Bartenders were great, we came in about 30 minutes before closing after our flight we were starving. They didn't get irritated at all, we ate fast and got out of there. The food was outstanding, highly recommend! And bonus, if the baseball team wins, you get a fantastic fireworks show!!!

The environment, including its lighting could bring you to relaxing mode after long hectic days. The food was really deliciously and roasted chicken served with big portion. Soup of the days was marvellous, unlike normal mushroom soup outside. Service by the crew was friendly, with smile which you leaving best memories while having dine here.

Yesterday (Thursday, May 30, 2024) I returned--yet again--to dine at J. Alexander's Restaurant for an early lunch.

Madison was our waitress and she did a "FANTASTIC" job. Everything was just absolutely wonderful: ... the atmosphere, the presentation, the food, the staff, their attentiveness, etc.

I ordered the Barbecue Baby Back Ribs (one of my favorites), with a salad, French fries, the orzo rice, and the carrot cake for dessert. "AWESOME!" "PERFECTION!!!"

Another example of "TOTAL EXCELLENCE" from the entire team at J. Alexander's Restaurant in Madison, Alabama.

I was very fortunate to be treated to a late lunch at J. Alexander's (one of my very favorite restaurants) on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, for a special occasion. Jace was my waiter, and he did a "STELLAR" job --- as usual!

The food was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL--- as usual! No---on second thought---in my experience, it's usually wonderful. But, this time it was actually EVEN BETTER than it's normal "WONDERFUL!"

I ordered the pork chop, which was DIVINE ... super-thick, but tender, thoroughly cooked, and well seasoned, with a wonderfully delicious glaze.

And, one of my guests ordered the ribs, which I considered ordering. She allowed me to taste hers, and, of course, it was HEAVENLY/DIVINE as well---melt in your mouth!

(I also ordered New England clam chowder, a salad, the orzo rice, and mashed potatoes --- all great.)

My party of three ALL topped off our DELECTABLE meals with the carrot cake, which is another of my favorites, and absolutely THE BEST carrot cake I have ever had anywhere, EVER!!!

The kitchen certainly OUTDID THEMSELVES that day, which I would think would be VERY DIFFICULT for them to do (but, they did, indeed).

"Compliments to the chef," and congratulations on a job well done by J. Alexander's Restaurant in Madison, Alabama (just outside of Huntsville, Alabama).

I do recommend this restaurant! The carrot cake is incredible! I didn't give 5 stars on the food because I have had to return a dish on two occasions, which I almost never do. But they were just fine to correct the situation both times. I still go often. The service is decent, and the atmosphere is definitely a favorite of mine.

I had the aged NY Strip steak and it was fantastic! I followed that up with their Key Lime pie and WOW was it amazing! The service was fast and friendly as well. I really enjoyed the atmosphere inside; it has a warm, cozy, and inviting feel. I would highly recommend!

My fiance and I chose this restaurant for a special occasion. Our parents joined us for an engagement celebration dinner. This was a perfect choice for our special night! The deviled egg appetizers were amazing. The steaks were perfectly cooked and tasty. The burger was very good as well. Our server (Cortez) was EXCELLENT!!! So friendly, helpful, and on-time. Our entire party thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at J. Alexander's.

J. Alexander's is definitely one of the best dinning experiences in Huntsville. The staff is the best in the city. Attentive, polite, expeditious and did I mention always polite. Menu is limited so I recommend whatever the Chef's Special is for the day but the regular menu items are awsome as well. Atmosphere is great for any occasion. Casual dinner and/or drinks at the bar or something more intimate in the private areas to the left and right. One of two places in the city I always recommend to vistors!

It was AMAZING!! Overall, the food was wonderful, the atmosphere was relaxing, and our waiter was awesome. The lasagna was filling, as well as the crab cake and deviled eggs. The bacon had my family guessing what glaze was used because it was delicious lol. Overall 10s across the board….A+++.

