Keawakapu Beach

Favorite beach on ALL of Maui. Great beach for swimming, snorkeling, walking and tide pools. Great place to go when the wind kicks up… you can head up into the grass in front of the Mana Kai and the building will block the wind. Love this beach!

Keawakapu is a great beach that isn’t lacking much. Typically fairly calm so great for swimming and even has some good places for snorkeling. It is also a rather large beach so if you don’t mind walking a few minutes, you can find your own section of sand and water to relax without listening to other people and rarely run into others swimming unless you are snorkeling but even then, it’s not listed as a top rated spot so it doesn’t draw the crowds others do. However, if you are showing up in the later morning/afternoon and don’t spend your time in the water, bring an umbrella to escape the sun since it has no shade otherwise.

Beautiful beach for a two mile walk, to the end and back. I suggest early morning or sunset. Small parking lot next to Days Inn. Keawakapu Beach.

Beach is beautiful and not overcrowded. The water isn't too rough but it gets deep quickly. Sunset was nice but the sun dips behind another island just on the horizon as it sets. This doesn't spoil the sunset though and I plan to watch it from here again.

Beautiful beach location. We spend the whole day here swimming and snorkeling. The coral here is very pretty and plenty. We saw two turtles while snorkeling. Only negative thing about this beach is no public restroom. There is a fresh water wash though.

So the actual park was closed the day we visited. We still managed to go to the beach next to it. Very beautiful. Awesome sand

Bring an umbrella if you have one. Most Airbnbs provide a couple.

The water had the perfect temperature and there were a lot of people snorkeling and scuba diving

The perfect view of the setting sun! This beach is a lesser-known spot, so generally fewer folk. Super fine sand at the beach, with a few rocky parts.

This is our favourite beach to go to for boogie boarding, Building sand castles and just floating in the ocean. There is a close parking lot, showers and is normally very quiet and not at all busy.

Clear water with great visibility. Snorkeling out past the break offers opportunities to see variety of sea life, including a sea turtle. Shower available for rinsing off after a cool swim in the ocean.

MOONSET @ SUNRISE. This beach has it all. Fun, beauty and my sanctuary. THERE ARE 3 ENTRANCES. For quiet go to left at 2nd entrance a. k. a. Sidewalks. Park in lot at corner Kilohana Rd & S. Kihei. I'm a 30 YR KIHEI RESIDENT & my FAVORITE beach. That should speak volumes. Look close at the moon shine in water and you'll see the sailboat. From every angle of those pics the boat appears in the moonshine. The awesome frizbee dog in the surf is my beloved BFF Zoe R. I. P. my lovey girl. We rescued each other. My heart aches for you everyday and I can't remember me without you.

Beautiful beach at the south end of Kihei before you reach Wailea. There is a nice parking lot that they have just redone and it is easy to access the beach through the public access between 2 hotels/resorts. Make sure to bring your own towel and gear since there are no stands or bars/restaurants on this beach. Wide sandy beach with very soft sand and it is very long so you can generally find a fairly private, uncrowded stretch. Water is very clear here. Very lovely beach.

Really nice beach, great for long walks. Lots of places that look good for swimming, especially the end where the Mana Kai and Hale Hui Kai Condos are situated.

This is our absolutely our favorite beach! I would say that it’s perfect. It has soft sand and snorkeling that’s better in the morning. We’ve seen turtles there several times swimming between the rocky outcrops. There’s not a lot of rocks or coral so it’s great for swimming. The afternoon currents might not be suitable for kids under 5 but our grade school aged kid loves playing in the waves. There are showers and there’s a deli at the nearby resort. The sunsets are spectacular so you could pull up a beach chair & towel and spend all day here.

A wonderfully quiet beach with easy access. We love the walking path you can take. Dogs love it here too!

Great beach! Plenty of space to lounge by the water and paddle board. The snorkeling is also great here. There’s also a tide pool area. What a fantastic place to see sea turtles as well, both days we came I saw a few.

Nice sandy beach! Good for swim, relax and play balls. Small beach parking.

Fantastic beach, great snorkeling here, saw lots of turtles and every type of fish off the beach. Not too crowded, but you need to go early to get a decent spot. Sand is beautiful, easy to get in .

My favorite beach. Waves are good enough for kids and beginner bodyboarders. Please don't come here. I don't want it to get crowded.

Beautiful secret beach with several miles of great walking and photo ops. Small parking lot so get there early.
