wonka climb up your arm in the Insectarium.

My son and I had a great time here. It was our first time. We both love airplanes. The firefighting displays in particular are very engaging. I’d spend easy 2-3 hours here when it’s not busy and plan for 3-4 for when it’s.

Nice little museum with old heritage De Havilland aircrafts like Otter, Beaver and other small airplanes. Water Bomber was the most exciting plane out of all. Kids had a lot of fun checking out the airplanes. You could hop onto some of the planes and check out the cockpit cabin so that was really exciting for kids. There was also a short 3D movie on the water bomber which kids really liked. There were simulator games for kids to fly the planes on screen. Overall it was a great experience!CL