Had a fantastic lunch today! The Crab Cakes are the best in the city...real lump crab meat and almost no filling. My husband loves the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich which was delicious. Cortez was very professional and attentive. His smile is contagious and added to the ambiance. The carrot cake is scrumptious. Spoke to the manager Jason and shared how wonderful everything was. It is definitely our favorite restaurant in the Huntsville area.

When we first arrived someone else was helping our server (it was not going well). Our server (Temperan) made it to our table and the experience shifted. She was helpful as she walked us through the menu. The Spinach Queso was amazing. The Steak Maui was cooked to perfection. The Roasted Chicken was seasoned well (make sure to order a vegetable if you get the mashed potatoes and you want leafy greens to round off your meal). The Key Lime Pie was also good (even at home). I would definitely recommend this place.

Among the very best restaurants in Huntsville and region. The food was simply amazing. Our server, Callie, was charming, professional, and exceptionally responsive. We had four adults in our party and all of us were thrilled with the food and service. We will return to try more of this menu.

Ahi Tuna salad is delicious! Usually minimal wait and wonderful ambiance. Recommend for a date night!

An amazing experience, warm and friendly hostess, attentive staff as my wife was asked multiple times if the shades needed to be lowered to block the sun out of her eyes. She told the first two people it was fine, but a couple of mins later, the blind lowered and then a manager came by and told us he lowered it to keep the sun out of her eyes in passing. My wife didn't like the sun being in her eyes like it was while setting but she will not ask for others to do things for her. It was very attentive on the manager who lowered the blinds for her without asking.

Our waitress very friendly and available. I wish I could remember her name.

The shrimp appetizer was absolutely awesome!

My NY strip and mac & cheese was perfect! I asked for my steak to be medium, and it was spot on. This is not your mom's mac & cheese - as us Southerns will say, it will make you slap your momma! :-)

My wife's halibut with a lemon sauce glaze was amazing and a well-cooked couscous side along with broccoli with a hint of lemon zest she enjoyed.

First time at this location. Great food as usual and super friendly waitress! I always get the roasted chicken but on special occasions get the prime rib.

We had a great night at J. Alexander’s. The host was able to get us in sooner than our reservation but until then, we enjoyed a couple drinks at the bar. I had the Midnight Margarita and my wife had a Pino Grigio. The drink were amazing.

As we were waiting, we ordered the meatballs as an appetizer. It’s a little spicy but had a great flavor. It was a nice size appetizer.

When we were taken to our table, we ordered a second round of drinks and enjoyed the environment. It’s a very cozy atmosphere. I ordered the NY Strip with Mac N Cheese and it was perfect.

We had reservations and we were seated promptly. The place was full, people quietly talking, and relaxing as they enjoyed their meals. Our server greeted us almost immediately and had suggestions and recommendations ready. Our meal came quickly and it was delicious. The prime rib was very tender and the ribeye tasty. I also highly recommend the loaded smashed potatoes. J. Alexander's is a great place to go for a celebration or even a just because.

Our server's name was Brantley, and she was amazing. That was the first win. I ordered the special redfish topped with lobster lump crab meat with lemon butter sauce and orzo pasta and a side of broccoli. My husband had a burger with a side of the best mac and cheese we've ever tasted. We will definitely be coming back, and I had a wonderful birthday experience! That fish dish was second to none! Also the appetizer of the smoked salmon was so fresh and tasty! Strongly recommend this place!

I had such a great experience at Alexanders with my daughter! First off, the Seared Ahi Tuna plate here is extremely good. However, what also really impressed me about this place was the level of attention to service. Evidently, when guests are brought to a table, a 5 minute timer starts. If it exeeds that 5 minute limit an alert is sent to the staff immediately to go to your table. Since a good bit more than 5 minutes had surpassed (which didnt seem too long to me), our server as well as the management was very apologetic and was super hospitable and focused on makingsure we were taken care of. Alexanders succeeds where most restaurants in Huntsville and the surrounding region fail. Customer courtesy and accommodation here feels like a VIP experience for a great price. Love the atmosphere and the healthy menu choices as well. Will definitely be a returning customer for sure! I highly recommend this place!

Absolutely delicious! The tuna was the best I've had. The chocolate cake was divine.
