It's not a five star place based on looks, but its five stars on the food, and the staff. They helped my wife sitting down while pulling her chair out while making sure she was safe. That speaks a lot of the welcoming staff. The waitress answered our questions about the food. Then it came out hot and enjoyable food. Philly was good but can mushrooms is not the same as fresh; but still worth eating. The burger is done perfect, even got my request of a little pink in the middle. Bacon was made perfect. Overall the food was top five while also really affordable. Add the staff made our time amazing, will be back again.

This was a perfect place to stop in for lunch with my son. The service was so fast and the food was great. My five stars don't mean I think this is a gourmet experience, but for a mom & pop hamburger grill joint experience, they execute in a five-star way.

Good value for the money. Burgers remind me of a carnival or festival burger, but definitely very tasty. Onion rings were delicious, fries could use an upgrade.
Atmosphere was fun and relaxing. Plentiful seating with booths and tables on one side and bar seating on the other.
Staff was very friendly and attentive.
Recommended especially if you are in the mood for a good, no-nonsense burger.

Great place for a quick bite, super friendly seat yourself place. Burgers are smashed with a nice crust for flavor, order a double or triple if you are hungry. Great skinny fries that come out hot, don't be surprised if your fries come out separate from your burger, that's typical. Place is very clean and lots of seating and parking with easy access from rt 29.

My wife and I started coming here about 10years while following UVA Baseball with friends that were family members of Kyle Crockett whom was a pitcher for UVA at that time. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, definitely Pro UVA and the food is delicious. Our favorite is the chicken philly sandwich with provolone cheese and split a basket of fries that we never finish. It is the best sandwich of its type I have eaten nationwide. I highly recommend it!

Riverside is a classic lunch staple in Charlottesville. It's got everything you could want for lunch with very reasonable prices. I think everything is under $5! My go-to order is a cheeseburger with onions, mustard and ketchup, and pickle. Get the fried mushrooms and ranch, and a Dr. Pepper. And get a side or basket of fries! And here's a tip to get that fry seasoning on every fry: put the seasoning ON the ketchup!

When back for the 2nd time and was impressed with how polite and awesome the wait staff was despite being so busy.
The food is amazing, as are the prices, but the people working there make it bring it all together!

This place is a gem. This is the definition of a neighborhood grill. You can get a fast beer and burger for a fair price. The staff is always friendly and respectful of your time.

Best service I’ve ever had. The food is amazing and very affordable. The entire staff is so friendly and welcoming and Jerry has next level service. Popped by for a quick bite ended up having an amazing lunch. Will be back soon and if you haven’t checked this little spot out you’re missing out.

The food is basic American fare, but it's quick and delicious. The staff is friendly, and the food comes out in a few minutes. The smash burgers are incredibly flavorful, and I love the shoestring fries. They have lots of other sides, and it's a good place to grab a beer.

Riverside is a classic. The food here is good ole right to the soul food. Eating here is like going home. The staff are family

Best burgers in Charlottesville! They are the closest to the super fresh burgers from In-&-Out, but without the ticket to the West Coast. :). The staff are also friendly. Highly recommend! One of my favorite lunch places.
