Visiting friends and we were going to another Mexican restaurant, but it was closed (lucky for us!! 😊), so we went to Carlitos'!!

Super friendly and attentive service, the food was fantastic!!!

Full bar with the exception of wine and no draft beer, but it might change!

Tuesday special is 2 taco plate (2 tacos, rice, beans and salad items for tacos). Wednesday special is cheese enchilada plate (2 cheese enchiladas, rice and beans)... both specials are $7.99 each!

We will return!!

The food here is flavorful, fresh, and exciting. You won't get a meal that isn't over the top. The spice is wonderful. The drinks are thirst quenching, and it's a huge family favorite since my mom moved to the area.

Portion sizes are HUGE. You can have 3 meals off one dish. The prices are very reasonable.

Service is slower since the pandemic, but everywhere is having struggles with staffing, this is something we will simply need to budget into our time as guests.

The place is clean, the people are friendly.

Had lunch at Carlitos today. It was my first time coming. Was greeted by Maria(wearing a red shirt at the time I walked in) she was quick to sit me down and take my drink order. They were not busy, but she was the only server for the moment. I was impressed by how much a single person was doing and being efficient at it as well. An older man dropped my chips off. They were good, definitely better than La Luna down the street. My entree was out pretty fast and it was hot and delicious. Had to let it cool down. Server was perfect with her timing throughout my experience. Not to over bearing with "is everything good" and not gone for long periods of time. That to me is what makes my time good. To me great food at a restaurant can still ruined with overbearing service or terrible service.

I will definitely be coming back. Gonna try some tacos(people where talking about how good they were behind me.) and maybe a drink next, you have a good selection.

Came with the family. I had the tacos and so did my daughter and they were delicious. The wife ordered the sour cream chicken enchiladas and she loved them. Good service over all

I am very picky about my food especially Mexican food. My friend took me here and it was so aaaaaamazing the food was executed perfectly. The flavors, service and atmosphere were fantastic and the price was on point. I definitely give this place a two thumbs up 👍👍 and am coming back again.

Casual but excellent spot. The barbacoa tacos with caramelized cheese were the tastiest tacos I've ever had! Margarita was great as well.

Wow food was amazing had the el chapo bacon wrapped chimichanga. Chips salsa and queso automatically arrived on the table as we sat. Definitely will be back.

Look, I’m very sorry I haven’t tried this place sooner. Definitely the best traditional Mexican restaurant I have been to, even counting ones in Texas on the border. The mulitas carnitas were absolutely delicious, and the steak fajitas were actually the best steak I have ever eaten, including $40 saltgrass steaks.

If you are considering trying this, just do it. Eat here, and go all out. The tortillas are cooked to a perfect balance, the tortilla chips and the salsa they bring when you sit down are super thin and crispy. Why are you still reading and not driving to this hidden gem of a restaurant?

Man..this place is awesome. We didn't take a pic of our food unfortunately 😕. Nachos with chorizo and a burrito called The Costenos..wow! I don't know what that means, but it was fabulous 😍. Our waiter was quick and friendly. Margaritas were delish too!

Carlitos is a great local spot thats been around for decades. Good chips and queso. Good food. Usually no wait, but it is always fairly busy. We had an excellent server named Natalie. Carlos is awesome too! Ask for him or Natalie and you'll good to go. The strawberry margaritas are my favorite🍹

Truly an authentic resturant, if your every in newcastle I definitely recommend to stop by Carlitos Cafe, and ask for Carlos by far our best waiter!

Gone here my whole life, been my favorite place since I was young. Love the quesadillas.
