I did a walk in very early in the morning,only waited 30 minutes, between the front desk lady, Luz Viminda and Maria are absolutely amazing providing customer service. I got my out of state transfer and motorcycle endorsement fast, they were motivating me about it since I failed the first time. Very professional and nice environment, as long you bring all the requirements documents they will be able to help you.

We went here for driver’s license renewal. The staff here are friendly and responsible. It was almost the closing time when we reached there. But the staff at the front desk were extremely sweet and we got our work done on time.

OMG! Taking the Driver's license exam is like hell in 2019, I failed the first exam test, but came back strongly to pass in my second test. Got my license in the mail the following week. Stressful but worth doing.

Better than a spa day! I wait in 100 degrees in direct sunlight and the vitamin D in my skin goes crazy and chills me out. At this office, they take your health so seriously that they have mandatory social distancing as of 100 degrees in the sun July 2023. So to keep you safe, they only let 6 people in the lobby at a time. The line for every else is outside in the glorious Alabama sun. My second most memorable experience with the government.

My first time there. I was transferring my California license to Alabama. The staff was on point with assisting and I was given proper information.

The most efficient, well-organized, clean DMV I've ever visited.

I took my son this morn 9/7/23 to get his permit and even with all the ppl there in line, I think we were there for about an hour and half...which realistically wasn't bad, considering how many ppl were there. Also, I want to say that all the employees were extremely nice, especially the gentleman at the door and the woman who worked window #6....SHE WAS AMAZING!!! She was so helpful, kind and patient with me and my son and I cant thank her enough for everything she did for us. I wish I had her name but unfortunately I didn't get it before leaving.

Have to brag on Amanda, She was the examiner for the test, and did my paperwork. I’m a talking rambler, and she did everything amazingly with no issues and quickly. Would recommend her for any huntsville driver! 10/10 Service from Huntsville DMV

Wednesday early afternoon is apparently a good time to go there. Yes, they were full, and there were always people waiting but the staff was efficient. I was there without an appointment and was done from arriving to leaving in about 30 minutes.

As for the employees they are amazing and helpful and doing the best they can with what the government gave them to work with. Be advised if you don't have an appt you have to wait OUTSIDE if there are more than a handful of people INSIDE. I went this morning at around 9 and got seen around 11. I waited outside that entire time. Yes you can go into use the restroom. You go in first thing and talk to the worker at the door who will triage you and tell you where to go then you either sit down or go back outside and lean against the wall for a while.
Whatever you are there for do go inside and ask the worker where you should be waiting. Some people just got in line when they could have been seen sooner. Anyhow the facilities are clean and bright and the employees are cool. Make an appointment if you can. If not bring a small stool or something to sit on just in case. I went on a Wed morning. I'd been there the previous afternoon and could have been seen within the hour HAD I not forgotten a document (the worker at the door will inspect your documents to make sure you have everything you need).
There is a pretty big parking lot in the back and there's parking in the front too but don't park in front of the lawyer's office or you will get towed. So they say.

Pretty nice location and experience, although a bit run down, it takes about 15-45 minutes and the employees were nice.

I have always dreaded anything that required I go to the DMV. In the past I was convinced that the only people hired to work there HAD to hate working with people. I now stand corrected. Today I was in and out in less than an hour, without an appointment! The DMV employees were on their A- Game and SUPER friendly! I do not know what changed over time but keep up the excellent work! Thank you ladies for a very pleasant experience!!!

My experience was very positive. I showed up 30 minutes before my appointment and was seen immediately. Personal was very pleasant and helpful. Was in and out in 15 minutes.

I highly suggest planning ahead and scheduling an appointment online. As long as you do that, and make sure you have every document needed, the process is actually really quick & painless. Plus, the people were very helpful & friendly. The key is to MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!

Without a doubt I knew the line was going to be long, so we went any ways. It was actually about an hour before we made it to the front of the line but I met quit a few interesting people who were full of knowledge in every aspect (jobs, how to do this or that, rental properties, schools to attend, hair shops, the best eateries....It was better to wait than to keep coming back. The Service was great the staff was patient and advised us on what to do and what we needed.

The public servants were extremely helpful to sort out a Foreign National Driver's License renewal amid concerns of pending immigration status. I recommend for people to be patient and avoid peak hours. In doubt bring twice as much paperwork.

Made an appointment for STAR ID, had no wait time, and was in and out in 10 minutes! Oh and the front desk employee was super patient and nice even when I was confused about the STAR ID document requirements.

Very pleasant unexpected DMV experience. The blond lady at the front desk is amazing at her job and deserves a raise!! 20 people would come in and she'd have them all helped in 2 minutes even if they were rude! The world would be a better place if more people were like her.

The five stars are for the staff. I went there May 21 without an appointment expecting a poor experience and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly and efficient staff. Possibly because of this the clients were also good. Being a Monday, I expected a long wait. So I had a good book to read. It took an hour and a half, which seemed reasonable given the staffing.
They and the public do deserve a better facility to work in.

Make sure to do your part and go online and bring the required documents to do an out of state license transfer. I walked in with no appointment on a Friday at 9:30 AM. I signed in and was told to wait in my car and they would call me. They called me at 10:55 AM to come inside. They checked my documents and gave me a number and I was told to sit in the lobby and wait for my number to be called. My number was called at 11:28 AM. I provided the kind lady my documents, I took my picture and I was out the door by 11:45 AM. A little over 2 hours but overall it was a good experience. Thank you.
