This lovely establishment has made my day knowing I have a delicious meal to come to in town if I'm ever craving or if I simply don't want to cook. I'll be returning to get more of their savory tacos and and sweet elote. The woman working there was very kind and has a welcoming smile so please be nice as she will get you taken care of. Great choice if you're craving sweets as well great selection at great prices.

Very friendly owners and staff! Great food and great hospitality. Natural homemade ice cream, nothing artificial. Had to take some to go! Tried 5 kinds of tacos, no disappointment whatsoever. Quesabirria was delicious and so was everything else. Plenty of parking and clean restroom. Will go back anytime I’m in the area and would recommend to anyone who hasn’t tried it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fantastic tacos and tamales. The staff were all very friendly. We got our order to good, and it wasn't a long wait. Our food was fantastic. I really liked their Mexican chorizo tacos. The pork and chicken tamales were really good. Their salsa is very tasty as well. Five this place a go you will be happy!

The food here is top notch. One of the best authentic Mexican restaurants around. The quesabirrias and shrimp tacos are amazing, pair them with a jarritos and you won’t be disappointed!

Staff is very nice, and restaurant is clean and nice looking.

Friendly staff, a variety of unique ice cream flavors, and always-delicious food, Monarca's is a great place for Mexican food and ice cream. I love that they have different ice cream flavors from what you'd find in most American ice cream shops; it's a fun experience trying something new. As for food, you can get both Mexican-style and American-style versions of their dishes, and they have a menu that gives detailed descriptions for people less familiar with Mexican dishes. They always have very nice vegetarian options, too. Try the horchata if you're looking for a slightly sweet drink to accompany your meal.

I have been excited to eat here. If your hungry and in Schoolcraft I recommend this place!

I had the Mexican style taco combo which is three corn shell taco in chicken, steak. I got the steak, it came with rice and beans. The onion and herbs were fresh and tasty,, the steak was tender and juicy.

My girlfriend got the chicken bureto. Both were amazing! They give to options of Mexican and American style and do great at both.

Thanks for an amazing meal we will be back.

Great food! I have never had the ice cream but it looks amazing.
They were a bit busier today with a large order during lunch and still did a great job. I have ate here at least a dozen times and it's always great. I love the steak tacos, pastor tacos, and chips and salsa.

Monarca’s has some of the best birria in Kalamazoo! Food was tasty, service was great, prices were very fair, and the food came quick. These birria tacos were great because they still had a bit of crunch on the outside, without it being overly soft and mushy like some places. The owner was very nice as well, and even let me try their homemade ice cream. The guava and coconut flavors were great! Make sure to support your local small businesses, and give this place a try!

There were 3 tacos but I snarfed one before I remembered to take a photo. Wonderful traditional tacos-we had al pastor, cameroñes, and vegetable (me) or steak chorizo (him). Loved the salsa verde and house salsa also. Very flavorful (not spicy-ask if that is your preference). An all around excellent dinner.

Excellent ice cream! The lady behind the counter was very patient and friendly and generous with samples and suggested the perfect combinations of flavors which for me was coconut and mango. For my husband it was guava and vanilla. Their ice cream is all homemade and you can taste the quality. It’s not overly sweet like American ice cream. Their prices are great: two generous scoops for $6! (Summer 2023). Next time we’ll also try the tacos which smelled amazing! An easy five stars!

Fabulous family owned restaurant. Superb food with generous portions served by very friendly people. We recommend the fajita. Their many unique flavors of homemade ice cream is also delicious.

Absolutely great street tacos. Best were the shrimp and the al pastor with a good splash of lime and salsa verde. We stopped in here for a quick break on the way to family up the road and loved the atmosphere and family. Tacos were delightfully flavorful and not too spicy (note if you like hotter you might mention when you order). We didn’t get to ice cream but maybe next past. Thanks for the tasty food and for visiting with us.

Ordered takeout about a week and a half ago with my husband and we absolutely loved it! I had a few different Mexican style tacos (highly recommend the birria! Grateful to the staff for their recommendation on it), my husband loved his steak burrito. The street corn in a cup was very good as well! Definitely intend to come back soon and try some more of their exciting menu and ice cream!
